Review Lone Star Cafe Masterton - Masterton

We were visiting New Zealand from the United States and this restaurant really blew us away. We truly felt like we were in an American restaurant. The music and the vibe was all perfect! The food was also excellent! The garlic bread loaf appetizer made us feel like home! Better than any bread appetizer at home. This is a definite gem!

This Lone Star is great in alot of ways. Food was at a good standard and presented well. Staff were excellent and a young guy who was waitering was very knowledgeable and a credit to the establishment. Overall our group booking was handled well and we all left very happy overall.

Great meal, very pleasant staff & reasonably priced drinks. Only let down was the wait time for our meals. Music was great entertainment too. Definitely worth a visit - thanks Lone Star 🌟

Very friendly service It was busy obviously but the staff and particularly lennox was friendly and polite, attended to all our needs. And kids appreciated the coloring things. Food took a while but it was busy so expected, had the cajun chicken food was average but appreciated that the chicken was free range. Garlic bread was overpriced and not that great. Mum enjoyed the lemon lime and bitters drink

I dont usually post reviews, but Lennox asked me to 🤷😂 We have been in a few times over the years since it has opened and Lennox has been the only server to not hover over us and also give us a little extra time to relax, get comfy and peruse the menu a bit longer and also not make us feel like we have been rushed to turn a table 👌

On 09 September 2023 my family surprised me with a Birthday party for my Sixtieth Birthday and booked a private function room at "Masterton Lone Star". The food was as always Tasty, Delicious and well presented but the best part of my "Birthday Party " was the BEST waitering service's been given by a young man by the name of "AUSTIN"... He was absolutely CURTIOUS, PROFESSIONAL and served me and my family and friends with a smile and respect. The service he gave was the best i have experienced in a very long time as I myself is a retired "Executive Chef and ex Restaurant owner. I have been in hospitality for over 38 years and very few in my life stood out as much as " Austin " did. Austin is a great, Lovely and a HUGE asset to "Lone Star Masterton". I really thank you Austin for your service and making my Birthday Party a day to remember. I really hope you are well looked after and may you reap the fruits of your genuine hard work and thank you for your GREAT and warm personality. Thank You Johan

Great place to dine, one of the best Lone Stars i have been to. Probably the best part of the evening g was the super friendly and helpful waitress Dani, she was amazing!! Probably the best service I have ever had. If you are visiting, ask for her! Meals were amazing, awesome flavor and size was perfect. Masterton's premium restaurant.

Great service and food very nice but a bit limited for a vegetarian.. very impressed with customer service.. clean and lovely atmosphere.. meals arrived in good time and staff were very helpful

Had a great night out at Lone Star Masterton celebrating granddaughters birthday. Food was excellent, haven't had a bad experience there to date. Our waiter, Austin, was very attentive and looked after us very well. A big thanks to the rest of the team behind the scenes who provided an overall great experience on the night.

The food was very delicious! You have to try the cheese cake it was top tier! The staff were very kind, and they checked on our food once each meal. I had entree main and desert, I had garlic bread (amazing garlic bread) a burrito which fell apart halfway through but so good, and cheese cake for desert.

Relax here for the night. Service is high quality. Best place for dinner in this town.

10/10 would recommend to families or any size groups. Recommend booking but they are extremely accommodating with walk-ins. Great Lone Star selection all cooked to perfection. Open kitchen area allows you to see just how incredibly well organised a place like this is. The husband and wife owner operators of this site certainly lead by example and their staff appear to strive to the standards they demonstrate.

10CC for lunch, Lone Star for dinner is what I’d recommend to anyone coming to Masterton. The food is fresh (dare I say better than other Lone Stars), people are super friendly and lovely. Locals love it, for good reason. I’ve racked up quite a few points on the rewards app too :) definitely try the John Deer and kumara chips!

OMG! Forgot how big the meals are! Popping from entree and main.... Will get to desert! 😊 it's a great meal accompanied with excellent service. Made the visit so good. Thanks team.
