Due to being newly reopened, me and me partner were keen to go in and check it out. Service was really good and I found the waitress really friendly and attentive, the food was definitely lacking though. I'm all for a pub meal, especially if there's lots of beer in my glass and salt on my chips, however the food felt like it had about 2.5 seconds worth of attention put it. This came through with appearance and lack of flavour. Might stick to pizza next time which I've heard are winners.

Went for lunch with my 5 year old son. Standard food pub, good prices and fast service. Kids menu was standard but he enjoyed it all.

I had the $10 pizzas. the toppings were decent for $10, however the base was undercooked and soggy. it was also pretty obvious the dough wasn't fresh and had been taken out of the fridge because we saw the chef come out and get it with a glass of raspberry cola. At all of the bars we went to staff immediately greeted you with asking for I.D, it just puts you off.

About 13 of us, 8 adults and 5 childen arrived without booking for lunch. We were told that we should have booked because there were so many of us which is a fair call but we would have been put in the Function Room shut away from the main area which I would not have liked. Because there was another large group already in the function room they moved the tables around in the 'dinning' room adjoining the main area which I preferred. The food was resonably priced and adequate. The childrens meals were $7.00, mini hotdogs, chicken nuggets and one other choice I can't remember and chips which the parents in the group found acceptable. The Pizzas were a good price at $10, about three people had the big breakfast, $18 and they were disappointed with it. I had the steak with bernaise sauce, $20, which was cooked to perfection, only wish there was a bit of salad along with the chips. Service was Ok, I think the staff were very busy and I will at least book next time but ask not to be shut away in the function room

My husband & I use to have dinner here 2 years ago and it was delicious back then! We decided to have dinner here on 20/06/14 for my birthday. We ordered soy nibbles/steak/pork belly. It was a total disappointment. The soy nibbles were drowned in soy and tasted like I was eating salt on its own (I'm a salt lover too). My steak came out tough and dry with no salad incl on menu just chips. Husbands pork belly was small enough for a toddler. They either have a new chef? Saving money on smaller portions I don't mind that if the quality is worth it. We spent $80 there not worth it all. Worst meal we've had in a long long time dining out.

Went here recently with a mixed group of adults and children. It didn't seem very busy and it was only our group and another table of two who were there to eat. Despite this service was slow and it took an hour for the first of our meals to come out.<br/><br/>When the food did arrive, it wasn't the greatest. The mashed spud that came with the steak was cold and the meal itself was somewhat unflattering for the price paid. <br/><br/>The pizza was basic but fine (It was only $10!)<br/><br/>All the staff were friendly enough but i certainly wouldn't rush back here for the food.

My boyfriend and i went here for dinner (Pizza) and drinks..... the pizza came out really quickly and was absolutely delicious, friendly and courteous staff made this a lovely evening out. Would certainly return, and have no hesitation in recommending highly to all!

This place is possibly the worst place ever! Honestly, the staff were rude, there was this 1 waitress who was using the "C" word and the "F" word in a disagreement with another staff. We ordered our food, pizza, after 10 mins of waiting, a staff member came over and said their pizza machine had broken so there will be a wait, 5mins later, pizza comes, it was burnt, extremely thin ,bland, couldn't see any pieces of chicken, no idea what we were eating. Overall, the staff were rude, the short waitress who was swearing her head off looked mean and we were actually scared to confront her thinking she would actually start swinging! Terrible terrible place, terrible atmosphere, food wasn't worth the $32 I paid :(

I went here last night with my friends for dinner and wow the service was poor. No smiles, the tables were sticky, one of the workers was eating his ribs at the front bar where everyone could could clearly see him. A customer was waiting to be served while he continued to eat his ribs. <br/>However the food did come out reasonably fast as we did order 4 mains. Food was ok. Pork Ribs were well over cooked, meat was tough. We also ordered the fish and chips, green chicken curry and chicken fettucine. All our meals I thought were way over priced for the amount of portions you get. $20 for fish and chips all u get is 2 smal pieces of fish a handful of chips and a side salad. Chicken fettucine came in a small bowl for $23! Green chicken curry came in the same sized bowl with a very small bowl of sticky rice $22. I would price those meals $10 -$12 each I wouldn't go here again. Rip off prices and bad service.

What a cool little place for dinner! The food was amazing!!! Well past our expectations and the staff were really lovely and helpful too! We are heading there again tonight and looking forward to another great meal. The steak is amazing, definitely recommended, and they make the BEST garlic bread pizza in Wellington!

Wow! My partner and I decided to try the Parrot &amp; Jigger for dinner tonight. Being a Monday night it was extremely quiet. And being a pub, you expect normal pub fare. But no! Our meals were exquisite! My partner ordered the pork belly, and I had the ricotta &amp; spinach stuffed chicken. Everything was perfect - I kid you not. The presentation was amazing. My partner also made the comment that every part of the meal was the same temperature - hot. Usually you'll get cold veggies on your plate or something. Not here. Speaking of veggies... I have NEVER enjoyed carrots so much in my life! Beautiful!<br/>We walked away absolutely blown away with our meals. Very VERY impressed. Will definitely be going back! We eat out quite regularly, but that was the best meal we have had in ages.

As only just moved to Lower Hutt from wellington, I've become a regular at this bar. The great selection of craft beers is why we first went . They definitely do the best steaks, always being cooked perfectly and their pizzas are delicious to nibble on!!<br/>The staff although young are very friendly, always refilling our glass! the deck will be great in summer time

Had dinner here last night. Food was amazing and presented really well. Service wasn't as good as expected - Looked like she would rather not be there. Lovely place for a night out and the chocolate treat at the end top it off. Thanks guys!

Hi, firstly would like to say that the service was great and comfortable pub surroundings. Thought I would go and check this out with my partner. Unfortunately, walked out disappointed after attempting to consume a fat saturated fried chicken meal, which also included dry shoestring fries(huge portion)and a neglected coleslaw(huge chunks of cabbage, no seasoning). Had actually been told it was going to be a breast portion...and it wasn't!!!!!!!Wasn't at all what I had expected. Terrible presentation...def not going back. However, my partner loved the rib steak with portabello mushrooms....(no greens at all!!!!not even garnishing..but he didn't mind that)

We also went to this restaurant to use an entertainment book voucher. <br/><br/>Food was okay, but came out extremely quickly and was luke-warm. Made us wonder if was all prepared earlier and just heated to order?

Fairly standard pub-style food with reasonable prices and a pleasant bar environment. Our service was friendly, although we waited a fair while for our meals to arrive. I had the crumbed pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and salad while my partner had the chicken breast wrapped in bacon with potato gratin. Both were slightly overcooked but not excessively so. Great to be able to use our entertainment book coupons here.
