Good food and view... food for the soul. I had the beer battered Blue Cod and it was unforgettable. The Blue Cod was recommended as a speciality of the South Island of New Zealand.
Beautiful views and a good feed. Really nice food, friendly waitress, great wine selection, and a view to top it all off. Lovely spot!
Amazing affordable meal that was more than I could eat. Sailz staff had very friendly service, with a lovely view from the upstairs deck, I recommend the seafood chowder, and then we went back for pizza the next day and I am yet to find another one like it. Our friends called in for a delicious coffee and a beautiful date scone after they cycled the Lake Hawea - Albert Town river track, this place is beautiful!
Perfect place to stop before you head over the pass to Haast or Franz. The homemade soup was fabulous. We were really glad we popped off the main highway and had a nice bite to eat before the long drive through the mountains. Staff were lovely. Food was excellent.

I ended up stopping here right after Mo's, so it was a two breakfasts kind of morning. A cozy atmosphere. I would have liked some outlets to charge my stuff while I ate before heading out over the mountains again, but all is well, good coffee and breakfast

Spent a relaxing morning on the Lake Hawea waterfront. Enjoyed a very good coffee and excellent carrot cake whilst reading the ODT and overhearing some locals speading gossip. Very entertaining
Had lunch and breakfast here and both times service was great . Lunch was chicken burger and rebean toastie . Breakfast was eggs benie and coffee great food
Don’t underestimate this place! Looks like a kiwi bakery but this place is a gem! Incredible food, great coffee. Relaxed spot. Food is really well priced. Looks pretty standard in the cabinet but wow everything was incredibly delicious and the staff were very attentive. Totally recommend.
The upstairs dining experience was delightful, very comfortable on a cold winter evening and with delicious food. The serving staff were amazing and even asked for the Spotify playlist the music was that good. Highly recommended, certainly a return customer
The new Hawea Store and Kitchen upstairs restaurant is great! The food was interesting, well thought out, good portion sizes and excellent vegetarian or meat options. The service was really good. Wine and beer lists had good options. The view is really nice and its kept the down to earth Hawea charm.

Amazing views of the Southern Alps overlooking Lake Hawea. The store has a good variety of fresh food and takeaways, with a decent cafe. It really has it all! They even have a little bit of fishing tackle for your last minute needs :)
This was a nice pit stop for us from Queenstown heading to Franz Josef.
We ordered a fish and chips and a burger and both were fantastic. It seems like you can't go wrong with fish and chips anywhere in New Zealand, and Sailz Lake Hawea Store kept it that way. The burger was very good too.
We also appreciate the kind gesture of the staffs there who helped made the fish and chips into a dine-in meal when it was supposed to be takeaway, as we were planning to have our lunch in the store.
This kind of thoughtful gesture is what makes a place shine.
The flat white I ordered is amongst the best I have had; a nice surprise find, the coffee was well-balanced.
Definitely would recommend you making a stop here if you're passing by.
