Review Saanchi's Copper Chimney - Kaitaia

This is the best Indian food I had in NZ. if you are travelling up north and looking for a good Indian food, I bet this is the one. We also took a detour for this and it’s worth it. Edit 1: Another stop here on return. Everyone was happy, we being for getting yummy food, they are happy to see smiling faces.

We got here right around the time they opened shop. My mum in law who prefers only Indian food, more specifically South Indian food was very pleased with this place as well. The staff were really friendly and accommodative. We had their Chettinad Chicken and Mutton Chukka. Both really yummy and packed with flavour.

Coming from Auckland, we didn't consider practically everything in Kaitaia closes around 9. We needed to get dinner last-minute (10-15 minutes before they closed) and the manager Amit was VERY helpful & accommodating - confirmed our order for takeaway, had the staff stay longer & prepare what was possible, apologized for the outspoken chef (which I didn't mind; we were late, not their problem), talk to them about customer service... was pleasant to speak to. The food was all fresh - the Butter Na'an & Chicken Tikka Masala were absolutely AWESOME but the Biryanis weren't exactly your typical Biryanis... plus, their Medium spice actually gets a lot of chilli, specifically in the Biryani it seems like... especially due to the lack of Raitha, which didn't help in our case. However, they were appreciable quantities for the reasonable prices and even in all the hurry, they didn't forget the plastic cutlery & tissues. All in all, though, a positive experience and I'd definitely recommend this place... if we're ever back, we'd like to dine-in as everything seemed very comfortable, looked welcoming & appealing and had a really good atmosphere.

Fresh fast food, great value for money friendly staff, and the best curry I've had the chicken is very delightful cooked just right. I'll definitely be back. Thank you

We tried Copper Chimney again recently and they've turned things around. The place was clean and atmosphere felt nice. We were served by a really friendly staff member. Meals taste authentic and fresh. Thank you 😊

Visited the restaurant with my mum on our Northland trip, we absolutely loved dosas and 2 vegan curries! Thank you team for the great food and service!

Food was alright, we only had the option of a takeaway as it was closing time. The staff was still kind to accompany our order. I got the vegetable biriyani which was more like rice stir fried with vegetables wasn't the best. Go for the combo deals as they are good for the price value.

Amazing food , portion quantity is also very good...Owners are very sweet and service is very good.. Must visit if you are in Kaiwaia

Best butter chicken I have tasted in Kaitaia. Mango Lassi was delicious. Customer service was fantastic.

Beautiful food, we had the Butter Chicken, my wife’s favourite, and she declared it the best she had had. I had it as well, and I have to agree. It’s a small intimate restaurant, with a friendly touch. Would definitely eat here again if we are back this way.

The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious. A huge variety of dishes available. I often had Indian food and it all tastes the same. But at the Copper Chimney every dish has its own character and flavor. Also does take away. Portions are big.

Nice food and the lady at the reception is nice. She took our order even though they are busy with other big order. It was helpful for us because everything was close at that time. Thank you so much 🙏👏

The food here was so incredible and delicious. The staff were understanding and mindful of dietary restrictions (dairy free/vegan). I was blown away by the quality of the curries and I absolutely cannot wait to return and enjoy the food again in the future.

One of the best madras curries I have had and the wife's butter chicken was excellent. We are from Vancouver and have had curries in scotland and various places in Canada and this is top 3. Will not rank as this could upset my favourite restaurants

Such delicious Indian food! It was inexpensive and different portion sizes to choose from! Great for takeaway or a quick sit down. I will recommend to anyone I know!

Always happy with my meal here. We ordered takeaways tonight and the cumin poppadums that you guys put in with our order were seriously yummy!! I'm not usually a fan of poppadums but these were so so tasty and i will order them every time. Thank you!!

Lovely fresh food and proper Indian hot when requested :-) Always eat here! Better than the other one in town. Not so keen on the TV playing music videos though, would prefer just the music.
