Well thought out food and service. These people obviously love what they do. Innovative cuisine, carefully presented, consistent quality.

Cafe was a hive of activity when we arrived for a late breakfast on Saturday 14th January. Had to wait nearly half an hour for our meals which was understandable considering how many people were in cafe and sitting at the outside area. We were happy to sit with our drinks at table outside and wait for food to arrive. Pleasant outdoor area. Meals were very filling. Service was also great and friendly. Thank you!

I have visited cafes across the nation for over 20 years and never once found the perfect blend of amazing customer service, food, and coffee. Today that changed. This cafe is a national treasure, offering an extensive menu of baked treats, cabinet food, gelato, and cooked meals. There is literally nothing like it anywhere else in Aotearoa. The numerous awards on the walls agree with me. Thanks for a fabulous visit.

Loved the food and service. The breakfast mana bowl was my fav.

Very enjoyable cafe and bakery shop. The staff is amazing and pay attention to the details. The food was fantastic, my coffee was prepared for perfection. Jana and Christy treat us really well. Don’t get intimidated because of your gluten intolerance, this bakery has your back. Highly recommend the almond croissant and cheese scone.

This is the one place we regularly visit, every time we are in the vicinity of Masterton. Good selection of food that tastes amazing and are reasonably priced. Friendly staff, always greets you with a smile.

Probably one of the best "big breakfast" if not the best as for us. All dishes were properly cooked and lovely served. Amazing range of pastry. All looks fresh

Loved our breakfast and coffees. Eggs Benedict with bacon and the Primal breakfast. Kumara chunks and aioli were also delicious. Great coffee too. Cakes etc looked scrumptious and will definitely try another time.

Stopped here for lunch last Saturday and their Butter Chicken pie with loads of fries is one of the best I've ever had. Great service too.

Deserve a 5 star review on the Wedges. 💞 Didn't take photo of the Mango gelato I had, it was really nice too. 🥰

Great place for a coffee and the food is really good. The pies and hot food are excellent. It is quite popular so it can be busy during lunch.

Only marked don't the service due to how crowded it is when its pumping. Great food, and really good coffee

An absolute treasure trove of delightful baked goods, fresh bread, desserts and funnily enough, ice cream. We had the salmon hash stack and the housemade granola pot, which was a masterpiece. The custard cronut is not to be missed! Special thanks to server Andrew. Made our morning in Masterton.

Waffles and Benedict eggs are delicious! Perhaps they could improve their lunch menu. Pastry and breakfast are exceptionally good!

A pleasant surprise. An award level cafe that would be well placed in any major city. Popular amongst locals and visitors. Cabinet and menu food including Chocolate, gelato, decorated specialty cakes. Prompt and friendly service. Consistently good coffees.

If this place was in our home town we would be there once a week... Great food and an amazing choice off cakes sweets and savory food... Maybe a little bit pricy to be honest we thought the prices for the sweets were way too dare. Other than that would go back again

Morning and lunch service is amazing BUT I am here on Saturday for dinner & dessert and our party (who booked in advanced) have waited for well over almost 1.5 hours & I'm disappointed that we have decided to cancel some of our orders. Entertainment was great with Mike Rigg. Unfortunately I will not recommend this place for dinner or dessert due to the time you need to wait for it!! A suggestion is if you have large parties booked ensure you have adequate staff...

I had dinner here tonight with some work colleagues and I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing me with amazing vegan options! The food was delicious! Highly recommend this place!

This is my favourite cafe. I come here for cakes and bread every time we are in Masterton. The food is absolutely second to none. I can't fault it. They have everything, delicious fresh baked bread, ice cream, even delicious fresh squeezed juice. They did the food and service for our wedding and it was worth every penny. Fantastic

Fantastic Cafe. The staff are all really friendly but polite. They are always working. Tables are cleared quickly and efficiently. They do the best toasted sandwiches that are not greasy, just tasty with your own choice of fillings from a good selection. If you love your cakes there is a huge selection and they have a very wide selection of breakfast, lunch, brunch dishes.

Took the grandchildren for Sat night meal for the 10 year olds birthday celebration. The kids loved it! Highlight was their desserts, both had the gelato taco which was amazing and they can’t stop talking about it....want to go back for more gelato ASAP! Our tapas were great too, thanks. We’ll be back.

Hi,

I’ll just start off by saying, the food was delicious but don’t get me wrong, for what it’s worth, not really worth it in my opinion.

$45 dollars.
$19 something for the fettuccine we ordered.
$19 something for the eggs bene w/ smoked salmon.
$5 for chips (you can’t screw hot chips)
$20 per meal pretty much.

I think it’s more for the “trend” than anything.

It’s quite crowded which is good for business but if your already seated and eating, people bump into you or ask you to move so they can get past even though they can get past if they just went around 🤷🏻‍♀️

But hey, I wanted to try it out. I did. But I probably won’t go back anytime soon.

Never disappointed with the food, service or environment. Highly recommend the death by chocolate and the corn fritters. Oh boy.... The corn fritters always make me feel great after a hard day. They taste amazing.

Have recently moved to Masterton, and come across this gem of a place.
Had a Hawaiian chicken burger (with wedges) and the classic burger (with fries) - brioche buns were perfectly done, slightly seared on the inside to give them a little crisp, and the meat patty was satisfyingly juicy. Only comment for improvement is perhaps a little more sauce.
Also tried a few cabinet items (custard Cronut and a gold medal lemon meringue eclair, both were exquisite. Everything was beautifully presented.
Staff were very warm and welcoming, felt very comfortable being served.
And despite what an earlier review has said, the prices are reasonable and as expected for cafe/bakery. Definitely one of the better cafes / bakeries in Masterton - this is clearly evident from the constant lines of people queuing to dine.
Will definitely be coming back often
Food Mm
Average bakery style cafe which I feel is overpriced and nothing special. Iced chocolate was pretty horrible. It's really just like eating in an overpriced bakery,

My girlfriend and I went for a drive to Masterton, out of all the open places to eat on that lunch time, Ten O'Clock Cookie Bakery stood out. We liked how the place was very open and the sunny day was perfect for it.

It was hard to distinguish different meals written on their blackboard, luckily, there was a menu available by the entrance. The line for ordering was quite long, and one of the staff was helpful enough to take my order on a different counter. The setting of the place had that warm and cozy atmosphere and it was great to dine in on a sunny day.

I ordered their The Arabian, which had poached eggs on top of pieces of bacon and halloumi, on top of couple of ciabatta bread, it was also drizzled in basil and pesto, and garnished with dukkah. It was presented nicely, everything was flavourful and went well with each other. I have never had halloumi before, and after trying it, it is definitely one of my favourite types of cheese. I had to do some research to find out it was cheese. It has a similar texture to fried tofu, and then the creamy and delicious aftertaste hits you.

My girl friend ordered their Salmon Hash stack, it wasn't too much of a stack, their were only 2 hash browns. The meal could have done with more salmon, there was only a few sheds of it wedged in between the hash browns- it was called a Salmon Hash stack, she expected the portion to be more generous.
It was a nice meal, the hollandaise sauce was amazing, it was creamy, tasty and you could taste the herbs. Not to much to comment on the spinach, it was cooked right and was seasoned well.

The servings are not big, but this is reflected on their affordable prices of $15.50 for each meal. Having said that, we found both meals enjoyable, especially compared to other cafes we had been going to. I would recommend this place, and would definitely come back next time we are in town. We would like to try their breakfast menu and their baked goods, such as their cookies.
