Review Stationhouse Cafe - Moana

We visited the Stationhouse cafe on. Saturday evening. The two vegetarian dishes we had were both excellent. The decor is nice, service is friendly and there is plenty of seating- both indoors and outdoors. The only thing we missed is a train....but that’s not controlled by the cafe! We would be very happy to visit again!

This cafe is facing the train station. The steak sandwich is so delicious, my daughter loves the fries. We were sitting outdoor table surrounded by trees, plants, flowers and birds.

Wonderful step back in time 👏 😀 menu reminded me of the good old fashioned Kiwi Farm* scones & jam even* ( choice between low fat or full cream would be great) staff are lovely 😇💫

The beautiful view across Lake Brunner is worth stopping in at the Station Cafe for. But happily, the food and service are also excellent. Expect typically laid back West Coast hospitality. Nothing is done in a rush. Not necessarily even efficiently. But the welcome is sincere, the menu extensive, and the food perfect for the setting. We all had toasted sandwiches and thick cut chips. Hearty comfort food for a cool winter day, cooked just right. There are beers on tap and in the cooler, along with wine and a range of non alcoholic drinks.

The best decision of where to eat that I have made in a long time. Great steak sandwich thank you.

Highly recommend this amazing “cafe”. The friendly service made our experience enjoyable. The food was outstanding, (both lunch & brekkie). Accommodating of our needs. The view, breathtaking. Atmosphere, relaxing. Thank you to all the staff!!!

This cafe is worth the stop. Good kiwi couple give personal service, great food and will be missed as its on the market. Thanks for the best experience ever

A bit to find in Moana, however, the cafe, has a good menu and drink selection. The views of Lake Brunner, and the railway station, are suburb. Worth a shot if in the area.

Great kids menu, catering to under 8s with a pretty flash boxed meal (think golden arches...). Coffee was good. Meal prices were fair for size of the meal - we shared a seafood platter between two people for lunch. Great lake views even on a rainy day.

Great food, lovely staff Update 2 years on: Still high quality, excellent food! Lovely, approachable staff, and an absolutely beautiful setting. If you're going near Moana/Lake Brunner, the Station House Cafe is an absolute must!

Great place to eat and relax. Food very good . Views beautiful over looking the lake and the staff very welcoming. The place should rename itself. Bar not cafe as it would attract more people.very highly recommended.

We enjoyed lunch and dinner in this friendly, cosy cafe. The food was delicious and generous. Peter and Jan were lovely hosts who went out of their way to help us enjoy our visit to Moana and Lake Brunner. We can't thank them enough for their kindness.

We had scones and cream with a hot drink,delicious. Excellent service,very hospitable host,lovely setting overlooking the lake and station,would definitely recommend
