Great cafe with loads of cabinet food and good coffee. Great local staff keeping it together in the middle of the labour weekend madness. Thanks guys. Shop and gallery also enjoyable.

Little River Café & Gallery, A very welcoming appeal from the outside and the inside is nicely done and the atmosphere is very cozy and quirky. There was a wide range of cabinet food ranging from Burgers to Slices which all appealed tasty. Unfortunately there was no Fries, the only downfall to this place. I got a Sausage Roll and it came out quickly and it was amazing, the taste was unique and the sauce was delicious. The outside area was very arty and looked pretty with lovely greenery and umbrellas all around. After enjoying a nice lunch I proceeded to the gallery which had a range of beautiful sculptures, books, paintings, drawings and much more. The things were very unique and cool in every way. I was tempted to buy the whole shop out. Overall, definitley must stop on the commute to Akaroa and 100% recommend for a day trip from Christchurch. The Little River area was spectacular and highly recommend. 5 Stars from me!

When you stop there. The cafe has the best food ever. Always something tasty and delicious. Whether you are gluten-free or dairy free. The Gallery always has beautiful art to look at or buy. A great stop on the way to or from Akaroa. Enjoy. 😀

Lovely cafe, shop and art gallery clustered together along the main road in Little River. I had a mixed berry smoothie, which was delicious. I had unfortunately already had lunch before arriving, but the food counter looked very enticing!

We visited this place on our way to Christchurch from Akaroa. It was fantastic. The food was terrific. The art gallery was excellent. There were so many pieces of art that I would have bought if I had the money. I highly recommend you dropping in there if you are heading to or from Akaroa.

We called past the Little River Cafe' for some lunch. Although the cafe was busy we were served at our tables in a timely manner. The coffees were hot and full bodied. The beef cheek pie was super yummy too!

It's pretty much an obligatory stop on the way to Akaroa. Good food and coffee, the gallery has interesting exhibits, and the grandchildren loved the playground at the back.
