Love that how a small town like Tekapo produces such amazing places to eat! Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive even though they were busy. the coffee here is good and their breakfast portions sizable and value for money. Our highlight were their delicious pies! we had the underbelly pie, chicken and seafood one. Easily one of the best we ever had. Highly recommended for anyone travelling to this beautiful town!

Such a great wee Cafe. We've walked past many times while in Tekapo over the years and it's always been busy so we were glad to get a table for breakfast. The staff were lovely, coffee was great and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely the largest French toast I've ever had. The menu had good options and the cabinet food looked amazing. Would stop here again for sure next time we are in Tekapo.

The greedy cow cafe made us come back wanting for more. We enjoyed their food so much we returned the next day as we only had a few days stay at Lake Tekapo. The cafe is always busy but we managed to find seats. We like their pancakes and french toasts. We had latte, hot chocolate, chai latte and they were really good. Wished our stay was longer so we could try other dishes.

Excellent food and service! One of the best breakfast spots in New Zealand. Ordered cappuccinos, iced vanilla latte, halloumi toast, English breakfast plate, and Ferraro rocher eclair. 100% come here when visiting Lake Tekapo

I came here in 2019 and loved it but forgot to post a review. I came back again in 2023 the service, the food and the coffee is still the best. Fabulous place in Tekapo. It has the best Japanese service and quality!

Great place - super organised and the menu has everything in a boutique style. The take away cabinet is stocked full of delicious sandwiches/buns. Think it's run by a Japanese family - has a feel of the cafes in NISEKO ... GO THERE!

Loved this place for breakfast/brunch. I would say their coffee is the best in lake Tekapo. I ordered the eggs benedict with salmon it was super tasty! All was cooked perfectly. The service was friendly too, note you have to order the food and drinks at the till.

This place is so wonderful! The staff are really polite and friendly, prompt service, nice interior decor, and most importantly, the food taste great! The eggs Benedict is really flavourful, and yet the bread is still nice and crispy. The hot chocolate is one of the best I’ve had! Definitely check this place out if you’re near lake Tekapo!

Can get very busy. Saturday morning in August was about a 30 min wait for food. I got the French toast and it was great, though a little drowned in berry juice. The chocolate dessert was good but a little airy inside for my taste.

Local recommended to go here for breakfast, said it's the best in Tekapo and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend the pancakes. Very large portions, reasonable prices, extremely yummy food. This place is very busy as it's so popular so there may be a wait for food but lady was upfront and told us there may be a longer than 40 minute wait for food. Got our food in 30 minutes so exceeded our expectations. Great service!! Hot chocolate and mocha was great too!

Love and enjoy our meals here. Hot chocolate and Smoked Chicken are good. Coming back for more, eggs Benedict with salmon and ginger lemon honey (flavourful)

Absolutely adore our go-to café in Tekapo! The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, and their breakfast options are simply extraordinary. Indulged in the delightful egg Benedict, accompanied by a delectable vegetarian twist featuring spinach and mushroom. Pure perfection! Immense gratitude to the entire team!

I had been at The Greedy CoW Cafey 2 days back i and my friends had been to lake tekapo and we had came from very far place like Dunedin and Cromwell. So once we reached at lake tekapo we wanted to have breakfast so we started to walk with the lake lane and at this cafe we saw so many people having their meals so we decided that lets take a call on publicity where all people were there and cafe was all full we sat outside of the cafe and we had wonderful breakfast everything was tasty and good in taste . All though cafe was full and there was rush but we got our order in just time . Good going guys must visit.

Sometimes it’s the smallest towns that produce the best places to eat and drink and the greedy cow packs an awesome small town punch. This place is popular and you can expect it to be busy when you visit. Even with the large throws of people to satisfy we found the service friendly and efficient. The coffee here is amazing and they do all your favourites in a variety of sizes. Take out or stay and enjoy a cup inside or alfresco on one of the outdoor tables. The food is great and the serving sizes present great value for your dollar. It’s also great to see a cafe doing breakfast a little different. I tried the Beef Hotpot and it’s a great twist on the hum drum eggs and bacon on toast. You get some beautifully tender beef on top of a cheese omelet swimming in a tasty gravy. I used the bread to soak up all the wonderfull gravy and this dish was hearty and satisfying. There are cabinets with sandwiches and pies and sweets for those inclined. A must for anyone travelling this beautiful part of New Zealand where the food and coffee is top notch.

Definitely one of the go to spots for breakfast and coffee at Lake Tekapo. Huge selection of food with plenty of vegetarian options too. We were surprised at how good the coffee was especially Tekapo being on the smaller size in terms of population. This place gets very busy very quickly so food does take some time to arrive which has been made worse with staff shortages, however you would have had time to thoroughly enjoy a great coffee before the food surrounded by friendly people and fellow tourost We ordered the greedy breakfast and the French toast (both vegetarian) and whilst the greedy breakfast wasn't anything overly special, the beans were a bit watery and the scrambled eggs i ordered were a bit over done, the French toast was very well done highlighted with two huge thick cut slices of toast. Also ordered a nut slice to fuel me up for the Mt John summit and found I had devoured it half way up it was so good.
