Review Kau Kawhe - Kuaotunu

My spouse and I are here two days in a row while visiting the area. The plant based chicken mushroom pot pie was fantastic. The beet juice is refreshing and just sweet enough. Definitely worth a visit!

What an amazing place to come and have a coffee and lunch with family and friends. Located in Kuaotunu opposite the fire station and next to lukes kitchen. Great indoor outdoor seating and always kept clean and tidy. The staff are amazing. Very friendly and give off a great vibe. The food is delicious 🤤🤤🤤 and the girls make a great coffee. Heaps of parking next to the cafe, but if they are full there is the reserve across the road where there is alot of parking also. I totally recommend going here and will go again. We lunched here today. As always, the vibe was friendly and relaxed and the service excellent. It’s a gorgeous spot to sit and watch the beach and the locals. The smoked fish pie was out of this world: perfect pastry, perfect filling with big chunks of juicy smoked fish, perfect potato topping. Just fabulous! And the smoothie was amazing too. The quality of our meal was as good as you’ll get anywhere, but it’s not just anywhere… it’s beautiful Kuaotunu with it’s gorgeous beach and lovely locals. Outstanding!

Nice cafe. Also a small store with some items. I ordered cappuccino and raspberry muffin. It was delicious and really fresh. Staff is nice and place is very charming. Recommended!

This place is an absolute gem! The staff glow they're so friendly. The atmosphere is the morning vibe you seek. They serve Lala coffee and it will blow your senses away, the way espresso should. This is the first café in Aotearoa that I've visited that are doing all the right things, and the customers are loving it. It's evident in all the happy faces you see surrounding you as you sip your morning coffee and admire the beautiful coastal views. A must if you're ever in the Coromandel area.

Went here to get a snack. I ordered the choclate brownie which was excellent. Overall I'd reccomend coming here.

A gorgeous and cozy cafe with a super lovely welcoming vibe. Definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Kuaotunu! The food and coffee is delicious and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend, we will be back 🥰

Charming spot with delicious fresh food. The soba noodle salad, chicken and mushroom pie and veggie frittata were perfect to share. Quiet indoor and outside seating options. Highly recommend!
