Review Route 6 Cafe And Bar - Lumsden

Love this place. A must stop for body fuel whenever I go down South. Great burgers, nice coffee and very friendly and accommodating staff. Perhaps not the most suitable to dine-in with small kids but can always take away and eat across at the playground weather permitted.

Great staff! Super friendly. Awesome coffee and Bloody amazing burgers. I got the HQ burger and was so stoked on it. Such good flavours and all the right stuff to set me up for the rest of the day. Nice work team! I’ll be back 👌

This place is awesome and a must stop for this 60’s cafe. Great decor, i found the food to be tasty fantastic diner food. Set in a quite town on Lumsden and not a long way from Queenstown airport and on the way to see the Worlds Fastest Indian exhibit in Invercargill. They spent a lot getting this set up as you will find.

A great place to break your car trip. Plenty of choices food-wise. The onion rings were nice and crispy and they do a lovely cheesy cheese scone. Toilets are clean, staff are friendly, seats are comfy and the milkshakes have lots of chocolate.

I am sooo happy as soon As I walked in the door. with the big car there. Made smile strait away. The ladies there were soo nice. Service was fast for a little cafe. I got a Brekky bun. Oh my god. So juicy and flavoursome the bun was fresh. And tasty. And the sauce on it. Wonderful. I also got a croissant. That was huge. And tasty tomato was nice and sweet. And my cappuccino was delicious, thank you ladies

Needed somewhere to wait for my shuttle to Queenstown and stumbled upon this unique cafe/bar/post shop and I am so glad I did! The best eggs bene ever! And the service was top notch 👌 An absolute must if you are ever traveling through Lumsden 😊

The cafe has a peaceful atmosphere and a cozy vibe. Ordering was easy and the food arrived quickly. The eggs were close to perfect but needed to be just a little bit more runny. You could tell that quality ingredients were being used. Overall I’m giving this restaurant 4/5 stars.

We stopped here on the way from Queenstown to Invercargil. It was so good we had to stop on the way back too! The burgers are the best I've had and the waffles with chicken and bacon were AMAZING. The staff are amazing, attentive and happy to see you. It's a nice chill vibe. I'll definitely be back!

Made an unplanned stop here and did not regret! We all ordered 3 burgers and a wrap and the portion sizes were well above expectations. The beef burger was juicy with the burger sauce amazing. The Chicken burgers were also juicy and cooked to perfection, plus the gluten free bun tasted almost identical to the standard bun. Their hot drinks were also great. If we were to pass through Lumsden again, this would be a definite stop!!

Brilliant place to stop and have a break in Lumsden. It is a must do for me. Claims to have the best cheese rolls in New Zealand. Why limit it to New Zealand, they are simply the best cheese rolls full stop. Add to that great coffee, good service and bacon butties to die for, stop in you will thank yourself for doing so.

Stayed the night in Lumsden and googled eateries for breakfast for another fine October day in Te Waiponamu and Route 6 Cafe and Bar popped up. Beaut atmosphere and awesume themed Cafe and Bar. "Lumsden as Lumsden gets". We orderd good ole Eggs Benne and eggs with mushrooms. The homemade hash brown are devine.

This place is super cute! The staff were wonderful, swift service with a smile and the burgers had good "homemade" flavours

Friendly staff, cafe was busy, hot chocolate was so yummy and the eggs benedict cooked perfectly. Highly recommended stopping here when passing through Lumsden. Prices are pretty reasonable for size of serving.

Stopped over for a flat white. Pick up orders were down the walkway to the back. I rang the bell and a lady promptly arrived to take my order. The coffee arrived in a few minutes. Coffee was a nice smooth brew.

Awesome cafe with great food and friendly staff. The coffee was perfect. I’d highly recommend the ‘Convertible Mustang Sandwich’ - it was delicious!
