Review Tutaki Cafe - Lower Hutt

Our second breakfast at Tutaki Cafe and the food was delicious. Scrambled eggs with a very generous side of beautifully cooked mushrooms. To finish, we couldn’t resist a freshly baked donut with Nutella centre. Wow, best donut I’ve had in a long while - light and fluffy. Very friendly team and great location. Look forward to trying lunch sometime soon.

The food here is amazing. I had a salmon steak and it was delicious. It was perfectly cooked. The soy butter sauce the salmon was swimming in was a perfect compliment for the salmon. And there was plenty of sauce, which is so important to me! The potato rosti was a little bit greasy but it didn't detract from the deliciousness of this dish. Then, the cakes in the cabinet... Oh my goodness! They all looked so damn good, I wasn't sure which one to get coz I wanted all of them! I got the chocolate cake and this was no normal chocolate cake! It had layers of ganache and other deliciousness. It was so rich. The waitstaff were almost TOO efficient! One of the waitstaff cleared plates off the table almost the second the last mouthful of food was eaten! 5 stars for everything except 4 stars for atmosphere because it was a bit crowded. Will definitely be back here.

Great place to have lunch. Awesome food. And really yummy home made French treats. Another point to note is that the cafe is not too noisy. It is an absolute gem of a place to meet a colleague. The ceilings are properly treated for sound and music is not too loud.

Friendly service! Really yummy Sweet and Sour milkshake worth a go! Steak and Chips were really nice the wedges could have been cooked slightly less... But really awesome lunch!

Came here with an entertainment book voucher and I can say i will be back. Coffee was good, service was great and food amazing. Highly recommend A+++

Happy and grateful to dine in to this place. Love the atmosphere of the café. The Café is spacious and look and feels cozy. Hubby and I had breakfast and a late lunch. The food is delicious. Reasonable price. Will come and dine here again with our kids. Highly recommend.

Good food, swift service, nice coffee. We were sat outside the cafe, in a common area, so ambience was a bit lacking but looks much nicer inside, from what little I saw. Seemed a little pricey for the size of the portions, but the kids menu is small but good - pancakes have anise or something in them and are absolutely delicious! 4.5 stars+

5 stars all around at this beautiful cafe. Located near dowse art museum and in town hall. Plenty to do and close to lower hutt city. Delicious meals ( steak n chips, fish and chips and Thai beef salad.) Nicely cooked and presented and was great value for price. Definitely recommend visiting here if you're in Lower Hutt. Thank you

For our Christmas lunch, my sister booked us into to Tutaki Cafe in the Lower Hutt Events Centre. We attended the first seating at 11 and it was lovely being warmly greeted and entering the beautifully decorated premises fit for Christmas cheer. We were welcomed with glasses of bubbles before being seated. The walk through of the buffet stations to take photos was highly impressive since the presentation of the food was exceptional. I tried a section of individually served salads including blue cheese and walnut green salad, quinoa toasted vegetable and orange salad and a pine nut beetroot honey mustard salad. The salads were divine and with a few notable selections from the bread station including the lavosh and Christmas apricot loaf, it was a lovely opener to lunch. For mains, I gravitated toward the Champagne ham and turkey stations with vanilla apples, honey glazed kumara, heirloom carrots, raddishes and purple cauliflower with various glazes and sauces along with stuffing. The carvery was delicious. From the other buffet mains, I enjoyed the potato gnocchi with blue vein cheese and sundried tomatoes, roasted root vegetables and sumac salmon, which was a tad overcooked. The gnocchi was delicious. The dessert tables were extraordinary and simply a visual symphony to cast your eyes upon. From the many options, I settled for a mini pavlova with cream dusted with freeze dried raspberry and fresh fruit, a amaretti trifle with berry and mango mousse and a lemon macaron. I ordered a soy latte to accompany my dessert and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, our Christmas lunching experience was fabulous, so relaxing, an impressive range of food, fantastic service and a warm festive ambiance whereby the various tables of couples through to families all seemed to enjoy lunch too. Highly recommended!

The staff and food are fantastic. When my daughter didn't finish her meal, our waitress came to check if the meal was alright and offered to provide a replacement meal. We have never had that level of service before anywhere! I highly recommend Tūtaki Cafe.

Went for brunch, this venue is consistently very good. From the coffee to the food this was of high quality. The venue is clean and tidy, the service was very good. I enjoyed the salmon hash and my husband had eggs and bacon. The eggs scrambled were excellent. Make this on of your go to when visiting Lower Hutt.

Excellent place to dine, food is absolutely delicious.The staff are friendly and incredible at there job love the service even in the rush time.

We've been here several times now for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The kids really love the hot chocolates during the hot chocolate event. Fantastic service from the staff, delicious food!

lovely place to eat. customer service is on point. the staff are so welcoming and attentive to ensure us customers enjoy our experience. staff is great especially the guy in the purple shirt, very friendly. the food is so delicious with firm prices. chefs certainly cook their kai with love. that’s what i love when i eat out :)
