Review The Farriers Bar & Eatery - Masterton

Superb place for a drink or meal with friends and family. Took the kids here and while they enjoyed their kids menu I was flabbergasted at the sheer size of my chicken burger. Thankfully it was delicious, as was the kids pizza. Spacious and modern - spotted at least four separate areas to hangout - I can imagine the place is heaving when busy, and based on the quality of the food and service I’d say that happens pretty regularly. Even the toilets were awesome!

Fantastic hot chips! Had with a cold beer. Crisly, well seasoned and generous portion, bowl for 2.

My food was very plain. No taste at all, when the young waitress asked me how our meals where, don't just say o ok abd walk away when I tell you that it's was just ok, no taste but plain. My husband Said without the sauce his chicken had no taste either

Celebrated a 65th birthday with 10 of us seated together. Staff very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Food was very well presented and tasty. No charge for presenting the birthday cake that we supplied. Was brought out with candles lit and served on a lovely cake stand with knife. Just lovely and will definitely go back again. Thankyou for making the ol boys day .

Very good food. Lots of choices for Gluten Free. Menu was extensive. Soft drinks came with no straws and when we asked, we were told they didn't have any, which I found a bit odd. Some ladies like using a straw. Our waitress was new to the job and was being trained. She did well. I had chicken wings and seafood chowder. Both delicious. The restaurant was full which is a good sign especially for a mid week night. Would definitely go back.

Service was really good, attentive and well timed clearing + drink checking. Loss of one star for the burger, it was generous but average, majority flavour was weirdly cumin and tasted like it should be a Kofta rather than a burger pattie, just cooked yet dry at the same time so wouldn't order again. Salt and pepper squid by far the best I've had anywhere. Despite the burger would definitely dine again.

Amazing service and staff. My nephew showed interest in the pizza oven and MT got him involved in making his own pizza and answered all of his questions. Above and beyond.

The meals were nice. Good portion sizes and good flavours.

The food was good, the service was a bit slow at times and they either did not have or had run out of 3 of the desserts we tried to order :-( Moral of the tale - eat dessert first :-)

My goodness. I love a good pie. But this . This was heaven. Simple but elegant. Never was a pie and chips so delicious, give me more. And the gravy on the side OMG. I am satisfied.

A surprisingly upmarket menu, not your usual pub, so don't be fooled by the modest look. We had the dukkah crusted lamb ribs with Israeli couscous, feta, and beetroot, and the biggest "small" potion of ribs with confit garlic flatbread, all cooked to perfection. Also the $12 cocktails were an absolute steal. What a gem! Not to be missed.

i was invited to have a pizza evening there with 3 friends
the staff were great and the pizza menu looked wonderful,
however the special with include a beer with your pizza at a reduced price , could not be swapped for a wine at the same price the pizza's we had 4 different kinds were tasteless, i had the all meaty one that past with a push over all i was very disappointed and will not return
,

Really nice food, definitely the best I've had in Masterton. The lamb rump with creamy polenta was near faultless. Coq au vin was tasty but not amazing. Kids chicken was real chicken breast. Even managed to fit in some yummy desserts. Friendly service but could be a bit more attentive.

Went here on a Friday evening with my friend just after 6pm. We were seated immediately and noticed the restaurant was quite full. We both ordered the Twice Cooked Pork Belly as we have had it before and it is always delicious. We had a glass of wine each as well. We got our drinks relatively quickly and enjoyed the live musician they had whilst we waited for our mains which took around 20 minutes to come out. As always, the pork belly was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a generous serving of sweet potato mash.
The service was lovely and overall, we had a great experience. I always recommend the pork belly as it has been consistently amazing.
At last a decent bar in the Wairarapa. Pizzas are spot on..... thin crust but really good toppings and plenty of it and on a Monday when we went only $12 :-). Decent choice of beer and the wife loved her mojito cocktail. Good courtyard space to kick back in when the suns out.
