A good Thai restaurant. The Tom Ka soup was excellent. The satay sauce was too much on the coconut side for my likings. The other dishes were good. They have lots of vegan options which I 👏🏻 for. Only 1 big downer: The kitchen exhaust seems to develop too little power, so the smoky fumes remain in the restaurant. This is extremely unfortunate and the clothes stink accordingly afterwards. Nevertheless, this Thai is absolutely recommendable.

Went here tonight for dinner - absolutely awesome. All of our meals were so delicious and the portions were very generous. Great atmosphere and the view is spectacular. Strongly recommend! Everyone thinks of the fish and chip place in Mangonui but this is so much better!

Devils Advocate (Chiwi)

Surprisingly good Thai restaurant especially given the scarcity of local food outlets. We had the Pad Thai & the fried fish. Pad Thai is pretty much the same regardless of where you go. The fish was unusual in that it was pieces of fish as opposed to a full fish. All in all, a good example of a Thai restaurant in a surprising setting.

Best Tom Yum we've ever had!! We don't get to Mangōnui often, but we've got a good reason to come back, now. Delicious food with generous portion sizes. Left feeling thoroughly stuffed and satisfied. If you're a real fan of spice, pick the "bloody hot" option to get your lips and tongue tingling! Duck curry was smooth and creamy, and the sizzling beef was tender and went fantastic with the coconut rice - highly recommended!

This is our favourite Thai restaurant hands down! We come everytime we are visiting the Far North from Auckland. The food is outstanding in all areas. We have sometimes tried a few things that we like less than others, but we have found our favourites and they are unmatched by any Auckland Thai restaurant that we have tried. Emily is so accommodating when we have previously had issues booking due to our limited phone reception.

Honestly... the best Thai we have had in NZ. We wish there was something this good in Auckland, it would be a weekly visit. All the seafood dishes were fresh, soft and full of flavour. The duck was phenomenal. The beef was soft and grill of flavour. The Tom Yum was one of the best we have had, we just wish we got the ‘bloody hot’. If you like hot food, go for ‘bloody hot’. Come open up a restaurant in Auckland please! And show them how Thai food should be. Thank you very much The Thai team! Don’t change a thing.

Pad kra pao is my benchmark Thai dish. This was as good as any I've had. I asked for Thai hot and was warned that the chillies they have can be a little variable and really hot so I had some extras on the side. They definitely packed a punch, so I recommend this approach even if you like it as hot as I do. Yummy earthy tones and crunchy fresh vegetables. I chose squid, which was meltingly tender. This was our third visit over something like seven years and we weren't disappointed. Not long finished dinner and I'm already salivating about our next time.

Amazing food 1st time & Amazing food yet again.. this place is punching out probably the best Thai in the country, & it shows as it is packed with people every night & the ph doesn't stop ringing for takeaway either. Definitely worth eating here.
