The Wild Walnut - Lawrence - Photo album

Such a treasure of a place The owners are very hands on and knowledgeable about local flora. Home made bread used for toasties. Every item in the Cafe has a unique story behind it, from the pink spotted plant handed down from a school boy, to the hand made bench, to the repurposed piano hung on the
Great food. The BLT's were huge, the toasted sandwiches on homemade bread were scrumptious and the chips perfect - crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and piping hot. The tea made with tea leaves not tea bags and the coffee was superb too. Lovely people and service
Very friendly staff :) very comforting atmosphere! Lovely filled with green plants! Feels very home like
Lovely cafe for meals, coffee or a beer. We stopped for coffee mid afternoon. Friendly staff, good coffee and nice selection of foods. We wandered through Lawrence, looking at all the history. Very unexpected, but nice.
Very nice food and lovely hosts. Nice outdoor part. Warm in winter due to the fireplace. Sells lots of cool little local crafts and preserves etc. Highly recommend
If you're travelling to Lawrence and want a bite to eat, you cannot go past The Wild Walnut. From the friendly greeting upon entering to the exceptional customer service and very tasty food, you can't go wrong here. The only thing I would like to see is a bit more filling in the pie, but apart from
Excellent food and service. Really looked after us with our gluten free demands.
What a wonderful establishment. My boyfriend and I are over from Melbourne and stopped at this cute cafe because we liked the character it had, I’m so glad we did. As two hospitality workers we can be pretty fussy yet both of us agreed that the BLT was hands down the best sandwhich we have ever had,
Very friendly staff and very nice homemade food. The chocolate fudge was excellent. It was definitely homemade. The toastie I had was huge. The coffee was only lukewarm and was simply OK. Not the best but not bad either.
Had a delicious and filling lunch after a days cycling. Fantastic service and lovely courtyard setting.
Amazing food as always from Sue and the team, definitely worth the stop in Lawrence. One of my faves :)
Delicious food and coffee. Very generous sized meals and fantastic team
Fantastic breakfast, fresh cooked and really great taste. Nice coffee and tea, great menu options and really nice atmosphere as well. Great value for money. Would eat here again
Absolutely wonderful!! My friend and I have made it a habit to stop in. Good food and coffee. The staff are always caring with impeccable customer service and always send us on our way with a smile and happy bellies :)
Stopped for coffee on a wet day after biking some of the trail. Coffee good, service great, nice setting.
Lovely cafe, just went there for a quick stop on my way from Dunedin to Queenstown... Great scones ([gone] not [cone]!!!) and little snacks, as well as a nice-looking menu. Thank you!
Beautiful date loaf. So good my mother purchased two more to take away. Large toasties/paninis. Great value. Efficient, friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more! 😁
The roasted vegetable frittata is one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten.
