Review Cc's Cafe Cinema - Kerikeri

Movie dinner deal and I'm glad we did. I've had two taste sensations in the past two years and this was the second one. The Calamari entree was absolutely delicious. Easily a five star from me. When I go back, the Calamari will be my main. The pork ribs and curry were very nice too, but, again, for me, it was all about the Calamari. Service was second to none. Claire made us feel welcome, provided first class service, and the whole experience was very enjoyable for my wife and I. Prices were exceptional. A definite return trip in the offing. (Sorry, we had started eating the mains pre the photos).

Great place....friendly staff...Good prices.. Sweet and Sour chicken salad is yummy. Cheese scones are also yummy. Nice coffee ☕ 1 shot for all sizes. But you can ask for more shots with a extra charge. Will definitely be back.

We had such delicious mouth watering food here. My sandwich was fresh, with lots of Salmon, lettuce & the Horseradish accentuated the whole experience. It was amazing 🤩 and I have sampled many Chia Lattes, and this was refreshing and delicious, and left me wanting to have another 👏

We had an absolute fabulous meal, the food was hot, tasty well presented and great value for money. I only had burger and chips, but it was possibly the best burger I have ever had. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. To finish the night off, we watched a movie in the cinema

The food was amazing 😋 and the waitress was lovely! I ordered the camembert with manuka honey!! It was amazing was a bit hesitant at first but it was good. I also got the baby ribs burger it was too big I had to split the burger by taking the bun off with haft the burger lol worked out pretty well.

We were shopping in Kerikeri and my friend, Christian said there were great pies to be had here. He was right. The brisket pie was a joy, the coffee excellent and cake was OK. A great experience. Lack of background music may be the only negative but definitely not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination. Dog friendly enviroment too.

Very friendly and warm atmosphere. I chose Fish and chips and it was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately the batter was too generous and too crisp, making it difficult to eat.

Absolutely the best meal we have ever had out in Kerikeri. We both had eye fillet and it was so delicious I didn't want the meal to end. Beautifully presented and flavours were fantastic. For pudding sticky toffee bread and butter pud. So yummy...

I love going to Cafe Cinema-one always gets service with a (genuine) smile...the coffee is great especially accompanied with the delicious fudge slab.
Good honest food gets presented in a fun way and you never leave hungry.
I would recommend this warm cosy atmosphere to anyone visiting Kerikeri weather it be for a cuppa,a snack ,lunch or dinner-it's well worth it!

We go here a lot and enjoy every visit, the carrot cake really is the best in town (speaking from experience) and the staff are very accommodating of our little boy. He is now two, but has been going there since he was 2 months. They gave him ice cream when his throat was sore, fluffies when all of our tempers were frayed and never make you feel like an outcast for taking a young child into a restaurant.
Aside from the warmth of the staff, the food is good and consistent and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is always good, what's not to like?

I really enjoy the dinner and cinema package here. The service has always been excellent and they are very accommodating of my yankee interpretation of reality! I always run into my friends here! And Menu-mania, I just don't feel like writing more than 200 characters. I don't do details. I just had a great time and want to give them some stars, OK?

Annually we travel to Paihia for a 1 week holiday. This year saw us inviting our friends from Timaru who have never travelled so far north. My husband flew in to join us on Sunday evening so we travelled to Kerikeri for the afternoon to do all the touristy things. We decided to have something to eat while there and stumbled over Café Cinema. Wonderful service and great food was enjoyed by all. An added bonus was meeting up with Mats again (the owner) and briefly meeting his daughter Charlie. We will look forward to visiting next year when we come up for our annual pilgrimage.

Went once last year and found the food and service average, however went back recently due hearing about the gluten free food available and loved it. They serve the most amazing curries. I have been twice in the last month and the service has been really great too. Slightly disappointing they don't have a kids menu, they would however put something together from their current menu but would have preferred to select something special for the kids like nuggets and chips so they have a treat too. I guess this is due to deterring kids from their clientele. All in all I will definitely be going back.

Not sure what it is about this place, people either love it or hate it.

I WANT to like it but really struggle to come up with any positives beyond the fact it's adjacent to the cinema.

Food is patchy. We've had some okay meals here and some shockers. Price is reasonable for what you get. The few takeaway coffee's I've had bought for me (thanks hun!) have been pretty good. People love to tell me about the awful service and food they've had but I'm not reviewing on their behalf.

Personally, I find the awkwardness of the staff behind the counter the hardest to look past. Hugely welcoming and gushy if you're the "in" crowd. Somewhat cold, vague, and sometimes (quite honestly) rude if you don't fit into the above category.

My advice? Come here if it fits your movie schedule, but be prepared to be assertive about your meal and time requirements.

My partner and I are a young couple we went on a date night for dinner and a movie. When we got to the restaurant we were were not approached after finally getting someone's attention we were looked at like we had no money to spend and seated in the corner at the back of the restaurant that was bare. Once we had ordered we were ignored once again then noticed that new patrons had come in for dinner, they were greeted with a smile seated quickly and brought water, cutlery and place mats. I don't understand why we were not treated with the same hospitality which ultimately ruined our night we could not get out of there fast enough.

Hi Guys,

I brought my workers in for a meal after i shouted them a movie. We were disappointed in the quality of the food.

We spent well over $200 for four of us, which isnt bad but we waited over an hour. The curry was more tomato paste and the chicken was really dry, the pork, ive had more joy out of a rash of bacon, and the potatoes on the side tasted like they were from the day before.

The highlights... The staff. The front of house lady was warm and welcoming. The wine was spectacular and the ambiance was great. The stuffed chicken breast was fantastic and if someone asked me to reccomend a dish it would be that. Again tho the potato tasted like it was the day before's prep.

I think the disappointing thing for us was we weren't satisfied and went to Mc Donalds afterwards. Im not one to complain, in fact i never do but it was suggested i let you know.

Good to see it open again after renovations. Great ambiance, relaxed and friendly. Have tried it twice, on my birthday with family and on a girls night out. Great service, friendly staff, delicious food and the best coffee I've had in a long time. Love the old movie-posters on the walls. Keep up the good work!

We discovered cafe cinema on our first trip to New Zealand and adored it. On our next visit it was a large contributory factor to our spending several days in Keri Keri. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food superb. Can't wait to go back.

Went to this restaurant in Nov 2007, was the best one on our North Island trip. Great atmosphere, great menu choice and magnificent food, very reasonably priced. Attentive , courteous staff. Can't believe no one has reviewed or raved about this place, just wonderful. Venison to die for, and deserts all mouth wateringly delicious.
