Small family run restaurant, with Japanese izakaya decor. Didn’t expect much, but the food turned out surprisingly good. Worth a try if in town, in spite of many other dining options.

I took my grand daughter as she really wanted sushi. I rang ahead and chef was happy to make it for her. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal (not sushi) . Was very friendly service and lovely place to chat away with Miss 5 year old. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for a lovely dinner team

Delicious food!! Delighted to find this addition to the Methven restaurants. Fab Donburi, Teriyaki chicken, the pork belly was lush - tofu option looked good too. It’s a cute little restaurant and they do takeaway. High recommended.

Ordered takeaways from here last night without realising they had only been open for two nights under new owners! Very friendly owners with plenty of experience and industry knowledge, the food was excellent and I can only imagine it will get better as they get into the groove of running a Japanese restaurant. I would recommend that everyone should give this place a go and I’m sure it’ll be popular during the upcoming ski season!

Nice tofu options for vegetarians

Had a lovely quiet lunch of sushi and ramen pork belly bites. Lovely beer also available. Dogs and service were very chill and friendly.

It is insane how good the food is here. I’ve eaten my fair share of Japanese food and I would never have guessed the best meal I would have would be from a little restaurant in Methven. Do yourself a favour, get the beef carpaccio. I can’t wait to go back.

Cozy little restaurant. We managed to get the last table and absolutely loved and enjoyed everything we ate for our dinner. Best dish we agreed was the Japanese Fried Chicken. Highly recommend but best to reserve a table as it is small

Went there tonight. The food was scrumptious! Best Japanese I have had. Very simple but tasty. Loved the traditional Japanese style decor. Would recommend this restaurant.
