Review Thai Express - Lower Hutt

Felt like having Thai food. Self-order kiosk gave the ease of fast food place, service was warm as the neighbourhood restaurant in a close knit community. Loved the experience.

Beautiful venue, and great food. Very big portions and spicy is spicy! Drinks are a bit on the pricey side however the price of a big meal ($20 for mine) balances this out. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was surprisingly quiet, which sort off worked out as we had forgotten to book and had a fairly large party.

The best ever. Soo fast but such good quality food. Staff are awesome and I come back all the time.

Some of the staff were quite downbeat and difficult to feel well communicated with. Food was overall great, although my lemongrass chicken was very ammonia-y. Still yum. Nice space, good ordering system and cute little shop too.

Great Experience. Clean Restaurant. Food to table was very quick. Great place to go for anyone wanting some quick yummy thai. Ordered the Spring rolls, Roti with Peanut sauce to start. Mains - Crispy Chicken with Garlic rice and the Chilli Chicken + Fried egg. Delicious. #ThaiFood

The food is real yum. Love the fried noodles dish. Only downer is the servings aren’t the biggest. Worth paying the extra $4 for the ‘extra noodles’ option.

Great eatery. No personal service as you order at a booth but food came quickly and it was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Stopped in Lower Hutt and googled Thai food and ended up here. Nice food, well presented, tasty and at a great price . Quick service, we dined in . Happy to recommend Aroy Thai Eatery.

Probably my least favourite Aroy Thai in New Zealand and I've bern to all minus the Sylvia Park one. Very nice staff. I ordered the massaman curry and the smell reminded me of the JB Hi Fi in Wellington. As for taste, it was pretty tasty. Would come here again.

They give you a good portion of meat and noodles . Can’t really complain .

Ordered online, was expecting a wait.. but I was wrong, super fast delivery, everything still hot and food was so tasty and made with love, an absolute must for any foodie, thank-you beautiful people, the best I've had ever and reasonably priced

Great food and a tidy setting but a little sterile feeling. Food still excellent, though recieved my main before my entre 🤔 Went back and received entre and main at the same time.

Place is not that big, it's clean, service was good, food was excellent, i love their dumpling soup, everything was fresh...highly recommended 👍

My favorite place to go. Food comes out very fast and always taste good. My favorites are Thai Laksa, pad thai noodle and duck noodle soup. Good customer service, the place is always clean and tidy. cute little place to have a lunch date

Had dinner here tonight with my husband, we were on our way to KFC but passing here I recalled some<br/>Good reviews so we stopped in. <br/>Place is lovely, staff were very friendly food was delicious, I love the photos on the walls of the meal choices, that’s my kind of choosing what to have to eat!!<br/>My husband loved his meal will be back.

Don’t go for the atmosphere, but go for the incredibly friendly, and FAST service (seriously how is it even possible to make food so fast). I am always satisfied, every single visit. Great selection of food. You’ll always find suitable seating. Simply don’t judge a book by its cover! You won’t regret it

First time trying Thai Food in Lower Hutt with my partner. There are lots on the menu to choose from with a good reasonable price. Good service, friendly staff and meals came out pretty quick. Delicious meals & will continue to come here whenever we feel like Thai Food or in the area.

My partner and I come here frequently and we love it. My only complaint is there are too many dishes to choose from you spend 10 minutes deciding what to eat lol

Really enjoy the food here, especially the roti with peanut satay sauce. The service is friendly and prompt. Would come here for lunch as often as I could 😊

Great service. Plenty of seating available.<br/>Delicious food, I really enjoy the spring rolls and noodles. But my all time favourite dish is the Red Thai Curry. Quite possibly my favourite Asian dish I've ever tried. Delicious curry with well cooked chicken, well complimenting vegetables and the perfect amount of spice for me.<br/>I would highly recommend them.

Reasonable place to eat especially in Lower Hutt. Only had a few things from there with most of it being good but the soup being a bit lackluster in taste. Overall, good.

Pretty good Thai food for the price. I enjoyed the satay chicken and the roti is yum. They make the food very quick aswell so not long waiting around.

An indescribable mass of gelatinous filth. <br/>The thing that was delivered in place of a "massaman" curry was obviously from another dimension entirely as it tasted alien and all kinds of wrong. A definite miss.

Food is great, the venue itself isn't the best. The portion sizes were very generous and a great value for money. I've been here twice and both times I have found the place to be slightly dirty. Both times I had noticed the cups were filthy, they had fingerprint marks all over and lip stains from previous customers and the seats were all tattered and torn and quite sticky.

I love this place for quick tasty relatively affordable Thai food. Open every day - including public holidays. The Larb Duck is to die for!!!  The staff are friendly and work hard. One even remembered me from their other shop in Hawkes Bay - after I'd been away for a year. The ingredients are fresh and sauces are made in house. It is conveniently located on the main street in Lower Hutt! I go back at least once a week!

Very little Thai on the menu. Panang curry didn't taste like any Panang I have ever had. Stuffed mushrooms were soaked in grease - almost inedible. definitely do not recommend - spend a bit more and get some decent food elsewhere.

Delicious, cheap and fast! Got hooked on this place when I lived in Palmerston North and that restaurant was always busy. I was happy to see this restaurant when I moved to Lower Hutt and the food is just as tasty! Come here nearly every week and usually get the Chicken Green Curry and my partner gets the Deep Fried Chicked Noodle Soup.

Very modern, clean and brightly lit restaurant. Friendly service and reasonable prices with a great range of food. The food arrives at lightning speed; it felt as if my cousins and I had barely sat down before the meals started to arrive. I had the beef rice noodle soup. Normally in asian restaurants you would also receive extra condiments such as chili sauce, sugar, soy sauce, pepper etc when ordering noodle soups. This was not provided, but surprisingly it was absolutely delicious as it was... And I'm the type who loves to add heaped spoonfuls of sugar into my pho. Not that it was super sweet, just that it was so tasty and flavorful, I did not need to add anything. My cousin loves the curry puffs and sometimes we drive all the way from Stokes Valley just to get them. A warning though, my cousin ordered fried rice and asked for "very hot" and she couldn't handle it, so make sure you're a true heat fiend before asking for maximum spiciness.

Delicious food at reasonable prices, and they're always very quick here. It functions nicely as both a takeaway and diner-type exprience. The simple decor of the resturant is nice. Good use of red and beige on the design.<br/><br/>It could be improved if:<br/><br/>-the menu had some extras. I wish you were just able to order some extra roti, or rice, or peanut sauce on the side, but there isn't any option to do this.<br/><br/>-they're a bit stingey on the satay sauce with the roti bread. The bread and sauce are just so yummy but you don't get hardly any sauce and as I said before, there isn't any option to add extra.<br/><br/>So, yes, a couple of small improvements could be made, but this is definitely becoming a fast favourite of mine in Lower Hutt.
