Review Bodrum Kitchen - Mission Bay

Lovely location with fantastic food. It was tasty and reasonably priced. Drinks were delightful - highly recommend Tropical Sangria!

Bodrum Kitchen is a real taste discovery in Mission Bay. From the welcome to our restaurant by Alex at the door to the Sultans breakfast we ordered, everything was on point. Food was delicous, coffee amazing and staff delightful to deal with. Keep up the great work.

We had a great breakfast here. Much better than places close by this one. Food was generous, very flavorful and the staff was very friendly. Ample seating indoors and out. Views of the bay. We will have to return for lunch or dinner.

Enjoyed the mezze platter with 2 friends for lunch today. We sat outside in the sun which was lovely. The coffees were great and we had good service. Everything was spot on. Thank you.

Mission bay is one of my favorite spots in Auckland. The beach front is lined with a variety of cafes and Bodrum kitchen stands out with its inviting ambience and interesting menu. A good place to meet friends. The food was amazing and staff courteous. Pancakes stood out for me. Definitely will be back to try out other items on the menu.

Always nice to sit at a restaurant in Mission Bay. I had the lunch plate - all the food, except for the flat bread, was good; the flat bread was chewy and not nice and soft as I had expected. However, I bought a side of Turkish bread and that was good. My friend had poached eggs and Turkish bread and there were no complaints from her. She also had a side of mushrooms - no complaints there either. I ordered a sweet - I forget the name of it but they were sweet, round balls of dought served with ice cream and topped with candy floss. The balls of dough were nice, the ice cream was...ice cream, but the sauce on the dessert was over the top sweet (to me), and I've never seen the point in candy floss; I'm not a candy floss fan. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very busy - it was a beautiful Sunday morning so people were out and about!

What a place to enjoy the evening. Good food prompt service and excellent staff. As it turned out to be we received some good news and the staff joined in our celebrations. Messe platter must try.

Lovely staff and great food! The halloumi chips were awesome, salad and dolma were also really nice :) and liked the pomegranate tea too! Large portion sizes for a good price (especially for Auckland!)

Best meal I've had in a long time! So delicious and generous portion size. Food came out quickly and staff were friendly and nice. Will def be coming back.

A favourite I’d admit but when the food is consistently great what else would I say. Today was the stuffed peppers with chicken, just amazing and so filling! Also watching the team interact with other customers there’s a great sense of community and involvement. Most locals coming in are known by name and their stories caught up on.

We had the Bodrum feast with adana skewers and the roast chicken lunch platter. The plating was quite nice, the adana meat was quite tender and mild taste of lamb with herbs. The hummus was nice, the wrap was actually quite low standard as it felt like it was from supermarket. I would rather have a fluffy naan or flat bread to go with the hummus. The chips was ok, the salad was not bad. The roasted chicken lunch platter was not bad as well but I feel the chicken had no charred flavour and a little toward the dry side. But overall still tasted good. Service was good, price was on the higher side.

Fantastic Turkish platter and drinks ably served by the lovely Alex, who made our Breakfast experience quite unique and friendly. Give it a go, you will not be disappointed.

Now.. I have been here at least 5 times due to the fantastic lamb tagine and location for catch ups. This time I purchased a voucher for breakfast and was excited to give it a go. While the voucher was fantastic value, wasn't crowded and the service was great, the food was good but not amazing. Lacking flavor and wouldn't pay full price. Coffee was average and while good size wasnt one I would rave about. I will definitely recommend if you want an outside table where you can people watch but get a voucher to save the $$.

Got a fantastic deal on GrabOne, $25 for a $50 voucher, and ended up with two meals and an extra salad takeaway! We ordered the menemen, breakfast in Turkey, and Fattoush salad, along with two pomegranate teas. The menemen was a generous portion and the gluten free bread they gave me with it was great. The breakfast in Turkey platter was generously sized and the date butter and berry compote it came with were both incredible, however we didn’t realise that “sujuk” was a type of sausage (we are both vegetarian) but that’s our mistake. The pomegranate tea was a nice strong flavour and came with a yummy wee piece of Turkish Delight. The takeaway salad was huge and had massive slabs of halloumi

Came in a while ago with a friend for afternoon tea. Got the muffin coffee combo. I got the chai latte and the pomegranate muffin. Both were a great pair with each other. The cafe had a great view of the beach.

Love the fresh salad and coffee made with amazing latte art. The new chocolate baklava is more smooth than the original one which is great too!
Dropped in while passing mission bay for lunch
Its a nice little spot along the road. The staff are super really friendly and attentive . The food is good too my husband got the calamari . its alitte lighter a meal than expecting but he didnt mind as he said it was really tasty . I had the lamb salad and it tasted nice and i like the portion size though i havent a huge appetite. I had a apple tea which i always enjoy . i would pop in again for sure !!

Great service and friendly staff. Menu had a variety of meals/flavours. We specifically liked the grilled eggplant with beef, had beautiful flavours! While the restaurant looks great outdoor and the seating in the front just the back of the restaurant seems very cluttered with boxes etc and did not look appealing. As if they have just moved in. Other than that it was great and very much enjoyed their decorations & the serveware

I’ve been to Bodrum Kitchen a few times are really love the atmosphere, and most of the food has been great. I recommend the meatballs, slow cooked beef and omelette but a definite pass on the ottoman chicken, which came swimming in a flavorless gray liquid that was really not very appealing.

Went for breakfast, super awesome place with good food and amazinnggg view.

Greeted by super friendly staff as soon as we walked near. We were seated promptly despite moving table around. We only just had the coffee and muffin combos. They ran out of muffins but offered us substitute. All good. Positive experience

Great ambience, great service and great portion of food. What it was actually missing is the taste of Mediterranean cuisine. The sigara borek had very little cheese in it and had only potatoes m. The meat was too dry and not juicy. Will I be going there again? Nahhh, I don’t think so.

Have been to the one in New Lynn and it's always good, came here for a small lunch and got the meat balls and they were very very good, me and my partner shared them and we both loved it! Service was good too! And location is obviously great too! Will be back

A big shoutout to @bodrumkitchenmissionbay So we have been trying lately so many Mocktails around restaurants and have been disappointed but this one just won our hearts❤️ #virginrosemocktail You gotta seriously try this! The first sip made us smile. So refreshing, so good and the flavour of lemon & rose perfectly blended. We totally recommend this place to try out. They are a part of the same ottoman chain and this restaurant is also a nice place to dine. Big shoutout to Geeta who served us. Very nice service. We also tried their Mezze Platter. Good food. Excellent location 🧿🍽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #bodrumkitchen #misisonbay #auckland #aucklandfoodie #nz #nzfoodie #mediterannean #fft #food #fashion #travel #twinklingtaurus

We had a great experience! Staff was attentive to our needs and very polite. Lots of choices from the menu and our 3 mains were all tasty and cooked to perfection ! Nice presentation too. Baklava was beautiful and moist enough! Good selection of wine at a reasonable price. I am definitely recommending it for a nice dinner by the beach.

Very fresh and summer appropriate menu. Snashed avocados on toast , dolma with chicken, lamb burger.

Polite staff and medditerranean vibe. $140 including drinks: 2 beers, 1 limonada, 1 smoothie.

Excellent service, the young waitperson moves tables for us to spread out and all were very attentive. We ordered a platter of delicious Mediterranean delicacies with three kinds of meat, lamb, beef and chicken on skewers. Absolutely delicious and quite an array of flavours to try with the flavourful bread

Went there first on a Saturday for lunch and it took 45mins for my food to arrive. The flavours of the food were good so we decided to go back again to try their dinner menu.

The photo featured was taken from our dinner experience which took less waiting time and the flavours were just as great.

Would definitely go back again. Be there early on a sunny day if you wanna have lunch there.

We had an awesome meal here a few weeks ago. We love the Mediterranean cuisine and it can be difficult to find good Mediterranean food, but Bodrum Kitchen certainly ticked the box with some delicious dishes, The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and Marie (?) was awesome. We'll definitely be back!

Got a deal from Grabone.

Love love love!

The mezze platter with hot bread!
The chicken and lamb Sheesh... beautifully presented, tastes fabulous, great portions.

Super friendly staff. Relaxing setting with beach view.

Mission Bay is a very popular location, especially during week end and fine day. We tried some food in this restaurant, Fattoush Salad with Grilled Haloumi, the Haloumi is fantastic with its nice salad dressing, Lahmajun taste bit sour and I prefer the other places, Special menu of the day is Burger with pulled lamb, nice pulled lamb but the bun is too dry. Good place for hang out but NOT for quality of the food.
Little Borneo Girl
We went on a beautiful sunny day. Great location and nice service. However, the food was bland and tasteless. Fish and chips looks like from a cheap takeaway version. A handful of chips and tasteless fish for $26. Omelette was just ok but not worth the price. The service was nice but sadly I am giving a 2/5 rating as the food was a great disappointment.

Beautiful location and lovely staff & service, however food is pretty average, if anything maybe the brunch menu is a little overpriced compared to others. Great coffee and tea selection and good presentation.

Place is nice to bring family plus it's halal. Best fish and chips so fresh and delicious. Has the kebab on the rod and platters to share are so delicious. Only thing is it's a bit cold otherwise great dining experience.

Wonderful food (I had the meatballs) and an absolutely lovely lady serving us! It was nice and quiet towards the end of the day. We’ll definitely be back! 😁

Beautiful location for anytime meal 😊
I'm a big coffee lover... Costa and segafredo are my favourites... But I quiet like Turkish coffee here... I wanted one more but that would give me sleepless nights 😉
Cauliflower fritters is really good for vegetarians 🤩
Pulled lamb in lunch plate...a good deal for tasty and healthy meal 😋

Wishes do come true! I have finally found a beautiful Lamb tagine served in a Tagine in Auckland. Great atmosphere and fantastic friendly service. Suchi was great, she organized it so I could try the Tagine for lunch even though it's only on dinner menu, very accommodating and lovely staff. Really recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent service, very friendly staff. Enjoyed our meals they were large and presented well. My daughter loved the music. Definitely will return.

We were excited to see a new place in Mission Bay. There are many restaurants here, but most are average. And, sadly, this one is, too.
Taramasalata had no taste (I think it was cream cheese with colouring added), and the Greek meatballs were dry. Wanted to try the Shakshuka, but the server said it was just tomatoes, not tomatoes and peppers-- so I didn't chance it.
The eggplant & the spicy prawn entrees were good.
A more authentic menu and better servers would give this place a chance.
Abbas Al-Murrani
A LOT of potential. Not realised in today's visit. Mezza platter was average and food lacked enthusiasm and quality. Drinks were good..mocktails great. Service was good too. Wouldn't come back for platter. A few tweeks here and there can make it an amazing place.

After being a massive fan and regular at their Brickworks location thought nothing other than to try the Mission Bay spot. The decor is similar in style to the other locations which I love, the colours are beautiful. I don’t feel as if the menu has a large enough selection though. Ordered the summer salad containing watermelon which was very complimenting to the haloumi, candied/cinnamon walnuts, crispy sujuk and salad greens, if you don’t like olive ask them to keep out the weird dark and thick salad dressing stuff that was on the top. I almost always order the turkish apple tea as it is always presented in a gorgeous tea pot with a tiny little turkish delight which is so cute! -The tea always tastes amazing too.
My partner had the meatballs which had a nice flavour with plenty of sauce to cover them all, served on potatoes cooked to perfection that weren’t dry. Another dish ordered for the table was the lamb shank which was presented in beautiful little pottery. The shank was tender and served on a tasty bed of cous cous. Only 3.5 stars as the restaurant was quite noisey and it was hard to hear what anyone was trying to say across the table and as well as the fact that for a Turkish restaurant... they didn’t have any Turkish beer! Definitely not up to the high standards of the local Bodrum Kitchen but I’m sure they will step up soon!

Nicely decorated place though some lamps in their sensational chandelier need replacing. Nice friendly staff. The wine was good - so was the Turkish coffee and presented beautifully. Lovely Turkish delight to accompany it. A pleasant enough place EXCEPT that the food fell much below expectations. I had the meatballs - they were truly the worst meatballs I had ever had in my entire life and I would not have recognised them as meatballs. Strange souvlaki overall - chips inside (as well as the meatballs). Maybe it's a good enough place if you avoid the meatballs. I will give it another try at some stage simply because of the coffee. Pity about the food.

Sensational breakfast and excellent coffee, couldn’t fault it, except that I would’ve loved a slightly thicker cut of pide Turkish bread.
The service was friendly, fast and efficient. The chef was flexible when I requested a menu item change and the staff thanked us (genuinely) on departure. I’d come back here in a heart beat. Such a nice spot across from the water too.

PS. The creamy feta and mint dip was to die for.

Ok. New place. Typical Mediterranean outlook.
Turkish and Greek style cuisine.
Nice effort, good ambient but the result is not great.
Food is just fine nothing exciting not a disaster either.

Some of the side dishes were better than others.
Presentation is too fake in my opinion.
Authentic Turkish food does not have to look nice only but also taste nice.

I think the place has potential but they need to try harder and focus on authentic recipes not hybrid Kiwi/Oriental plates.
The location is awesome. Outdoor dining is a bonus.

In my opinion the service needs to get a major change as well.
The young girls working there, probably part time, they had minimum knowledge on the recipes ingredients etc.

The staff here made this place enjoyable and if I wasn't such a wimp I would have asked Rosie the waitress for her number as she is a true kiwi 10 and superb at her job. But now I'll just focus on the food.

We came off the cuff Sunday morning and they had a table outside with really quality cutlery. I mean the weighting on the knife made eating so much more enjoyable. I got the French toast as recommended by that fiery Rosie and I was not let down. It was fluffy and sweet like something from the food channel. They did forget the cream but as soon rectified so no qualms.

My friends highly rated the omelet and the calimari if you're looking for recommendations.

I'm going to return one day when I get the courage and try the rest of the menu because it all looked amazing.

Good work team!

Food was way too salty. Would not recommend to anybody to go there eat. For the price it was expected way more, than simply being poisoned with salt. One star really.

My first time here.went with family for dinner.was nice and lovely atmosphere inside . waitress was very nice and food arrived in 10 mins.very nice and warm environment.good place for a night out with kids.only downfall was the alcohol drink size was quite small when compared to prize. But overall good experience.would definitely go again.
