Review Kiwi Cafe & Restaurant - Lower Hutt

This cafe is little gem hidden on High St, Lower Hutt. Had lunch with my family here. Food was fantastic! Freshly made, price is reasonably good for the big portions you receive. Fluffy pancakes with topping of crystalized bananas, bacon, fresh cream and syrup on the side. Chicken fettuccini was rich and creamy. Has a little kick of spice in it. Huge portion! Very filling but absolute delish! Omelette cooked to perfection. Eggs Benedict was good, mushrooms well cooked. However eggs were a little overcooked therefore no running yolk and the hollandaise looked more like mayonaise but overall it was very tasty! Waffle was fresh, moist with a touch of crunch to the crust. I purchased a carrot cake to take home. It wasn't the best carrot cake I've had but it was still edible. Cake was a little dense and icing was quite firm. It seemed it was from the night before but the flavours were there. The service was great and friendly. If you have a big appetite and you enjoy a good hearty meal then this place would be the best place to be!

Straight away we were greeted with a friendly welcome & given menus, great customer service. My partner and I both had the hash stack with eggs it was delicious everything on the plate was perfect & the sauce was so yum! The coffee was average but I think it was the coconut milk. The food also took a wee bit longer than expected to come out as there was only one other table of 3 in the cafe when we ordered but it was worth the wait. Despite this, we will be back for sure 😊

When I got the creamy mushrooms, I didn't think they meant creamy as in creamy with cheese. Nonetheless, still tasty but a bit too heavy for me. The smoothies here are great though.

Really lovely staff, all of them smiley and chatty, also very switched on. Food was great, great value for money and the cabinet food also looked amazing and fresh. For a busy place on a Saturday morning, it was a calming and enjoyable experience.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming cafe, and it exceeded all my expectations! The coffee was top-notch, and the cheese scone was simply divine - a perfect pairing. I had the most delightful experience at Kiwi Cafe when I went there for lunch today with my family! From the moment We stepped in, We were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The interior was beautifully decorated with cozy seating arrangements that made us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow! The chicken and bacon pasta was absolutely fantastic. The flavours were absolutely fantastic. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, a creamy, rich texture that was simply divine. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the dressing was a delightful complement. Coffee was so good. But what truly sets Kiwi cafe apart is their attention to detail and customer service. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and even made some excellent recommendations. It's clear that they take pride in providing an exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu. I highly recommend giving Kiwi Cafe a try. You won't be disappointed!

Great service. Had a wee buzz going on. Quite popular. I only went in for a coffee and a scone. Server was friendly and made time to chat even tho they were busy. Impressed with cleanliness. Wiping tables down and spraying some anti bacterial spray between guests. reassuring. Coffee was perfect. Will be going back.

Absolutely delicious food and outstanding service by the staff, this is the second day in a row coming and the food has been beyond excellent both times. The atmosphere is constantly buzzing, staff cheerful and welcoming.

hidden little cafe here in Avalon Lower Hutt, the yummiest cafe I’ve ever been to since the day I’ve come it’s been my go to every time and every meal is always satisfying, they will not disappoint. Staff are also friendly 🙂

Fantastic little café with lots of potential to become a must visit institution. The menu has all the classic favourites, and the cabernet food is equally appealing, particularly the carrot cake with cream cheese icing and walnuts. The coffee is good and will definitely put you in a great mood. They have a selection of wines and spirits, if you feel that the coffee isn't doing the trick and need more time chatting with your friends. Staff are great and handle online Uber eats as well as walk in customers well. Overall this is a café that can establish an excellent resurgence for the Suburb and is worth stopping and checking the place out.

Kiwi Cafe is 💯 OUTSTANDING! The food is dlish, portion size is QUALITY! The wait time is non existent for what we ordered! Family of 6 so we are used to waitingggggg! This is a great place to frequent, you won't be disappointed.

Had a perfect medium rib eye with Diane sauce, a freshly squeezed orange juice that was to die for, and took some Oreo caramel brownie home. Friendly, attentive staff. Will be going back as often as I can, as I want to try everything!

Staff are all very friendly and prices and portions are more than generous.  Cafe is small with limited seating but well done for making it work! :)<br/><br/>Would definitely recommend this establishment!
