Review Tawa Glen Cafe - Lepperton

What a fantastic cafe! You couldn't ask for much more than what Tawa Glen Cafe has to offer. All four of us were very pleased with our food (waffles, wedges, full breakfast and salt/pepper squid) and nice coffee as well. Then there is the atmosphere, which is amazing. Cozy seating inside and stunning garden seating outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is also a wee garden to walk around out back, which is also gorgeous. We will be back. In fact, i think it will become a regular spot! It's worth the drive from wherever you live!

We walked in at lunchtime on Sunday and they happily joined tables together to seat our party of 8 and a baby. I had the salt and pepper calamari. Absolutely beautiful. The rest of the meals from the menu were terrific too. Friendly attentive staff who had many other customers they were dealing with at the same time. Food came out quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Very friendly atmosphere, good menu, and excellent service. We had crumbed fish, chips, and salad. It was cooked and crumbed perfectly, shame no variety of fish. After lunch we had a stroll around the very pleasant gardens. Set off the main road with plenty of free parking . We Will definitely be back.

It was nice to sit in the garden area under an umbrella on a sunny day. Good coffee, didn't have anything off the menu so can't comment on that. They let us stay a bit longer after closing time so that was a bonus. Really enjoyed it.

Awesome service ... I do recommend booking a table before you go as they are very busy .. they do cater for gluten people

Thanks Tawa Glen Cafe for a great birthday lunch.we were a party of 10 and all very happy with our meals. All served at the same time. The staff were friendly and polite. The only small complaint was the coffees were not hot enough. We enjoyed a stroll in the garden ( very wheelchair friendly thank you). We will definitely come back.

I love eating here and has to be one of my favorite places. It is kid and dog friendly also. Sitting outside on the garden is lovely with comfortable chairs and a blanket if cold. The service is quick and friendly. Food is always amazing. Its a place to visit early as always has reserved tables.

Beautiful day, surroundings, and the outdoor area was sheltered. Most of the staff were totally lovely. The food was good service was quick and the prices a bit on the high side. As one of the staff went by, I tried to get her attention, and was ignored. :-(

Arrived at the cafe right on opening time on Saturday morning. The very friendly and helpful ladies served us a really nice breakfast and coffees outside in the garden. They also kindly filled the dog bowl with water for our dog. A very nice cafe with a great variety of cabinet food and a good amount of parking off the road.

Lovely set up, great coffee. Food on other hand was below average. Well what we ordered at least. Kids Pancakes were clearly the small miniature ones you buy at supermarket and interested to know if the creamy mushrooms has any cream in it at all. I quite often get this dish at other places and I've never had such an odd flavoured dish. It had no flavour of mushrooms at all and more a tomato tangy sauce rather creamy mushroom.

Outstanding function last night at Tawa Glen. Food was fantastic, staff were awesome and Rachel organised everything to perfection. A great place for a function in a great setting. Will definitely return for more great food and service.

Went there with my daughter and her partner. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure all members of our party were happy including my 2 Greyhounds, who enjoyed their treats. Dog friendly cafés are hard to come by and need to be treasured. Good on Tawa Glen for accepting the challenge and making the trip worth repeating.

Hadn’t been here for years. Won’t hurry back. Average food and the service was poor depending on who you got. The icing on the cake (not) was when our plates were cleared and we looked at each other and said that was rude. Could have been a way nicer experience for my mums birthday that is for sure
Monica
Service - shocking, food was averagely on the poor side and to get wait staff roll there eyes at your table when you mention a stuff up on the coffee!! We will never return 🤬<br/>Only up side is that it’s animal friendly

Came in on saturday for lunch. Meal was pretty good, decent prices. Cold drinks were a tad pricey, and the bare tables looked a little boring, plus salt and pepper and sugars were on other side of room instead of tables which can be annoying when your sitting down having a meal. Great coffee though and love the scenery, will be back over summer

Dined here on my birthday for lunch, we were very impressed with the food and the friendly staff, really good value for money, great flavours, good coffee and lovely setting, it was a cold day so the fire inside made the ambience. The only let down was how long it took for the food and beverages to come out, was at least 40 mins. If they worked on the wait time would be a real little winner.

Dined there on mothers day. The prices are way over the top ($10 for a plain toastie and $15 for 3 chicken tenders on rice, $4.50 for a sml blackcurrent juice like McD's have) The toasties were made with plain white bread, too much cheese could make better ones at home. I had a chicken and bacon filo, it had no chicken in it and was basically just thick white sauce with a few pieces of bacon - was not nice!!!! No one at our table enjoyed their meal and we will never return.
