Review Lim Fast Food Centre - Mangere

My partner and I were looking for dinner nearby and found this gem on Google Maps with a 4.9 star rating. This place was fantastic! We ordered a tray and tried four different dishes - lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable beef, and another veggie full dish. It was all good and at a remarkably good price. I would eat here again. Tomorrow night even if I weren't leaving town. Haha! I asked three different locals in line if they liked this place and the uniting comment, interestingly, was each person mentioned the food was "fresh."

Great food and lots of it for low cost! I had a sweet and warm older lady behind the counter, she was very patient with my inability to make a decision. So I ordered 5 different dishes which came in a huge platter for only $17. It lasted me 3 meals! Also worth noting that it didn't taste to me like there was MSG added to the food. Was delicious enough without it.

I can't believe this place makes better chicken nibbles than KFC does wicked wings really really really darn good food and value for $

It's ok...I love the chopsuey...the portions and trays of food is huge!!! Nice staff

I stay out west now and still make the trip to get some chicken and chips from here, still only $10 for 10 nibbles and chips, everywhere else is now at $15 or even $16 for 10 chicken nibbles and chips, still the best chicken from 20years ago, always moist, juicy, with crispy outside 😋

I always get egg fu yong and chicken fried rice. Food is always straight bussin’.

Best place to go to get a hot meal on the go. But it's a long wait well at least 5-10 minutes wait. But they will not let you down. What ever you order is always made before you get your order meaning freshly made. Plus there chicken nibbles are to die for. It's so nice and juicy as well as its nicely seasoned and crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside. 👌👌 I give them a 5/5 for that and they are so friendly as well.

This place is very generous. Its almost like they are trying to give away food. They stuff the boxes which cost a measly 5$ or $7, till they cant be closed. This has happenned not just once or twice but every single time. I have gone here 50+ times in hangry desperation and have seen them do the same with every other customer before and after me. They are extremely kind with their portions to the point it makes you wonder if they make any profit at all or are doing this as a form of charity. Always busy with customers whenever I go. Thank you for feeding us here down in the south. Stay safe guys. ♥️

Lim's is an awesome Mangere East icon that you should experience at least once in your lifetime. I bought a $17 chicken wings and chips special and topped it up with an extra $3 chips to make it $20 all up and took that as my plate to a Sunday whanau lunch. Pheeeorr!! The cuzzies and I were teleported back to our youth as we opened the greasy layers of newsprint and tucked into the juicy chicken wings in a light crispy coating and Lims trademark soggy chips (I forgot how much I love the chips!). And it was cooked by the same whanau that served it up to us over 20 years ago! Like I said, ICON!! Be warned though that this type of kai isn't going to bust out with Keto or Crossfit endorsements anytime soon, but as a rare treat it's yummy and a good way to start off a korero with the kids "Back in my day..."

Food always available and ready to serve immediately. Staff really knows the expectation of customers. Highly recommend. Price is affordable and worth the value for what you paid for. Many cooks and they really give their best in putting extra efforts in their dish, as I watched. I live out West and time was after pm, they are opened with the Large silver platter and foiled wrapped kept the heat for an hour. Lims Food, was for my family who'd been on their feet working during this time of a funeral. It was a cold night, I was very happy, to hear that the family said the food is still hot and to my suprise, 3 people drove out from Teirirangi to Lims shop quickly to get more food cause the food is really nice to eat. My family are very pleased with Lims Fast Food. Mr Gordan Ramsay when you visit NZ not far from Airport, at least try and taste Lims Fast Food

The place where most of us mangere east born 90s babies called a poor man's paradise especially after school. All you needed was $2 to fill yourself with a massive amount of chips. And $10 to feed a whole squad of friends.This to us felt like home, I was blessed to have lims in my childhood. Takes me back to some really good times. Thank you lims

Not able to serve myself....my Chinese Takeaways was served by a lovely lady and loaded to the top and Bloody tasty. $12 compared with $17 in Whangarei! Well done Mangere.

This takeaway is always busy, i thought i'd try the cheeseburger, and i would say it is a must, and especially very filling. Service is average, but friendly

Best Chinese takeaway place. Awesome quick fresh and delicious. This is definitely a favourite of our family. Good value for food aswell. Definitely recommend.

Good Battered chicken nibbles, heaps of flavor and the chickens always moist. Been coming here ever since i was a little kid so that's probably why i like them so much. Just a normal chinese takeaways with above average chicken nibbles 👍

if some of you foodies happen to be at this part of mangere during twilight hours and looking for a quick bite I recommend lim fast food and fast/junk food it is, where yer order is cooked at lightning speed and u not mind if yer sweet/sour pork or won hons is just 75% fatty off cuts and cooked in a run down store where staff bicker and not care about service and/or quality as long it is somting to eat. Mind u i suggest their buffet selection is not bad than their set menu, I like the fish nuggets which is actual fish than processed and the chook wings, Luv or hate et, give this place a try and hang out with the locals if brave enough

Chinese Pick and Mix foods are Good But their Burgers SUCK . . We bought 2 Hawaiian burgers . . And it was literally a bun that smelt like damp cloth, a meat pattie, a pinch of grated carrots, 1 slice of pineapple and a spoonfull of Garlic . .  Why do you need a spoon full of Garlic?? It was seriously the worst burger ever!! . . With this said however,  their chips are pretty good to - they have the white chips not the yellow ones . .

You can tell by the variety of hot foods on offer that Lim's is a local favourite and is highly frequented. Mother and I were astounded by the quantity of food that $5 fish, chips and potato fritters provides - this place surely is the last bastion of $5 meals in Auckland that you may struggle to finish. We also tried the generous sweet'n sour pork.<br/><br/>Alas, the praise here is for quantity - there was nothing remarkable or enticing about the flavours of each of our dishes. Too easy to resign the leftovers to the compost bin.

They provide a good quantity of meal, but quality its pretty average.
