Stayed at this location over Labour Weekend for work, shout-out to Manni for the booking at such short notice, he arranged for our luggage to be shifted from one room into another then back to our original room, saved us a lot of hassle, thank you to the people who did this for us. All the people working at this establishment are the kind of people we need in the Hospitality Industry. The food is great and the beverages are nice and cold, we will definitely stay at this place again. Thanks to the Horse and Jockey Inn - Matamata

Some staff were friendlier than others. Rooms were fine and everything was clean. I have to day the food was outstanding! I had the belly pork and lamb ribs. Well worth it!

Always good for a good 'pub meal' experience . Good menu, food so far has not disappointed. Good welcoming staff who seem to be able to handle a big table with ease. Well worth your support I have to say .

Lovely meal, large servings, delicious food with several dairy free options. I had the pork ribs, cooked to perfection and more than I could eat.

I recently visited the Horse and Jockey Inn, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance. The Room was cosy, which immediately made me feel at home. The food was exceptional! The menu had a great variety of dishes. The service was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and ensure that I enjoyed my experience. The friendly demeanor made me feel like a valued guest. Overall, I highly recommend the Horse and Jockey Inn for anyone looking for a fantastic experience. The food, service, and ambiance all exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be returning soon.

Dinner was beautiful. I recommend the salmon steak superb. All meals were great prompt service nice atmosphere.

Good food, great service from the friendly ladies working. Sat us next to the fire as well on a cold rainy night.

We had a family room for one night. The staff are amazing, friendly and made us feel the most welcomed since we had arrived in NZ from Australia. The food is second to none. Shared amenities but not an issue. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

I haven't given 5 stars as you aren't like a Sofitel on the Auckland waterfront but. Your food is excellent, your service is personal yet professional and prompt. Great local Matamata pub atmosphere, with some tasty pints. Everytime we visit we remember we must come back more.
