Review The Pie Piper & Doornuts - Mission Bay

One of the many food places at the Eatery in Eastridge. This is similar to the shop on K Rd with the donuts, pies, and cakes. They also have sundaes, shakes, and floats. They have a menu on the wall as well as the display counter full of delectable goodies. It was great that they have the pies in different sizes so I brought a bit of each to try. I got the Nutella pie, the doorffle, and the tiny (medium sized) pecan pie. I found the Nutella pie to be a bit too tart, almost like a cheesecake. The cream helped. The doorffle was a bready donut with a maply glaze. The pecan was the favourite of the lot, good flavour and delicious shell and filling. Their table was full so we grabbed the treats and ate them in the car. Always a nice place to stop if you wanted something sweet.

We are so grateful to Pie Piper for making our Thanksgiving dinner extra special and delicious. Everything was beautifully packed and beat expectations. The customer service to make sure my order was in, was excellent, kind and thoughtful. The food was amazing. We were able to enjoy the day completely and mostly thanks to Pie Piper

Got these delightful Christmas doughnuts for friends and family. They survived the summer heat enroute to their house, and my partner's reckless handling. Delicious, festive, AND solidly crafted? It really brought the holiday spirit into their home. Thank you, Pie Piper! Can't wait for the mini pies!

This place has the best deserts in New Zealand hands down. The most amazing pies , the only comparison are the ones in USA, their cheesecakes are to die for, and their donuts, its hard to describe, but honestly I think they are the best donuts I ever tried, and my family agrees , and we are very fussy European people. This place is the best 10/10 +++

Thank you for your response. Firstly, with all of our other purchases from The Pie Piper, we've been totally thrilled by the decadent and delicious experience. I think with the Lemon and Blueberry cake we felt the flavours were artificial rather than the beautiful lemon and blueberry natural flavours. Anyway, it looked amazing. I assure you, we're total converts to the most delicious pies and desserts. Much appreciated.

We ordered via Uber eats a few months back & initially had a bad experience with not getting what we had actually ordered. The slices were also poorly presented & a bit squished. We decided to try again this weekend & they well & truly made up for it! Amazing cakes & pies, generous portions & all wrapped up in a box with a bow. Thank you :)

Originally fell in love with the K'Rd store and this location is just as good. Lemon Meringue and Kiaora Lime Pies are to die for. Such huge portions too!

Amazing North American - style donuts, pies and cinnamon rolls with good strong bottomless filter coffee. It's a destination for me whenever I am on that side of the bridge ( and can score a parking spot) Friendly staff and owners, who always seem to be cheery and smiling, but who wouldn't be, surrounded by donuts and pies all day? Try the Bacon Maple donut, the meringue pie and the cinnamon rolls

Very nice service by the person working there. The food was so delicious, everything we bought was so good and the brownie was my fave. You also need to try the chocolate peanut butter pie, I'll be coming back to try a few more things 😂 Please put cinnamon rolls on the menu!

Ordered a high tea for 8 of us and it was so delicious. Very satisfied, would recommend. A selection of tarts, scones with jam and cream, macarons (perfect crunch), lil sammiches, bacon and egg mini pies, mini cheesecakes, profiteroles (my fav), a sort of marscapone thing? and of course a selection of teas. We are all still full hours later. The staff were also lovely.

Always amazing pie: the triple layer pumpkin is bliss, the kia ora lime an absolute treat!!! And then there's the donuts - heaven in four bites, especially the maple bacon and the creme brulee. Topped off with friendly service.

Very friendly service offered by Ana at the Kepa Rd store, Eastridge. Ordered the blueberry NY cheesecake online. Very easy and tasty

Just got a vanilla milshake, staff were friendly and service was fairly quick

Fast and friendly service. The pie and cake portions are ginormous and priced to match ($12.50!!). Not a sensible portion for one person. Good for sharing between two, but I'd rather have half the size and choose two flavours. Toffee pumpkin cheesecake was fine, just a bit too sweet for me. Rainbow cake was dreadful! "All fur coat and no knickers" (looks impressive but lacks substance). The cake layers were like dish sponges in texture and were tasteless, and the icing was also bland and had a fatty mouth feel (possibly made with shortening rather than butter?). However, the lemon & poppy seed cake-style donut I had on a previous visit was divine!

Drove all the way there only to be told by the girl who works there they are shut.. all the pies were still out.. I mentioned online it said they shut at 9 and she said oh that’s the weekend.. won’t be wasting my time driving back! Wouldn’t have been hard to put a slice of pie into a takeaway container..

Love the Pie Piper! Great selection of home made pies. I’ve pretty much tried every flavor and they’re all delish ;-) You have to try the doornuts while you’re there too

We were struck by the variety of donuts and pies they had to offer because they all looked so good! We ended up getting a Smore donut, boston cream donut and a cinnamon salt doornut. Our favourite was the boston cream, very well balanced in flavour and had a generous filling. Would be keen to come back and try more flavours and their pies.

The lady who served us was also very friendly and helpful in helping us choose. :)

Been here a few times already. Donuts are exquisite. Pies are slightly expensive but well made and tasty. Will be back to try more of the donuts.

You can’t miss this in Eastridge eatery. The desserts in display were so inviting. Love the Banoffee pie but the rest that we tried were just ok.

Ordered a piece of coconut cream pie and kia ora lime pie for takeaway. The lime pie tasted great, but there's still some sugar granules in the meringue and part of the crust was missing. The coconut cream pie was overpowered by the chocolate layer in the pie, can't taste the coconut at all, apart from the coconut toppings pieces and those in thr crust.

I first tried the pie piper when I ordered a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving from their K road location. The pie was great. We went tonight to the mission bay store and got a slice of coconut cream and a slice of carrot cake. The coconut cream pie was completely crustless as it had all fallen off when they cut the slice. The carrot cake was a little dry. I would visit again and give them another try but I think some tweaks are needed at their new location.

Have tried the banana cream pie and the Nutella cheesecake from here and both have been average. The banana cream pie tasted like whipped cream with a hint of banana and the texture was very unsatisfying. The Nutella cheesecake had too much of a sour cream cheese flavour and not sweet enough. Really want to like this place because the products are so pretty and the staff is lovely!

Prefer the Kroad branch. It was one hot afternoon at the Eatery. Feel like the donuts displayed too glazey cos of the heat and lots of flies flying around so I decided not to buy them. Would prefer if they cover the outside desserts properly. The lime key pie is our favourite and glad to see they have proper cabinet for the rest.
