Review Bellbird Eatery - Lower Hutt

We had a wonderful evening last night at Bellbird. It was an amazing ambient evening with GREAT cocktails made by mixologist Nick and the service by the girls was second to none, always checking to see if we were ok and needed anything and very accommodating. Music playing in the background was fabulous. The platters was amazing and complimented the food and atmosphere. If ever you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night then I strongly recommend Bellbird for a great, relaxing evening with amazing ambience, staff, food and drinks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am a very regular visitor to Bellbird and I can’t fault the place. Meals are the same high standard every time. Lovely decor and the best part is the staff. Very friendly and welcoming, in fact the staff are exceptionally friendly. Pricing is reasonable. Quick service and an awesome location in the Hutt next to the Dowse. It’s very pleasant with cool music. Often 80s which I particularly love. I just keep coming back as I can’t get enough. I don’t live near by so I make a special trip just to see them. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!

First time visit. Interior felt a little dark to my wife and I. Hard eggs with the Benedict and lacked a little flavour in my opinion. Staff friendly and would vist again.

A popular place situated in the Dowse Art Gallery with pleasant outdoor seating area. Salmon rosti dish was delicious. Vietnamese chicken dish is on the small side for the price. Overall nice experience.

An impromptu stop in to the Bellbird and I spotted the chicken burger unexpectedly included hot sauce so I had a Hot Ones moment and decided to brave the potential heat. Good choice as the spice was a perfect warmer for an outside table on a crisp winter day. Yum.

We often have breakfast and lunch at Bellbird. Last night we met friends and enjoyed 5 different cocktails that Nick made for us. He delivered the drinks and answered all our questions about them. We ordered the large sharing platter which had an impressive array of food that was tasty fresh and abundant. The girls who waited on us were soo friendly attentive and we shared some humorous banter. Loved the Motown music and ambience. We will be definitely returning often. First night last night at Summer opening hours shared a beautiful platter with friends. The mixologist created some amazing cocktails - the Old Fashion knocked my socks off with its citrus infused ice and the Espresso Martini is definitely recommended! Great staff banter too! We'll definitely be back!

Perhaps the best service I've had in years! The server noticed I was waiting for someone so came to check if I wanted a drink while I waited. My friend soon turned up so the server popped back over to see if my friend would like to add a drink to the order. It's not a big thing but it shows an awareness of the customers and their needs that I don't see very often these days. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our main Server (short Petite female, long brown hair, tattoos - if this is you, you rock!) pulled us over to another till to 'skip the line' to pay. Again, it's the small things, but they're delightful. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great. An excellent cafe and my new favourite in Lower Hutt!

After a not so great start (ignored by the server, but I’m guessing it was a mistake) Aroha saved the day. She was brilliant, looked after us and made sure our meal was delicious. Well done Bellbird!

I had the spicy lentil soup, it was amazing! Not overly spicy (which I was a little worried about), but definitely flavoursome! The chipotle chicken tidbits served like croutons on top were a perfect balance to the soup flavours. I will definitely be going back for it again. Oh yes, and when my coffee arrived and was only warm, not hot, I asked for it to be microwaved or a little hot water added. The two young people behind the counter (one being the barista) insisted with a smile, on making me another coffee and I'm happy to say it was perfect temp and flavour when it arrived. No delays, smiles all the way and great food. A wonderful dining experience.

Great food for a very good price. Beautiful location and even the noise control is great! Simple and inexpensive but very effective. Here you can have a delicious meal and even have a conversation without screaming. Highly recommended. I don't understand why other places don't follow their example.

We attended here during peak hour lunch time, it was full and packed. We still got great service though and a wonderful meal, the tasty factors we’re excellent and the portions were filling. <br/>Nice place to have lunch. <br/>

I arrived at 12.21pm knowing I had to be somewhere at 1pm.<br/>The staff behind the counter was really friendly and asked how she could help. I said I wanted the Welly On A Plate Burger but I needed to know how long it would take. The chef said "10 minutes?"<br/>This worked perfect for me so I grabbed a seat. Wasn't too busy but busy enough.<br/>The atmosphere has a mix of classy meets relaxed.<br/>The chef lied! The burger took 9 minutes and it was amazing! The pork belly was tender. The tequila infused pineapple was juicy and sweet. The fries were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.<br/>I was in and out in 15 minutes and ran back to say "Thank you! Food was delicious!"<br/>Thank you Bellbird. I will be back :)

A hidden gem in the Hutt. We had an early Friday night dinner and were well rewarded. Great relaxing yet modern decor. It got pretty busy so book for 615. It closes at 8pm tho.
