Review Our Dog Friday - Lake Tekapo

I was very hungry when I came here and left extremely satisfied. The warm atmosphere and decor was nice and relaxing, but the food was great! Given that this could be described as a tourist town, the prices were pretty reasonable and the portions pretty big. Between two of us we had the Rebellious, the Heist and Cayenne Fries. All were amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you're in town and like burgers!

Our Dog Friday is a great eatery situated in a nice area of Lake Wanaka. The service is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and looks good. Also, the atmosphere is chill. The poutine fries are super yummy but a little heavy on the gravy. Good spot to go for a feed!

Had a wonderful brunch at this charming place. Nicely decorated little hideout with attention to detail design and interesting back story. The burgers here are great using quality ingredient. Go for the miso broccoli as well! Warm and friendly staff makes you feel right at home in the cold winter. Perfect stop before heading out to the lake visit.

Enjoyed my meal here. Friendly guy at the Bar. Food was well priced for large servings. The creamy sauce, pickled onions and Gherkins really made the burger taste that much better it was very filling. My favourite was the Poutine Fries! Next time I'm in Tekapo I will def be eating here again.

Amazing place for a lunch or dinner. We ordered a lamb burger, a hotdog and some mouth-watering pulled pork fries. All of the food was just delicious! Pair it with a nice lager to top it off!

My friend and I walked in late Saturday afternoon. The wait staff was friendly. The choices of burgers are limited but I think that's good because they have worked well on the menu. This meant we got the best burger. I had the Cajun burger, which I would highly recommend. The interiors are quite nice, even the toilet! They have the history of the dog on their walls which is a nice touch.

This place is charming, as well as the food. Came here for dinner and ordered the Outlaw, which is a pork sausage served in a hotdog-style bun, and also ordered the popcorn chicken and a large flat white. I felt the combination of the sauces for the hotdog bun could have been better, but the popcorn chicken was really good. I'll definitely be back to try their breakfast menu someday! The guys here are uber friendly too.

Came here because the arrogant Japanese Kohan told us to return. Had a burger and chicken wings to start since we didn’t have breakfast. Freshly prepped lamb burger and chicken wings, comfortable space, quick service too. Not sure about the other reviews who got it bad but our burger was absolutely juicy, straight from the kitchen and piping hot. The chicken wings is also piping hot and hot spicy sauce is very good!! I would rather dine here than Kohan anytime!

A great burger place in Lake Tekapo! The food were awesome with good value of money. I think this is the best restaurant in this area. I definitely will come back next time I visit Tekapo. The chicken wing was crispy outside but very juicy inside. I love the hot and sour sauce coming with it. I ordered the Rustler, which is lamb burger and it was so tasty! The filling vege was very special and I love it! My boyfriend ordered Friday Dog which is the beef burger with fried egg in it and it was great too! This is very busy restaurant but the service is great! All the staff are very friendly.

Highly recommended. Tried Faithful burger today (mushrooms, beetroots, onions, tomato) so good. And the Speical soda is absolutely worth a try. Reasonable and affordable price (cost me 14 for burger). 👍

Favourite burgers in New Zealand alongside Fergburger at Queenstown. The ingredients in the burgers were really fresh and the patties were so well marinated and full of flavours. The pulled pork fries were not the star of the restaurant but it was a nice complement!

Such a great place to eat! We had a beef burger, a chicken burger, miso broccoli, and fries and everything was absolutely amazing!

Vegetarian Burgers were quite good, if you’re a meat lover, you will definitely find a grate tasty burger. Fries are good, too.

By far the best burger in southern hemisphere. Amazing place in the middle of NZ at Lake tekapo. A must visit for foodie. And don't and I mean DON'T forget to try the desserts. Yumsie.

We got 2 burgers; Rebellious and Good Friday with a side of Cayenne coated fries, all very tastey. Being school holidays and a rainy evening it was very very busy, no tables and not alot standing room while you wait. The staff were handling the rush really well which isn't easy. A trick for this situation is to visit the outdoors gear shop next door which is open late, alot more comfortable place to wait and the buzzer will still get reception and go off when your food is ready.

Great food, great service. Would have liked table service and fish on my burger could have done with some salt but that's getting pretty picky! Best onion rings I've had in a long time. 👍👍

Place is great for dinner. Food arrived very quickly. Service was great 👍.

Great selection of tasty burgers and drinks. Outside and inside sitting area. It was busy but we got our orders pretty fast anyway.

I would give zero if I could, but the rating system only works from 1. Patties are burnt, buns are dark and hard as a rock from mount cook. Taste like nothing but bitterness and sadness. Chef probably just went thru a break up to be able to make these food.

This is a cool place in Tekapo. We had awesome burgers and the staff were friendly and took care in avoiding certain ingredients (due to allergy) in the dishes. Thanks!

The burgers were amazing, great vegan options that the family loved, I have had both their big beef burger and the chicken burger with the plum mayo, both of which were amazing, staff were lovely and very accommodating due to our lack of time. Very happy with everything offered.
