We went there with high expectations after it was recommended to us, and were pleasently surprised. Food was lovely and we received it very quickly. Coffee was fantastic. Looking forward to going back when we are in Northland again.
Very good food and service. We called in with the kids for lunch and were met with a good menu, with lots on offer. I order the chicken wrap and we also got a salad, and nachos for the kids. All the food came at once with the kids food first, and once we had finished the coffee and drinks afterwards. Seemed very thoughtful. The girls behind the counter kept apologising that it was taking so long, I think we waited 10mins, and thought it was speedy ! compared to many other cafes. Fresh food and great service, recommended.

Nice local cafe with a good range of food, cooked to order. Good sized milkshakes, and everything reasonably priced too. Nice service and we were so happy to see this Kaitaia cafe had coconut milk available for coffee (also had soy and almond available). The coffee was good and they had a super big takeaway size available as well
Great friendly staff, the best egg Benedict in Northland, and the rest of the food is also top notch. Brilliant coffee served with a smile. Always look forward having breakfast there.
Lovely flat white...strong flavour...hot! Meal was speedy with flavoursome ingredients (eggs, bacon, hash browns). Chef! You broke my yoke! I love runny eggs on focaccia! Little thing...don't just place the coffee down and go...please confirm the order🙂

Without a doubt this cafe has serious food yuminess going on!
I rat this 5 out of 5 for the following reasons;
Food; It's quite rare that I give a cafe'especially a Cafe'that I have never visited before, in a small/city of country New Zealand. This was one of those rare occasions where I honestly thought my tummy will pop if I continue to eat another bite.
Seriously though, the cheese and bacon scones are described as epic! Home baking taken to a whole new level of fabulousness.
From the hot food, cappuchino's, to the delicious sweet treats - they are undeniably one of the most stand-out producers of home-baked goods in the upper Northern parts of New Zealand, if not arguably being the best in the North Island.
Service; Like the food, service is friendly, welcoming and served in good time.
Cleanliness; Clean place, really clean actually.
Value for money; I think this has got to be the most value for money place/cafe'in Aotearoa, NZ, due to the fact that I paid nothing -jokes, it was a shout :):). However, I know the prices are in alignment with all other cafe's in the area.
Overall, will be heading back to this place for scones, sweet treats and coffee next time I am in town.
Thanks guys, please keep doing what you are doing-I and Kaitaia and ex-pats returning home, are reminded why Aotearoa, NZ is ultimately one of the best food havens in the world.

Nice food. Have been going here on and off for years. Can get a bit noisy when inside with the coffee machine running, bit otherwise quite nice.
Staff friendly but forgetable. Coffee 6/10. All 3 food items ive had so far were well portioned and great food. I would go elsewhere for coffee but i keep going back for their food.
We were pleasantly surprised how clean the Cafe is. Staff were friendly. Coffee is excellent and the Bacon and Eggs are top quality.
Love Birdies cafe, they have amazing food and drinks my go to is the mango smoothie. Customer service is always good and the ladies there are wonderful
Lovely cafeteria, the fresh pancakes with berries were 'Best2018' breakfast. Didn't try their coffee so don't know.
Decent coffee can be hard to find...
This place is hardly trendy but the menu is solid, the people are friendly, and it's always tidy
