Review The Screening Room Cinema And Eatery - Masterton

Food and service is always good here. Look out for special events like the French Film Festival when some unusual menu items are offered. The cinemas are comfortable and spacious, although I believe not 3D. I'm not a fan of 3D presentation, so I don't care! The staff will deliver food and drink to your cinema seat if you order when collecting tickets. This is a nice touch, but it can be a bit disruptive to other audience members if a lot of people have pre-orders.

We just moved to Masterton from Lower Hutt and this is my wife and myself's first dinner date here in Masterton. And, the Screening Room is a worthy first choice!! We were so impressed by the food and the service. We ordered the asparagus as entree, and for me, the crispy pork belly, and my wife had the balinese lamb curry. She also had their mocktail. For dessert, we had the apple and walnut steam pudding. All of them are beyond our expections. They are all perfectly served and the tastes are just amazing!! The staff are all friendly too!! We will definitely be back again and will try the other food in the menu. Please do check them out as they have the cinema too.

Fantastic service, clean cinema, tidy bathrooms. Lots of yummy food to take in (but no popcorn, so warn the kiddos). Buying tickets online easy as. Plenty of 2 hour free parking within 100m. Can't beat that.

What a fantastic meal we had here! Arrived early and enjoyed a glass of wine until the 5pm dinner menu was available and boy was it worth it! We shared arancini balls to start, then enjoyed the braised brisket / pork belly and shared a tiramisu cheesecake to finish. Absolutely fabulous food and service. 10/10

This place is amazing have a wine or two go to the movies and then have a beautiful meal all in one site. Love it

I cannot rate The Screening Room more highly than this! In Masterton for the long weekend and went there 3 times. Wonderful service, friendly and attentive staff, quick service ans catered to medically-related dietary requirements with ease and confidence. Child friendly and gorgeous space with indoor and outdoor seating. Would highly recommend. We will be back for sure!

We had a fantastic dinner for our last night in the north island, service was great and meals were amazing. Highly recommend.

The best movie theater in Wairarapa (well, there aren't many here). The movie theater seats are very comfortable. I usually order a large flat white that they bring to the theater in a glass keep cup. That is the best coffee in town! Another time I tried coffee in a takeaway cup, quite different. I've only dined there once or twice. Food is nice, but too "fancy" for a simple stomach, with lots of fusion.

Lovely new restaurant in Masterton. Really nice atmosphere and great service. Interesting menu. Only lost one star as the fish burger was a bit dry and only one very small piece of fish in it and it was quite dry. Otherwise great meal out

Without a doubt 'The Screening Room' is on Top of its game. From Restaurant food, that's so mouth-watering that I ordered something I don't normally eat (was very tasty), to Cafe food and drink; tops; that can be consumed in the theaters as well as the Restaurant. What great service too. Very friendly and willing to take time and explain things. A great Test was during Covid times. The service did not slacken. Very trying times. Top marks Screening Room. 👍👍

Ordered Brunch burger was great just the right amount of bacon, fried egg cooked just right and crispy potatoes crunchy and just the right amount of seasoning. Professional & friendly service and good atmosphere.

An amazing place to dine in. The food was amazing and staff was great. Highly recommend this place.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening with friends. Bit pricey for us but highly recommend for fine dining.
