Review Kaikanui Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway - Kaiapoi

We've been coming to Kaikanui Chinese Restaurant for over 20 years. Fantastic food and a great selection too. We had Sweet n sour pork, pan fried dumplings and chips. And they deliver outside of Kaiapoi. A++++

Ordered a couple burgers, usual chip shop burgers. Would be good if they came with onion though as standard like most other chip shops

Pretty good but not up to usual standard, hardly any sauce on the s&s pork or lemon. Chicken. Husband's beef blk bean.mostly hunks of watery cabbage in sauce. If I lived in Kaiapoi I probably would have taken it back. Unusual as has always been a great place to go when in a hurry home late,

Fantastic fish and chips, I would have to say they are the best in South island so far have not found another close to the good.

Lovely food including Chinese specialty meals, and the good old fish and chips. You can order set meals, or have a meal made up from the cabinets on the spot. Unless you order by phone, be prepared for a wait, as phone orders seem to take priority. ( I didn't phone in my order and waited close to thirty minutes for my order.) When it came, though, the food was excellent and authentic with some of the best, meatiest, wonton I have had at any Chinese restaurant. I recommend this restaurant, but I also recommend that you order first by phone.

My usual go to for combination fried rice. Always a good sized portion with a good amount of meat. It has been hit and miss a few times but everyone has their off days. 9 times out of 10 it's perfect! My only suggestion would be more omelette in the fried rice. 👍

Local fish and chip shop. Go to for Chinese. Usually pretty fast, especially if you phone order in.

Good service, great hours, great prices, only downside is that they use crinkle cut chips which I'm not so fond of.

Great variety, Chinese, burgers,fish n chips, battered almost anything.. been there for years and always busy, packed over the weekends and fri nights are mental. Great family deals, been going there for years and never disappoint. Friendly service and professional staff, dine In area also..

Always come in yo this place as my late night refers meal. My personal favorite is their chilli chicken burger, corn nuggets, fish and wedges. Ocassionally I have gotten the no.75 beef rice noodle and I think this is the star of their menu!!!

Visited the Kaikanui fish n chip shop for the first time in 25 years tonight. Still produce a delicious feed. Will make sure it won't be another 25 years till next visit 😀
