We ordered the teriyaki don buri and chicken ramen as pictured and these tasted as good as they looked. The staff were very polite and the restaurant is extremely clean and tidy. All items on the menu seem very reasonably priced which is great. The sushi in the cabinet also looked amazing so will definitely be back to try.
Called in for a quick solo lunch. Food nicely presented, fresh and tasty. Communication with staff a little tricky but itβs the real deal. Had good number of gluten free options

Limited cooked food menu, ramen noodles were cooked nice and springy but meat was slightly salty. Portions are slightly small for the price.
I hope they will go back to the menu they had when they first opened. Their original menu used to serve dishes that I only get to eat from high-end hotels. Not saying they don't serve good food now. Their menu now is completely fine. It maybe the basic set of rice bowls and noodle meals but still very authentic when it comes to taste. Maybe its not viable financially to have exotic Japanese dishes in Kapiti but it would be nice if there was at least 1 dish in the menu that would truly shine. Something that does not try to please everyone and is more loyal to the culture of Japan.
Good range of the usual delicious items but a little pricey, even compared to Wellington city places. Well presented food. Free water. Plenty of seating & good location with parking shared with Coastlands Mall.
This is definitely the best sushi place in the area, the seating is great, if you want to see outside, you can, if you want to be in a kind of private booth, you can wherever you'd want to sit you can, I know it doesn't seem that important but I want people to come here. the shop is in the perfect place and the food is excellent. Probably the main thing that makes it deserve five stars is the miso soup. If you come at the right part of the day the soup is absolutely perfect and that's what I got the first time I went the, and the sushi range is as good as you'd want too, it has the usual stuff and it also has other things that some other places don't have, I think it's at least 5 times as good as the place in the food court. The only thing that they could/should do to make it better is to add the sushi lolipops back. I don't know why I got one in the first place or why they were so great but anyway, owner, if you ever read this please add the lolipops back. πππππ
Absolutely love there sushi,lm a regular customer on the weekend ,there prices are very reasonable compared to other sushi places around.
Honestly just had the best sushi I've ever had! If you want a delicious lunch head down to Kokoro in the Coastlands mall (next to windmill). There sushi is full of flavor and soo good!!

Sushi Kokoro offers a wide and tasty range of both cabinet sushi and a la carte plates (udon, ramen, donburi etc.) for Kapiti Coast visitors and locals. The restaurant is starting to get a following so is normally well-patronised, especially over lunch. They offer both dine-in and takeaway options. Staff are always efficient and pleasant, and chef does a great job out the back.
Okonomiyaki took us right back to Hiroshima! Vegetarian Katsu and homemade Kimchi also stand outs. Great to see several vegetarian options and real value for your $. First of many visits for us π₯ππ±π΅π
Bubble tea milkshake was a huge favorite amongst the kids. Will definitely be back for a sit down lunch.
