Review Cafe 487 - Mokau

I adore Cafe 487! My brother got married and had his reception here, and everything was perfection. Karen, the owner, is outstanding and knows how to make an event special. It's also an awesome spot for drinks, food, and a relaxing time. You can even play some outdoor games on the lawn when it's fine! Good for big or small groups! There is plenty of parking onsite.

We had a very tasty lunch on our way to New Plymouth. Good service and lovely seat in the garden. Would recommend stopping by here if you can!

I went here with my sister. we had a amazing meal it was lovely. perfectly cooked. not as hot as I like. but the gardens and scenery is amazing also I can understand why people come here for wedding receptions.. the staff where also great helpful and smiling. will definitely come back on my next trip. amazing food service and scenery. A+ 😊👍❤

En route to Stratford, we spotted the Cafe sign and turned in on impulse. To be honest, our expectations were not high as we turned off the highway. But how wrong could we be. The driveway opens out to a beautifully manicured park llke setting and inviting historic building. The staff were really friendly and very accommodating to a vegetarian request. The food was just top-notch. Couldn't be happier and would certainly make a point of visiting again. 😊 Note ... Slinky is very well traveled!

From the moment you drive in there is nothing but tranquil. Spend time to relax with their menu and great coffee. Superbly friendly stuff. Karen and staff have a natural way of making you feel at home. Some of my favourites: waffles, fish and chips (to many) The best place for kids (adults to) to have fun outdoors with giant connect 4 game and corn hole. Art studio open on Fridays (that’s me) Helen McLorinan Artist. Situated 5 minutes north of Urenui, it’s so worth the visit to unwind and experience beautiful surroundings away from the hustle.

We found this place when we went back to Urenui for a little holiday. What a germ!!!! Food was amazing and staff were absolutely lovely. It was getting busier with the locals coming in after we went in, highly recommended and can’t wait to go back here when we are back in Taranaki

If you're looking for a surprising place for a delicious lunch, this is the place to be! The staff members are really kind and nice, the food is home-made and really yummy, the restaurant is beautiful, quiet, peaceful. It will be a great memory of our trip in New Zealand. Completely tucked away behind gorgeous gardens and comes upon you suddenly on route to New Plymouth. So glad we stopped. Absolute hidden treasure. Service was great, food sublime.... Right down to loveheart waffles 💜... Could sit here all day. Plenty of seating & Really pleased to see access for disability.

Just stopped in for a quick coffee and was instantly amazed and the beauty of the location. Stunning Cafe, beautiful hall with a very impressive looking menu - service was quick and couldn't have been friendlier. Can't wait to come back and have a meal!

Great coffee over two visits this weekend and good friendly service. Have to try the meals next time we pass through this way again. They look amazing. Lovely outdoor area available as well.

Really friendly and great food. Lick the plate and burst your belly type good. They went out of their way to make sure GF meals were GF. The platters were really good and not just thrown together like a lot of places do. The setting is lovely. Worth carpooling from NP for!
