The staff are so lovely here! This isn't our local shop but we always stop here when we are in the area. The pricing is a bit high but I can confirm the serving size is generous and the food is delicious! The kids really enjoy the homemade burgers here!

Fish n chips were Ok. The fish was fairly thin, and I found a piece of wood in my hotdog😄. The food was acceptable. I got served before those who had ordered before me. Always get quick service when you are a large biker, and behave like one. Give it a try. .

Superb fish n chips and Chinese. Highly rate. Ignore the bad reviews about 1 onion ring, not their fault they only ordered one

We come to this fish shop from up north and have always been satisfied. The lady is far from rude and very helpful. Wontons small but delicious. Had a choice of fish and we chose butterfish which was next level in freshness. Shrimp fried rice was nice heaps of shrimp/prawn.

Really nice service, massive menu and most importantly really good fish and chips! We got shoe string chips (great like Macca's used to be), fish, mushroom and wantons. All really good.

Tasty battered fish and crispy chips, and recommendations by owner on fish options. Seating outside shop under tree is perfect

Jolly Good All-Salt Chips , Would Eat Again! Dennis (My Guinea Pig) Loved the meal! for sure would come back to this place with my family! Although the pork bun isnt quite at golden palace level, the chips and fish sure surpass!

Just a bit of an honest / disappointing review. As most kiwi's are my partner and I are well acquainted with a good feed of fish and chips and always expect good quality when it comes to coastal fish and chip shops. Sadly tonight we were disappointed. We ordered 4 crumbed fish and some chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets were fine. The fish however was uneditable, it was slimy, translucent and extremely mushy.

We gave the lovey people at the shop a call and I had a genuinely nice chat with the lady there, who explained because of the time of year (early January) there was very limited options when it came to choice of fish and they couldn't easily get any good quality fish that day. Although she was absolutely lovely I do not think they should be selling fish at that poor quality, especially at the same prices as say Tarakihi .

My partner quickly phoned the other Eastbourne fish and chip shop who luckily had some Tarakihi. Just sucks a little bit when you aren't even offered your money back.

The only suggestion I have with this one is to ask for the type of fish before ordering it, other than that, the people are lovely and here's hoping everything else is also. Benefit of the doubt.

photos for reference ;) although its hard to see the taste. Ive uploaded one from the second shop aswell.

We visit this chippy whenever we come to the beach. Friendly service and the food is always hot and tasty. They also have chinese which we havent tried yet but it looks good.

We went here a couple of weeks ago on a recommendation. The lady who served us was very nice and this is more than I can say for the food. Shortly after ordering, I heard the sound of a microwave in the back. The batter on the fish is very doughy and the fish only edible if the thick batter was removed. We also had a curry roll which was obviously the item that had been nuked and was soggy even though it had been deep fried also. Wouldnt go back
