Review Smokys Manurewa - Manurewa

Thought I try the famous burgers from Smoky's that was highly recommended by numerous friends of mine, travelled 22 k's Royal Oak to Manurewa 275. Greeted by a polite well spoken guy who was very helpful & took my order, ordered a 420 burger (name of burger, not the amount) with chips. He also mentioned that the steak hasn't arrived so they added more bacon in exchange. The food took a little longer to cook but l guess perfection takes time. Visually the burger looked really good, watching the egg yoke dripping down on the bacon and the juicey meat patties, not too greasy but very flavorful and satisfying. The price is lil expensive but well worth it!

Customer service was excellent from a perspective of a South Auckland born and raised person! I can't even fault the food. Beautiful steak burger along with the egg burger and chips. Burgers are big and fresh juicy meat and delicious sauces. Let's not forget the hot cakes with Nutella and whipped cream and ice cream. Aaarrggghhh A++++++++

all I can say is woweee... these burgers are so filling. normally I eat 2 burgers but that burger on the left filled me right up. My daughter managed to eat her nurger on the left. I saved the middle burger for my friend at hone to eat. Even the patties was nice and thick... cooked all the way through and tasty as. yum

Great quality burgers, suggest phoning in to order and pick up, because its so popular you may need to wait a while if youre doing a walk in, but it is worth the wait

Wow what huge burgers!! I had the pineapple Express with pork belly. Hell I couldn't finish it. My kids had the 420 with pattie and steak and it certainly shut them up. The burgers were around $14-$16 but well worth it. Thoroughly recommended.

It was amazing! Customer service was great, the food was even better! I couldn’t get over the fact of how good the burger I ordered was. We spent $70 on only 3 people, but it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend Smokey’s to anyone who loves a good burger

Best burger joint out! Maryjane is definitely my fav but I'd eat any of their burgers, have tasted them all and they're all deliciously out of this world, chips are always made well crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the desserts are another level of yum! Would definitely recommend

After seeing the gigantic eye appealing burgers advertised on Facebook. We thought we'd better give this place a try as living on the shore we'd tried multiple places to seek out a good burger but our satisfactions were failed time and time again. Until today when we finally adventured out to Manurewa to try the Smokys chicken blunt and maryjane Burgers. Well i can tell you it was well worth the drive and the burgers are more than satisfactory. We'd do the drive a million times again to have 100% Quality and Quantity and 101%Bang for your buck.

My hubby recommended this place, clearly has been here without me. OMG I had the Hawaiian Burger...so delish best burger ever. Definitely be back. I would show you a photo but I smashed it before we got to Papakura lol. Food definitely made with love. So I posted this on their FB Page 04/10 and went back tonight....yep still AMAZING!!!

Wow food is honestly the best my favorite is the blunt burger. I am a big eater and yes the blunt burger is very satisfying also love the wedges and also you have to try there pancakes honestly nice way to finish your meal wow thank you to the team at smokeys great team great service

This place is indescribable!! The flavours and different ingredients make literally perfection!! No over exaggerating either!! Everyone needs to try smokys burgers to understand. Especially if your looking for a massive succulent burger to cure the hunger. Highly Highly recommend smokys

Was a massive fan of Smokys and was very disappointed to find its been replaced by urban grill. I decided to try their deluxe chicken burger as it was closest to the Mary Jane burger, sadly for $18 the burger was large and the chicken well cooked but that’s where the positives ended, the chicken wasn’t seasoned well at all, very bland. The cheese was next to non existent, even when I asked for extra (Smokys did the greatest grilled cheese on their burgers) and it just lacked the flavour and goodness. No lime shakes, no Rewa cheese steaks and no pancakes with Nutella and ice cream (best cheat day meal). I’m not going to dismiss it before I try more but I am more than a little disappointed in the change of owners and the lack of at least trying to honour the old menu. Good enough for a munch but doesn’t hold a candle to the great. R.I.P Smokys.

The burgers at Smokys puts others to shame - Monster sized, flavourful homemade patties, loaded to the gills with extras. The desserts are simple & fulfilling, beautiful just to stare at. They're priced above the average takeaway burger but you don't come to Smokys for average. It's go big or go home here, and they do "big" very well. 5☆

There’s not much to say. The come through with the most fulfilling burgers you could think of! Their hot cakes never disappoint. 10/10

Whanau and I arrived 20 minutes before closing time and I overheard the cook telling the other staff member he didn’t want to serve us. After waiting a few minutes for someone to come to acknowledge us I asked if we would get served. They said no. Definitely not feeling the love!!!!

The cheeseburger was great. The star was the patty. Seasoned with herbs that came through and so juicy and soft that it doesn't give you a tell tale sign of "takeaway". It came together nicely and for a good price compared to other burger joints.<br/>.<br/>Hawaiian burger was great too. Same deal as the cheeseburger but with bacon and pineapple. Flavourful and juicy. What more could you ask for?<br/>.<br/>Chips were good. Well covered in a chicken/seasoning salt. Smokys that does the BEST BURGERS in Auckland 🇳🇿 These burgers are massive and taste absolutely delicious 🤤 We had the fish burger and the rewa cheese steak. The Fish burger had deep fried Trevally, slaws, pickles and cheese 🍔<br/>The Rewa Cheese Steak is not your normal long bun with a lot of cheese on top Cheese Steak 🧀🥩 It is made with 2 slices of homemade bread with cheese, mushrooms, caramelised onions and steak 🍄 This is definitely the best Cheese Steak we have had! 🥪 We would definitely recommend others to try this when you visit Smokys

I find this place way over rated! Customer service is great though. The mince patties are yuck. There wasnt enough steak in my burger<br/>And the chips were stale! If you want a REAL good burger than Big Js mount wellington is the place to be :)

Had a Steak burger and a Mary Jane. Had already planned wet wipes near by as it isn’t a burger for the ‘protein bottle holding instagram’ models. <br/><br/>Boy she was messy, but good messy, then it became too messy. But I felt that with the recent bad reviews, it mainly points out the customer service, pricing and the time management of orders, and to be honest, if you want a great burger - it takes time and the ingredients were quality. You had streaky bacon, button mushrooms, steak, cheese, egg and all the rest, this is where the price goes. You pay for quality so of course the burgers will be pricey. And hearing that it’s taking forever to get an order, i can only imagine that it can take a toll on a persons customer service. Might have good burgers but so expensive - surely when you’re paying a lot for a burger you surely deserve it to be cooked correct. Disgusting customer service (look @ screenshot). Avoid this place at all costs!!!!

Extremely unprofessional and and aggressive staff - especially the owner who runs the FB page. My friend asked for a burger without any salad or veges and was still given a burger with onions lmao ok nice. The owner then resorted to online abuse via Facebook and started sending ESSAYS (pages and pages) about this situation. Wouldn’t it be easier to just refund and apologise instead of retaliating. Like move on it’s a $8 burger why do you have time to have a go at paying customers - get a life and own up to your mistakes instead of being threatening. Bye. Don’t recommend to anyone. Absolutely love Smoky’s Burgers. They have the best burgers. So much flavor in their cheeseburgers, love how they have grilled onions and lots of cheese. AMAZING!!

BEST BURGERS IN SOUTH AUCKLAND! It was worth the wait - as expected on a busy night but the food did not disappoint. Well worth the money you pay for. The MaryJane burger had to be halved between myself & my partner as it was such a huge burger. Definitely lives up to its name. Ubereats option is also cool.

Thought we'd give this a try after hearing so much about its quality-as you can see we were impressed.<br/><br/>We ordered:MJ, BLUNT,420,STEAK AND FISH. Sauces compliment each burger perfectly. The grizzle on the steak was a bit chewy.<br/><br/>It was so hard for us to choose a favourite as they are all amazing in there own right.<br/><br/>Thank you for an awesome meal, we will be back again, maybe try those hotcakes next 😋

Have been here a couple times and I must say the burgers are always on point. Had the 420, egg, bacon and egg and the cheeseburger. All have been delicious!! Chips are average and always add on some prawn twisters. Wait times while I have been there are usually half an hour unless it's super busy they will let you know. Next time I'm going to try the pancakes as there is alot of hype around it, Other than that it's a must try.

Staff were friendly. Nutella pancakes with ice cream was really nice and definitely worth the price! Generous with the Nutella filling and the portion is huge - it can def be shared between two people. Drove out from West Auckland just for this, as I’ve heard great things and it was no let down. Unfortunately, didn’t have a big enough appetite for any burgers but will def be back!

Ordered rewa cheese steak and a maryjane burger both were yummy and massive. Also ordered fish and chips. Hubby is a big eater but his rewa cheese steak filled him up and the chips which is a plus meaning it was very good as hes also a fussy eater! Definately recommend the food as there was nothing to fault but only down side is waiting time we waited for half hr another guy just after us had to wait an hour! Food freshly made and you can also watch them cook your food! Highly recommend

New to the area I thought I would hit up Zomato for some local joints to try out. This place popped and as soon as I saw the reviews/burgers I knew I had to go here.My partner and I arrived at 8 ish and ordered 2 blunt burgers and chips. Chips were good, nice and crisp, just the right amount of salt. The burgers were next level, they are huge! So great value for money!!  Burgers are made fresh to order and if you stay inside you can see them assembling these bad boys. <br/>The only down side is the wait time, we ordered and had to wait for about 45 minutes, which was to be expected. I believe the wait time is like this almost all the time due to the popularity and maybe the facilities only allowing space for a handful or burgers to be cooked at one time.<br/>The place itself has parking outside, is right next to the dairy, had a A food safety rating which is great! They also sell the normal fish, chicken nuggets  and even have slushies. Don't go to close to their closing time as they cannot take orders right up till this time.Overall we 100% will be back!

I have been wanting to try Smokys and finally had a chance to try them today. We ordered 1 egg burger and 1 cheese burger with $10 chips and 5 fish. We had a 35-40 min wait for our food. The burgers were really delicious - tasted fresh and the homemade patties were really flavourful and well seasoned with plenty of filling and sauce. The burgers were a good size for the price ($8 each). The chips we got were a big portion for $10 and sprinkled with chicken salt. The fish was also really good - big fish to batter ratio - unlike other fish and chip joints. Would def go back and try their other burgers and the desserts

First time trying them today. The pancakes are to die for. The burgers are soo delicious. Well worth your money if your looking for taste and something to fill you up for less than restaurant price

OH MY GAWD!!! Working in Rewa you can often be a bit dubious about getting lunch out (there are some good places) but HOLY HELL - this place is better than Burger Fuel!!! If I lived in Northland I would travel for this - awesome job Chef!!! MMmmmmm here's to many more gorgeous lunches :)

This place has the most stacked burgers you can find in Auckland. They are quite flavorful and reasonable cheap (most expensive burger is 14 dollars) and they are fresh as they are made to order. Its an absolute journey trying to get here with public transport though, location could be better not from south auckland otherwise a pretty solid takeaway spot with an original twist on a good burger!

Been stalking their burgers for a while on social media and their awesome reviews lol. Finally got to sink my teeth into their Blunt burger.. it was well worth it, made to order, FRESH. If you have a small mouth, good luck😂 The two patties were very moist and flavourful, and they were very generous with the bacon too, the filling was well balanced. I also ordered the icecream/pancakes/nutella dessert.. that went down really well. It is probably the first takeaway joint I have ever bought dessert from, only because it looked well worth it. Both are MASSIVE😱, I felt full all day up until the next day lol. Now I want to try the whole menu lol... yes, we will see you again soon Smokys😍

I've been hesitant to try Smokys but I finally gave in to the hype. I phoned in around lunch time as it pays to ring to place your order before hand. There can be a wait with lunch and dinner rush. Luckily there wasn't much of a wait and I ordered their cheese burger and wedges with sour cream and sweet chili.<br/><br/>Smokys really delivered! The cheese burger was juicy, and bursting with flavour with cheese oozing out. I could taste the herbs/spices through the pattie and the sauces in the burger was absolutely delicious.<br/>The wedges were primo too, you can definitely tell that they make their food with love.<br/><br/>Compliments to their chefs, definitely worth the hype.<br/><br/>Thanks Smokys will be back again :)

South Auckland is where it's at when you've got those takeaways munchies 🌬️ I went with a couple of signature burgers, including the Blunt Burger, with double meat patties, double cheese and double bacon 🥓 The other was the Mary-Jane Burger with crumbed chicken (customised to a double) bacon, cheese, mushroom and egg 🍔 And the Hotcakes I ordered had ice cream and cream on top and Nutella inside 😍 Chur! 🙌

Popular joint, and busy due to the reputation. But worth the wait. Very good customer service and friendly staff. Definitely a place to go when your really hungry.

This 420-friendly burger joint is mean. I had the Mary Jane Burger and pancakes w/ice cream, whipped cream and Nutella. If I were to be real fussy the bbq sauce wasn’t evenly spread out across the bun. Still fire though

Everyone raved on about this on Facebook so I decided to give it a try. Menu is unique in its own way so I grabbed the Mary Jane with the Hotcakes & Ice Cream. Burger could have done with a bit more flavor, but still a decent burger nonetheless and you get your money's worth. But it was the dessert that I was most looking forward to - hotcakes were fresh and with the ice cream with chocolate drizzle and sprinkles layered over the top. I died and went to heaven only to come back down, have some more and die again. Well played Smoky's, well played. The only reason for the 4-star rating was because the burger wasn't quite there, but definitely need to sample the rest of their menu to gain that 5-star seal of approval.

Not the best but definitely not the worst burger joint out here in South Auckland. Food with a little bit more flavour would probably do the trick for me personally. Otherwise the service, quantity and prices were spot on! 3 star rating for me! 👍

We came here tonight and got the veggie burger, Mary Jane, 2 x Nutella pancakes, chips, nuggets and 2 x bottles of coke for $40.00. Bloody good value, my vegetarian burger was actually filling, not your standard lettuce, tomato sort of deal. Nutella pancakes were awesome and haven't heard a word out of the 2 boys since we started eating so I'd say there's was good too. Awesome kiwi food!

Smokys is the real deal! I asked for a bacon and egg burger and added chicken 👊 man was it good! Heaps of bacon, egg was over easy and still runny just the way you want it and not only did I get the chicken fillet I asked for but they put in 2! 🤙 crispy and juicy 👌 my photo doesn’t do this place justice but when I saw the food I had to dig in! Me and my partner just picked up our feed and it was horrendous. Raw chips? Your not macas! Pick up your game man. Can’t afford to be hit and miss these days.

I've tried their Blunt Burger (the most expensive on the menu) & the Maryjane. Felt like both burgers were average. Blunt Burger was just a meat fest with no real flavours. Have also tried the chicken nibbles & chips. Chips aren't the greatest, chicken nibbles dunked in batter mix and fried i felt to be quite odd. Sauces squirted on top (bbq & mayo) were ok guessing only cos they taste store bought not homemade. Tried to get this place to redeem itself with trying their dessert list as well.. pancakes are fluffy (yay), the donut and pineapple fritters didn't impress me tho.

Burgers Massive! Service Great! Brought it out to the car because they were quiet too! Great to see young guys doing well. He even said are you sure you want the fish and chips too? Have you seen the size of our burgers. Haha we ended up with lunch the next day. Value for money yes because not super greasy!!

We tried Smokys for the first time because of a FB rave about it.. a bit of a build ups tbh. <br/>As a family decided 3.0 was fair. <br/>Prices - a bit much for basic tasting burgers, nothing special about them. <br/>We brought we a 420, steak burger, ham burger, egg burger, wedges, chicken hot box. <br/>Presentation was meh and the taste was average and bland. <br/>Service was average at the store, not good not bad either.

Ordered all 3 burgers, the 420, Mary Jane & the Blunt burger with my other 2 mates (didn't eat them by myself guys lmao) theyre massive, don't get me wrong. but flavourless. I don't know if they didn't add enough seasoning or what but I enjoyed the chips more thn the actual burger itself.

I ordered a cheese burger and a blunt burger food is delish and too die for a bit pricey for a takeaway bar and waiting time is a bit long so recommend that you call them and ordering over the phone

Good burgers from guys who love making burgers. Had the "Blunt" burger. Although it ain't a gourmet burger, it is a damn good burger. Keen to try the other things on the menu.

I go here for their pancakes and pulled pork sammies. Service is ok and the shop itself is always clean. I haven't tried any of their burgers yet.

Great name for a takeaways, awesome titles for their burgers, and just real hearty on the inside. Best burger joint in South Auckland, especially for a takeaways. Home made bbq sauce was bomb dot com. 🔥🔥🔥 So this is definitely a foodporn burger with loads of deliciousness. I will definitely be back again. Go get you some goodness! 👌👌👌

Waited 35 minutes but the burgers were so good! I had a fish burger and the fish was fresh and tasty and my husband had the blunt burger. Next time I think I'll get him the 420 since it has a steak in it. And I can't wait to come back and try the Mary Jane. My new spot on the way home from work. Chips are so yummy too with chicken salt even. I think we have found a hidden gem!

Been here twice, burgers are huge and delicious! Have tried the mary jane and something else I can't remember. Bit of a wait but worth it. Make sure you don't come during busy time around 5ish because it gets really busy.

food is on point 👌.. worth the drive and the 30 minute wait for our food.. our drive was longer then the wait.. good price.. looking forward 2 going back and trying the rest of the menu😆.. <br/>so next time I think we will be ringing ahead 2 avoid the long wait..
