Review Wok'n Noodle! - Mount Eden

Can't recommend this place enough!! The staff here are so kind and the food portions are massive and very affordable!! I haven't had a portion this big in ages. I didn't think anyone did them like this anymore. My partner is quite a big Māori guy (he eats a lot, haha). 9 times out of 10, when we eat out, he's not full. But we had left overs for lunch! The food also taste great too and looks beautiful.

Thai cuisine. We don’t eat spicy food. So we could choose these two dishes only but delicious.
Kayc Hilihetule
Super fresh ingredients, rich and flavourful. Lovely staff that make you feel really welcome. Can’t wait to go back and try the other menu items

One of my favourite places to get food. It's always fresh, consistent, full of flavour and portion sizing is good. I struggle to pick a dish to eat because they're all so tasty. Don't be deceived by how small the take away boxes look, I was too! One of those boxes is able to fill a standard sized takeaway container.

Fantastic! Was here because of business catch up lunch, first time, yet a great first time.😘 Asian combination menu I believe you can order based on the authentic degree that you want. Portion is not small at all so the money you pay is definitely worth. If you order fried rice, I think ladies can share that big plate of rice. Surprisingly found they have bubble tea served too! I enjoyed my lunch a lot, very 👍

Wok'n Noodle Bar has been around for a long time, and it's good to see the quality of the food is still high. The restuarant was very quiet, although this was more of a sign of Auckland CBD than the restaurant itself. They were out of some of the beer on the menu.

Food was utterly incredible, the perfect balance of flavour and texture! The service here was also good for the portion size, it arrived within 5 minutes! The atmosphere is great, nice music, posters of Lee, and random decoration. They also have plenty of options for spice, low carbs, etc.

One of my favourite places to go. You get real quality at affordable prices. When i think about a way to end the week i definitely have this place at the top of my list. Excellent staff very professional. Can not recommend enough. Thai beef salad and soup great way to start. Extra spicy does not disappoint. Very friendly that caters to all.

My daughter is allergic to nuts and dairy. It is a great comfort to know that we as a family can eat at Wok N' Noodle who adjust their cooking to suit my daughter's allergies. Excellent food, excellent service! Always a pleasure to eat here. Highly recommended!!!

Honestly the drunken duck noodle gluten free low carb was out the gate as in yummy! Thank you

Best Asian fusion food in Auckland. Once in a while they have some very minor dine-in hiccups such as a delay, but that's life when you have a restaurant as busy as this place is! It's always worth the wait anyway! The food is second to none, and is very affordable and great size dishes too. Ignore the odd bad reviews on here, -try wok n noodle, you will not be disappointed. 5 ⭐️

Nice place and food. But the staff needs to know how to dealing with the customers. Got small piece of steel in my food, but no apology and tofu was off in my noodle soup, but no apology and chopstick was missing in my takeaway food. Finally when i made a mistake (i should have chosen the takeaway option, but order went thru to eat in option), they talked in whispers..sorry no more business from me.

Favourite restaurant in Auckland! Staff are amazing, food is second to none, best Asian fusion in town. Healthy, nice and very well priced.

I have been a regular at Wok n Noodle for many years. Slowly I have found that the amount of meat/seafood/veges has decreased and the amount of noodles/rice has increased. Tonight will be the last time my family will eat from Wok n Noodle. A takeaway meal with hardly anything else other than noodles, and then the justification from them that I ate the good bits before I brought it back for a replacement as I was so disappointed, is the demise of a long term relationship with this establishment. I will miss the yummy food that I used to get.
Gina Ashworth
Very good meal and friendly service. No wait and a cold beer on a hot day a bonus!
Victoria Taylor
Loved your Mango Curry Nice place to dine in also thanks
Bev Peat
Excellent Food always yummy--always fresh--fast service--friendly too--Love just love the yellow chicken curry and Nasi Goreng

Very good customer service ..and food as well. Other day bought food there, unfortunately, the container was not closed properly and caused a mess, curry leaked and spoiled all the food. I contacted them and they replaced the lost meals immediately followed by an apology. Thumbs ups for you guys ...keep the good customer service and success for you!

Great until you have something go wrong. Don't expect to be refunded or even have your complaint acknowledged. I was completely ignored.

Number one noodles in town, recommend to others :)

I love Wok n Noodle but I am a little disappointed with their service today. I usually go there for lunch at least once a week with my colleague. Today I went there and ordered a caveman veggie dish with $14.00 I paid for it and sat down. Then I changed my mind and decided to change it to the chicken one which is worth $14.5 but because I had already paid for my veggie one she charged me an additional $3 because of the change! I was so shocked I questioned it and she said that because I had already paid for the previous one I had to pay that additional amount! I paid for it, but that was ridiculous! I know that it is only $3 but where is the logic! It’s sad because it is my favourite place for lunch. I will think twice before going there! No complaint about the food though!

LOVE LOVE Wok'n Noodle from an original client to missing a couple of years and going back again last year, still yummy! Love to options to have no carbs or low carbs and still tastes delicious.
Arshi Madan
There was something wrong with chicken and i hardly ate my dish. When i told them , they took it back but didn't offer to refund or replace with another dish. I have always loved this place and i always have cashew chicken, so i know how it tastes like. I wish the service was better than this.
Carla Schoonbeek
Love this place!

I like the food but why give an incorrect wait time?
Gioja
I ordered a nasi goreng with tofu and made it very clear I was vegetarian. I found pieces of chicken in my food. Very disappointed because otherwise it was great

Been coming here for years, service is great, food is delicious, fresh, healthy and full of flavour for a very affordable price and great portions too! I normally get the cashew chicken ft above but this time also shared the Massaman lamb curry with my friend and it was out of this world! Lamb so tender and flavour - Amazing! Thanks wok n noodle for never letting us down 😄
S
Always the best smile, best service and best food!
Pig Cat
Busy bistro serving wok fried dishes. Popular lunch spot at Mt. Eden. Have tried a couple of fried noodles and rice, which were made sweeter to adapt to the local taste. Tend to taste like Thai cuisine.
J R
Not enough vegetables to go with the massive amount of rice. It almost looked like I ordered a fried rice and not a stir fry. Not the happiest with it. Most likely won’t go back!

Curry puffs were really yummy and melt in your mouth. I ordered the chicken and cashew with yakisoba noodles ~ I love how you were able to mix and match noodles. Although the sauce tasted nice, it was way too sweet. Tasted great though with a half of lemon the next day for my lunch. My friend got the Thai green chicken curry which I thought tasted like how I make it from the packets but more watery. My other friends got a hot and sour fish dish which was way too sweet too and the other got a Tom yum tofu rice noodle dish which she thought was dry. Ambience was great, loved the bamboo sticks for the wall background and staff were prompt and friendly. Overall, the food could have been more authentic.
Persian Foodie
Unauthentic Asian food. Overly sweet broth for all dishes that tasted like tomato sauce or pre made curry packet sauces. The mixed entree had such bland fillings, only the curry puffs were nice. The vegetarian noodles were okay but the sauce was awful. The beef and black bean sauce tasted better but the beef was so tough in big pieces it was unpleasant. The seafood noodles tasted so odd and the noodles had such a gloopy and eggy texture, far too soft. The rama rung song was probably the worst with such sweet sauce that was not at all authentic to Thai and slightly uncooked vegetables. The skewers were drenched in overly sweet peanut sauce and the chicken was so dry I couldn’t believe it. Made sense that it was a chain restaurant but I expected way better. Flavor was 1/5, it was too sweet and far too much, drenching everything. Ambience was good, portions were great and customer service was prompt. I would definitely not come back if you want to try authentic Asian food.

Been going here for years.
Never seems to disappoint.
The food is tasty, portions are really good and they're always consistent ✅.

Prices are just right for the quantity of food.

For the entrees the curry puffs literally melt in your mouth & the satay chicken sticks are full of flavour. The peanut sauce is just right 👍.

For our mains we always get the Whiskey duck, Tom yum fried rice (medium spicy), drunken fried rice, chicken teriyaki on rice & the hot and sour fried fish.

We've tried other dishes there as well and they're all tasty and full of flavour.

Plenty of parking on the road as well.

Staff are friendly and love a good chat if it's not too busy.

The should think about adding authentic thai desserts to their menu 😁.

Ambience : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Price : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Staff : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is one of my favorite places! The food quality is top notch and ingredients used are so fresh. Everytime I go there I have the caveman diet with chicken as my option. This time we felt like tea with our chicken and order some green tea and this the only thing I'm unhappy about - the tea was a Healtries tea bag and when charged $4 for just hot water and a tea bag! Just this part was very discomforting as most of the Auckland Asian restaurants offer free tea. I am giving 4 stars because of my tea experience.

Wok n Noodle have been a favorite dine-in place for me, but off late the food quality has gone down a lot. I have had "meh" experiences here couple of times before but I felt I should leave a feedback for some improvement. Today I had chicken satay and cashew chicken and my friend had the garlic prawns. The satay chicken was very dry and chewy, I would rate pop-corn chicken from KFC better than this, and the sauce on the cashew chicken was very salty. Not sure if it was the mad rush in the evening or just slackness, but I will have to think before I come here next time.

I’ve been going to Wok n Noodle for years, and have recommended it to many people. This store has a nicer fit-out than their Shortland St location, with a mix of large and small tables. They have such a large menu and are really accommodating to meet any specific dietary needs. Lots of healthy options, you can swap white rice for brown, low carb and carb free options as well. The food is always super fresh, tasty and comes out quick. Staff at both locations are really friendly. My new fav dish is the basil chilli stir fry - carb free with fresh tofu. Yum!

Since i moved to new office in mt eden, this one of the closest resto to the office.. went here couples time, tried tom kha gai (chicken and coconut soup) really really delicious, also big portion of tom yam fried rice, and great seafood curry rice.. also takeaway some for Denny Setiawan for our dinner 😬😬 he loves it
Renee
I can see how this place would be a hit amongst busy office people and uni students. The atmosphere is lovely and really makes you want to stay. Large variety of noodles and rice dishes. We ordered the crispy pork noodles and a peanut flavoured fried flat-rice-noodles. The pork was quite dry but had good flavour. All in all the food was pretty average but the place is inviting and the staff are very tentative
M24g
Lovely place that offers lovely food..! We ordered wok n noodle stars crispy pork belly with noodles and Cashew chicken with Jasmin rice. Absolutely loved it.
Rachael Patching
I regularly eat lunch here. Today when I was close to finishing my dish i discovered there was black hair in the bottom of my bowl. I nearly wretched. I brought it to the staffs attention and they offered to refund $10. Almost as insulting as finding their hair in my food. Cleanliness and attitude both dismal.

AMBIENCE 5/5
SERVICE/STAFF 5/5
FOOD 5/5
PRESENTATION 5/5
QUANTITY/PRICE 5/5

I just love this place. I have been here many times over the past 5 years and it always makes me happy to go back. The ambience is wonderful there is space inside and outside which can fit a lot of people. If you want to sit outside there is heating lamps outside which you can use to keep you warm. Every single time I went this place is always super busy surprisingly on Saturday when I went it was empty we were the only ones there. Maybe because there was a game going on and everyone was busy with that. But place was quiet and service was excellent as we were the only ones there and food came pretty quickly. Even the times we have went and place is busy we get served right away and food comes at a good time.. have not ever had any problems with anything. The girl who served us was nice and smiled which is very important. Food was excellent came very hot. Presentation is nice as well. Quantity we got was amazing I can never finish a whole plate, I always end up taking the rest home but this time since we shared we managed to finish the food. Finally the price is perfect for what we get. And I love the fact there is hot sauce and chilli pepper there to add to your food. Since we love spicy food it’s always nice there is extra sauce in table for people who might not find it spicy enough.
Siddy
the place is conviniently close to a lot of workplaces. Not too much space to sit inside if you have abig group but for couple of people its fine. Theres some space to sit outside too. I love the fresh authentic taste of their food
Julia Yang
My go to takeaway place!! Always so satisfying and the portion sizes are huge which is always a plus. Can not recommend this place enough as it just hits the spot when you’re craving Asian fusion, prices are also reasonable. 10/10 recommend and will continue eating here. Ps I recommend the chicken vermicelli noodle salad, the chicken fried rice + drunken fried rice is a must
Sean Chitty
Love this place, fresh and healthy. Awesome flavours, my go to is the pork belly or cashew chicken. Everything on the menu is delicious. Highly recommend!
Sonia De Los Rios
Exceptional service, food and ambiance. We have been coming to Wok-n-Noodle for the past three years and the food is always fresh and delicious. Great value and they are always generous with their veggies and meat. Love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy asian fusion restaurant. Try the pad thai!
Grant McAneaney
Another excellent meal at this awesome eatery, service is always good and food is stunning. Had the Prawn and Calamari fresh tasty and very filling , my wife had Ram Rung Sung? She said it was tasty and enjoyable, great value for money.
Darko
Disappointed. They made a wrong order and then they claimed that we didn't order the right thing and didn't want to refund it or replace it until my wife called them again and had an argument with them. It's not customer's fault if their English is not great and don't listen. Pretty average food anyways and poor customer service.
Benedict Uy
Stopped by for takeaway since I was close by and always wanted to try it.

The place was fairly full for a Wednesday, which was a good sign. Ordered three mains and an entree and it came to around $50. it didn't take too long to get the food and I quite like the fact they were using paper and recyclable plastic containers.

Wasn't a fan of the fish cakes but the Massaman curry was quite nice. Wasn't too impressed with the pad thai but the duck noodles were alright.

Friendly service and good quality cheap meals.
Jessica Callistus
I was starving so I ordered the Chinese style crispy pork belly with rice noodles & the tom kha gai.

Pork belly noodles - the taste of the sauce was delicious and there were heaps of fresh veges! This was great because it made you feel less guilty about eating a plate of carbs haha but the pork was horrible. It wasn’t crispy in the slightest it was just really tough to eat. It was solid like it had been sitting out in the sun all day and my jaw hurt at the end of my meal.

Tom Kha Gai - this was supppper yummy and cheap! It’s listed under ‘snack’ so it could easily have been missed but the portion is generous, comes with lots of chicken and mushrooms, taste and spice was perfect and best of all - it was only $4.50! This was my fave!

I would for sure come back in future but would probably not get anything pork related. It was borderline inedible. Looking forward to coming back in future and trying other dishes out though!

Normally I go to the wok n noodle in the city, first time going to Mt Eden.
By far wok n noodle make the best Penang curry ❤️ I'd been craving this all week so finally decided to order some.
We had:
- Chicken Penang curry
- chicken fried rice
- pad thai
- wok fried sweet & sour tarakihi noodles

Kids loved their dishes and my curry was as per usual delicious, only down side was the waiter forgot to ask me how spicy I wanted the curry and I also forgot so I had the full blast for heart burn later (currently pregnant)

Great atmosphere, was quite busy when we arrived.

Will def come back.
Jasmine
Love this place, always fresh and tasty, lots of veges. They are very accommodating for dietary requirements, I love the low carb and carb free options. Try the nasi goreng, whiskey duck or crispy pork belly stirfry. You won't be disappointed! Busy little place but very fast- after many years of coming here I've only had a long wait there once (over 30 Min) on an extremely busy Saturday night.
Anish Ketty
Best fusion restaurant I had been. Quick service. Loud owner. Excellent food. My favs are Tom yum fried rice, Nadi goreng and green curry. A must visit.
LEE
Food are not consistent, I will order the same food but every week, different taste.
This place is really accessible to our office, if we only have too many choice here at Mt.Eden i wont come here. Customer Service is not great , not really friendly.
What i love here is the online order and pick up, easy access and navigation to their website.
Tc Z
Love their Pad Kee Mao and Red curry with duck, my all time favourite that I will never have enough! Have been customer for this little gem in Mt Eden for over 10years and they are always consistent with great good quality and good customer service.
Roger Margiela
Good service, Good Food, Reasonable Price. (10/10 why must reviews be 140 characters when all I wanted to write was something short and simple.)
Elsasemailaddress
Yum. Always tasty and good for gluten free and dairy free. Dishes are good size for price. Have been a few times and have always had consistently good food.
Iris Iris
Our place for lunch once a month, it's very nice to sit outside and inside. Food comes quickly, can order takeaways. Dishes could be better in terms of taste, also I can never finish the amount of rice or noodles they put, such a waste. Seafood special is my favourite. On the picture- seafood curry - is Ok. Ate lamb curry once, it was very fat, felt very bad after that. In general all curry dishes here is super fat, maybe it is just a nature of all curry dishes, I'm not a fan of it anyway. Cashew chicken is nice.
Danielle Riethmiller
The place is cute and set up for sharing meals if you're dining in. The employees were friendly and the service was super quick. We had the ginger beef, nasi goreng, chicken satay, and prawn spring rolls - all of which I would definitely recommend. All at great prices as well. Will definitely return.
Lana Maria Lazarevich
I love that Wok' N Noodle have stayed modest with their prices. The food quality seems to have very slightly diminished over the years. I love their cashew chicken for it's fresh, mixed flavour however the taste was lacking this time around. The Squid with Sweet & Sour sauce was amazing, the Pork Belly fried rice was unordinary (not in a bad way) and had a great zing to it. I would come here often if it wasn't so packed as when it is, a tense atmosphere is felt. Great central location (Mt Eden) and nice setting both indoor and outdoor.
Ashleigh Michelle
Staff are always so friendly and loud! Love the menu here, its always a struggle to decide what to choose as everything sounds delicious! I really like how they have made the cuisine healthier than most restaurants out there by using coconut sugar and having gluten free and low/no carb options.
Stephy_NakiGirl
On this occasion we ordered takeaway which was really easy to do online. You are able to alter your order & add things such as brown rice too.
We ordered the mixed entree x2 , prawn spring rolls x2, and for mains, the ginger beef, chicken pad Thai, and panang chicken. Servings look small, but are actually quite generous. The four entrees & 3 mains were sufficient for 6 people. All dishes were made well & really tasty. Price was very reasonable too at around $83.
Lara Adams
This place is a little hidden GEM in Mt Eden!! The entrance is quite anonymous and non flashy but it adds to the greatness of the place. Inside there is a decent sitting area and quite a bit of seating arrangement outside which is handy on a sunny day! The staff is friendly but sometimes I was served by an older Asian lady who wasnt so friendly and does not understand much English.
Now on to the food, which is their master craft. Their food is amazing! I LOVE it! I have tried quite a few of their noodle and rice dishes and it never disappoints. Price wise its a bargain as the mains are good quantity and doesnt leave you wanting more. Its always fresh and consistently good.
Nathalie
I personally like this place! Venue is so handy and easy to find, good parking and staff are super friendly! Lots to choose from their menu and all seem pretty yummy (we always get pad thai, drunken fried rice, whisky duck, beef and ginger) all very yummy! Really nice flavours and good quality, and decent amount of meat:noodle/rice ratio. Price is very cheap for what you get, one noodle box can feed 2 people. Will be back!

Warning for All Vegetarians !!!!Hi, I had terrible experience at Wok' n Noodle Bar Mt Eden. I am vegetarian and ordered an vegetarian dish. But these guys are very careless and served the dish with chicken. I asked two times whether it is 100% veterinarian they said yes. Later I found out the dish had chicken in it. I left the dish as it is and didn't had it. When I asked about this to lady serving the dish, she didn't pay any attention and ignored this. It was very bad and ridiculous experience. They didn't feel any sorry for that and also I paid for the dish which I didn't had.

All vegetarian guys please aware!!!!!!!!!! they don't care about customers.
Andy
BUYER BEWARE

I had my night absolutely ruined by the terrible customer service At this restaurant. They completely mucked up my order, then refused to set it right and denied the wrongdoing. They rudely wasted my time and money.

Do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY
Sophia
Amazing food, but if you're coming during a busy period (e.g. lunch on a weekday), your best bet is to order online and pick up in 15 minutes! If you dine in you can wait for up to an hour while the takeaway crowd stream in and out with the delicious bags tucked under their arms. The whisky duck is my favourite dish.
Ahmad Al
Food is always fresh and veges are crispy.
Staff are friendly.
Rating out of 5 (5 being the highest):

Food – 4.5

Ambiance – 4
Presentation – 5
Service – 4
Environment – 5

Well done Lee & the team.

I got takeaways from this place. I didn't have to wait too long. However, the dishes I ordered tasted awful. Chicken lettuce wraps smelled like vomit, the money bags were the most edible of the lot. The teriyaki chicken tasted funny, I had an upset stomach after having this meal. I won't be visiting this place again.
Victoria Elizabeth Oldfield
Amazing food, really fast delivery. I'm never disappointed with any selection from there and the service is great. Always get the curry puffs as a starter and they're always perfect
Debbie L2
Food a 4 and the .5 is the guy that served us was awesome! Got a range of dishes and they were all delicious. you can ask for them to make it mild or medium. The mild was still quite spicy for me but still enjoyed. The price matches what your getting, decent sized meals.
Frank Lin
This is located in a rather remote place in Mt. Eden. Actually fairly close to the prison.

I feel that the place is a bit second tier compared with the Shortland St. restaurant. Even though the prices are the same.

The staff seemed a bit more aloof here than at Shortland St and less friendly.

Overall, the food was nice but the location isn't great. It is too far from the main road.
Infi
Excellent food, staff. Price was reasonable. They may have increased the price a bit. Hope they won't increase the price further. Staff are really friendly.
Penelope Chua
I always order their nasi goreng, it's a decent dish. their chilli beef is another favourite. You can request for them to make it mild, medium or spicy. always convenient as i work near the area and I can rely on them for a quick meal.

Love that there's a vegetarian section- always end up getting something with tofu. The food is fresh and comes out really fast, and the staff are a delight. Will be trying your place in town next!
Stango
Delicious noodles and a great substitute for when you're wanting a greasy takeaway fix without all the nasties. Their flexibility with major ingredients in all of their dishes gets a huge thumbs up from me. Need more places like Wok n Noodle who offer brown rice / low carb / refined sugar free / gluten free options etc. Paying $14-$15 per meal instead of $10ish from a classic takeaway is not a bad compromise for health and knowing what's going into your food.
Purita Mok
Always big portions that are so satisfying and staff have always been friendly and accomodating. They are also flexible to accomodate my needs and can put tofu in all the dishes as meat substitutes so I thank them for that!
Kate Irvine
Havnt been here in a while but absolutely BEAUTIFUL food and so glad came back.
Had caveman meal and a perfect amount of meat, lots of varity in vegetables. Quick service considering how busy they were.
Thanks so much wok n noodle... will see you again soon!!
Luke Bilbrough
Walked in at lunch like a boss, superb recommendations from the staff. Got the nasi goreng because it has the biggest portion. Fresh flavours and fresh service with good music and nice outdoor atmosphere. Top notch. Keep it up.
Zoheb Gafoor
My favorite Thai restaurant in town. Am a big fan of Thai curries and Wok N Noodle stands out.
My favorite would be the Panang Curry - red curry with peanuts, pumpkin, carrot and capsicum in panang paste and coconut milk served with a portion of Brown/White rice.
Farshid Hakimi
For start I love this place and for sure the owner. He has such a happy character .
Amazing customer service as well.
From the food I never been disappointed.
I order sukiyaki Chicken and a amount of food I had my dish it was perfect and spicy enough.
Satay chicken stick and prawns roll was amazingly crispy.
Chilli beef was beautiful too .you could taste a so many different spice in it and beef was cooked amazing and it was so soft and melting .
Prices are good as well.
Must recommend.
I would definitely go back.
Rebecca MacDonald
My brother raves about it this place so we decided to check it out. I had the chicken lettuce cups and he had the pork belly on noodles. They were both delicious, fresh ingredients and cheap! They had lots of options for no sugar or gluten so a good healthy quick dinner option!
Wanderlust
Came here for a dinner with a small group.

Friendly welcome when we entered and seated quickly. It took a long time for the waitress to take our orders in, but the food came quickly after that.

The starters are great, so I suggest getting the mixed entree. I got the Whiskey Duck which was lovely, a good ratio of duck, noodles and veggies. Spicy is what I requested but wasn't that spicy for me personally however they had great chilli condiments on the table which I enjoyed and was able to get it up to the perfect temp for me.

Overall a nice place to get a casual dinner to have with friends.
Sheena
Wok'n'Noodle has been consistent in terms of food and service all the times I have been here! Though I haven't dined in, I have come for Thai take out a few times. The tom yum goong is decent! I have also had the pad see u which I liked as well! The tom yum fried rice was also very nice. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours were suited to my taste! Service is pretty good, though it depends sometimes on who you get! Overall, a great place to get Thai take aways, and I will keep coming back!
Johann*
This place used to be my 'go to' for good Asian food and after this evenings visit I remembered why I stopped frequenting the place.

The service is a little bit 'hit and miss'. For example on this visit we waited 15mins (which is quite a long time) before I had to get up and grab menus yet two other couples/groups we're presented with menus as soon as they were seated.
There have been other instances of poor service but I won't bring these up in my review as these experiences were in the past.

On a more positive note.....the food is really good. It's healthy and fresh depending on what you order. Low carb and gluten free options available.

Rating out of 5 (5 being the highest):
Food – 4
Ambience – 4
Presentation – 4
Service – 2
Environment – 4

Ordered two items for takeaway at 6.35. Wasn't ready until 7.30. Food was delicious as always. Establishment is consistently understaffed. Sometimes it is a good experience. Sometimes bad. Would not recommend as a reliable takeaway
Victoria
Not bad, great for takeaways for a night in. Big portions, good prices and extensive menu. Can't really complain! Worth a try. Will be back.
I Love Food
Love wok n noodle! Always great food. My favourite are the pad see ew and wholemeal Japanese noodles. The staff are really nice and it is always super busy. Would recommend ordering online and picking up. It's always quite a wait for the food probably just because they are so busy. One time it took over an hour to get takeaways which was very frustrating but other than that would definitely recommend!
Jo-Ann
This place is the best! I especially love your tom yum goong! Your food is so fresh and excellent in value. My partner and I ordered 3 dishes for lunch today and it came up to just under $45. We've never gotten a bad dish, ever, and always receive warm friendly hospitality from your staff. Keep it up, we love you guys!
Dan Norton
This place is great! I have been a longtime fan! The food is fresh, tasty and great value for money. The service is good and welcoming. Everything on the menu is enjoyable and they even accommodate low or no carb options and paleo friendly dishes.
For a healthy tasty takeaway (although they also offer dine in) you cannot go past Wok n Noodle!!

We ordered online on their website to pickup:
Mee goreng+ Options: Chicken+ Healthy Options: Low Carbs 1
Money Bags 1Prawn spring roll 1
Whiskey Roast duck
+ Option: Thick egg noodle 1 Warm vegetable salad+ Options: Tofu+ Extras: Extra TofuSpecial Instructions: no mayonnaise
We received an email 1 minute later with the "Estimated Ready Date and Time" with the same time we ordered. Of course, we assumed this was a technical issue and we arrived around 20 minutes later. When we arrived it turned out they didn't even have taken our order but they said it wouldn't take long. After 30 minutes waiting, they delivered our order and we went home.
When we arrived at home we noticed that half of the Warm vegetable salad we ordered was actually "rice" but on the website, it didn't mention anything about that (check pictures included). We called them to ask about and to our surprise, we were treated extremely bad. The person on the other side of the line was very rude and just told us the meal was supposed to be on that way and that's why it's called "Warm vegetable salad", Really? We asked why the website didn't mention anything about rice on the salad and they basically said they didn't know anything about the website but the meal was right...
If you are looking for some Thai food, do a favor for yourself and stay way as much you can from this place. Try Red Elephant instead or anything else but stay way from this place if you value your time.

Normally the food here is excellent. Sadly our last few orders have left us feeling frustrated. Wrong orders or dishes missing key components! Service is always friendly but communication between front of house and kitchen is obviously lacking! We love eating here but our patience I wearing thin.

I came here for a sleepy Sunday dinner wanting something hearty and it was a winner. Yum food, lots of options to tailor your meal to your liking, and plenty of crunchy veges! Service was also super fast! Would definitely recommend as a quick and easy eat in or take out option

This place is really good. You can count on Lee to recommend a great meal. The food here is really well priced and the portions are pretty big, me and my partner always share a main. I personally would recommend the pad kee Mao vegetarian or chicken and the pad see eiw. Health conscious and fresh every time. Service is good and it's a perfect place for a casual eat regardless of the group size big or small they well make it work. Free off street parking so it's easy for takeaways too

Love the food. Really good option when you want something delicious for lunch and work in the area. Service is great and efficient. Parking can be a bit hard.

I have been to Wok' n noodle two times, both takeaway - so I will only comment on the food. The first night I had Pad Thai, the portion was really good value for money, the taste was good, but I have had better Pad Thai in Auckland - was a bit dry and perhaps lacked more flavour i'm used to. The second night I had Nasi Goreng and it was the best Nasi Goreng I have eaten. It was so flavoursome, and the portion size was great. I still managed to eat it all, because it was amazing. The Nasi Goreng definitely saved it for me. I can't wait to get the Nasi Goreng again. Highly recommended food! Sadly they don't deliver :(

Not been to these guys for years, only just remembered about them as I was passing. Grateful I did! Food still amazing and healthy fast food at that! Love it and will definitely be back soon!!

My favourite place for a cheeky mid week lunch, the food is always fresh, I have never had a bad meal from here, love the friendly service! Pays to get in before 12:30 during the week as this place gets packed!
Greg Jonas
Fairly good service. Had the entree consisting of Japanese meatballs, these were pretty bland. However both mains made up for this. The Mee Goreng was full of flavour and the Choo Chee was also. Only flaw we could find in the Choo Chee was the fish, that could have been a bit fresher. Certainly be going back again.

Unfortunately my review isn't a good one. This is the second time that I have had to wait for an hour for my order. We ordered online and then when we came to pick it up we were waiting for an hour. They are soooo under staffed, the poor lady was rushing around like crazy. We won't be going there again. Such a shame.

Went for a dine in as a farewell dinner last tuesday and was so surprised that this place was packed with lines! My friend had been recommending this place for so lon, so we finally all budged and decided to go.

What I absolutely love about this place is the service. It was packed to the brim and lines were crazy with people paying, ordering and waiting for pickup. They dealt with this very quickly and efficiently.

We sat outside and I ordered Sukiyaki chicken ($14), my friends ordered the tom yum tofu, sweet and sour pork, vege green thai curry and pad thai. When one of my friends actually ordered something with egg (when she couldnt eat) they returned with a new meal free of charge within a 5 minute wait which was great even though my friend was at fault. All my friends loved their meals, which were very decently sized portions- more than enough to fill us up.

I did end up taking away my meal to eat the next day but the udon noodles by this point had started tasting very vinegar-y.

All in all a very good dining experience. Will definitely be back :)

Live close by to Wok n Noodle so we go there sometimes usually for takeout. Never disappointed! Have had a fair few things from the menu, I recommend the crispy pork belly, mee goreng, fried rice and chicken satay sticks. Pretty efficient with cooking although dinner on a weekend can be a bit of a wait if dining in - they're very busy so it's understandable! Lee does a great job with the place. Highly recommended in my books

great for work lunches - takeaways! I dont think I have ever had anything from here that hasn't been delicious - and they totally understand the meaning of spicy!

I am usually that person who sticks to the same stuff - so whiskey duck with rice for me thank you! But seeing as to how delicious everyone else's meals looked (SERIOUS FOOD ENVY Y'ALL) I have HAD to experiment - basically good flavours, and they are happy to make slight ammendments.

All in all - pretty delicious!

Wok n Noodle is a great restaurant; I went with two different friends and you can really just see how well regarded the place is - well known and always busy. The owner seems like a really great guy and the green curry here actually replaced my long time favourite (NO zomato don't make me say 'favorite') at Jungle Flavour - which is still amazing don't get me wrong. Great location and just perfect for a cheap dinner out for students like myself.
Dave
What not to like about wok and noodle? It is one of my favourite takeaway food in Mt Eden. Portion is great and love the taste. Like the fact that when noodle dish is ordered, its half noodle and half other ingredients like veges and meat, not like almost all noodle with little veges and meats. Highly recommended.

I've been to this place a number of times now and it is still consistently great! The portion sizes are decent, lots of variety on the menu, and I particularly appreciate the flexibility of menu items. The only suggestion I have is to re-visit the presentation of the Vegetarian Spring Rolls - for the price, I expected more than just a couple of little rolls.
David Arthur
I went there for the first time last night with a friend who had been there before and recommended it. I was impressed. The food was excellent. Good quality and sized portions - great value for money. I plan to go back again very soon.

These guys can be busy, so if taking away it is best to phone order or order through their website (works great on your smart phone).

One of their must try dishes is the Chicken Lettuce Wrap which has fantastic fresh favours. The rest of the menu is also very good.

It is worth hunting to place out if you are looking for a change.

We visited for lunch today. They were very busy, and though they apologised for the wait it was a while for a quick wok place and our meals came out separately and with nearly a 5 minute wait between. My partner enjoyed his meal (sweet and sour pork), while I have to say mine was delicious for the first bite after that I realised how salty and strong the flavour was, overpowering. I had Nasi Goreng. After eating at a few noodle places over and over I always feel compared to their competition (Otto Woo) they lack lustre every time. I gave them one last try today and I've decided I definitely won't go back again and instead will go to Otto Woo

Excellent food! Fresh produce and cooked to perfection. So many dishes to choose from. Big fan of this place, the staff are also super friendly. Will have to return to try one of the carb free curries!

Consistently excellent food and impressive service - whether eating in, or to go & we vary our selections, often.

Carl & Barbara

Mount Eden

I love this joint. I probably order a takeaway there twice a week. It's become a a staple of my diet. Service is always top notch and how can you go past the pricing?!!! Fantastic.
Anastasia
I love this place!! The menu is exceptional, prices are affordable (it is important for me because I am a student), portion sizes are big and food is always at its best taste! The only wish I have is to place another Wok'n'Noodle Bar near central city, so it would be easier to get there without a car =)
Wok N Noodle
Fantastic! Very fast, fresh, delicious and affordable.

Great food. Fast service & great prices. I have been eating here over the last year & a half - and haven't had a bad experience yet. Friendly staff and cannot stress how tasty the dishes are! If your dining - casual and on a budget - I highly recommend this place!
Ewen Cafe
I've been dining at Wokn Noodle on and off since they first re-launched as a noodle bar (was originally a cafe) and I find the food amazing!! My personal favs would have to be the Pad Thai and Beef Ginger.. just scrummy... portion sizes have reduced a little over the years, just as well too coz the Pad Thai would normally do me for lunch and an afternoon snack, it was HUGE... I don't work in the area anymore but my wife and I often call in for a treat after a night out in town.
Gail Batten
They are always friendly, the menu extensive and the food not skimpy on the good ingredients.
Very tasty and healthy and they now do gluten free and low carbohydrate options. Cool! Oh yes and the quality is consistent which a lot of other cafes/restaurants could learn from.
Jessica
I've been going to Wok n Noodle for the past four years or so and I've NEVER had a bad experience. It's fresh, tasty, healthy and I honestly think that those bad reviews were from saboteurs because this place is amazing! I can't recommend the food or the service enough.
Mags
Wok n Noodle is fantastic! Cannot understand the couple of negative reviews I've read. The food is tasty, full of fresh, tasty ingredients and the staff are flexible enough to accommodate requests to alter dishes according to the customer's needs. Every time I've been in, there have been many regular customers in and I think this says much about the standard of the food. This is absolutely my favourite noodle place!

Best noodles and service in Auckland....Love this Noodle Bar and have eaten noodles all over Asia!!!!

After seeing the review in the Herald we drove for 20ks to try the food.
We ordered take-away and were told of a 25minute wait. We waited for an hour (57 minutes to be exact) for 4 meals.
The "Wok'n'noodle bar speciality" Prawn & Calamari was half a box of noodles, 2 very small prawns with tails on, a prawn tail with no meat and 2 pieces of calamari. My medium to hot order came very mild.
The crispy fried fish was soggy with very little fish.
4 of us dined and all 4 were very disappointed in the meals. At $12-14.50 per meal with very little meat/seafood no wonder the owner was smiling.

I've been lunching at Wokn Noodle regularly for the past 18 months and haven't had a bad meal yet. The produce is fresh and the flavours interesting. It's great value for money and the Chicken Satays are a must.

We did a takeaway from here and simply loved the food. I am a vegetarian and extremely picky- but the staff was very accommodating and tweaked the menu for me. My partner had prawns and calamari and loved it. The quantity was very filling with lots of vegetables in both dishes. For $26 total it was worth the visit and we will be going again.

We tried Wokn Noodle two nights in a row, first dining in and then takeaway.

The service was great and the food sort of interesting, but their seafood dishes seemed devoid of any actual seafood with "prawn and calamari" noodles having three small prawns and one tiny piece of calamari hidden amongst a few vegetables. Bizarrely, this nearly soup-like concoction was served on a plate making it difficult to eat.

The second time around we decided to try takeaway, since we just love eating from boxes. It turns out anything chicken-based has a lot of chicken in it, although the teriyaki chicken didn't actually have any teriyaki flavouring and tasted like it had been boiled unseasoned. Adding insult to injury, they overcharged us on each item ordered as if they were delivering, when in fact we picked it up ourselves making the meal 50% more expensive than their takeaway menu advertised.

Pretty hit and miss. There's probably better places out there.

Got takeaways tonight - their website is excellent for pre-ordering. All their dishes are customisable; they offer a huge range of options such as low carb, no carb, no capsicum, no onion, added cashews, brown rice instead of white amongst others. The menu is a bit different to your usual Chinese. It's definitely got a Thai slant to it. They say to allow 15 minutes for the food to be ready but they were much faster than that - the speed was impressive.

I got the seafood fried rice, the beef ginger and the side dish of Thai calamari with BBQ tamarind sauce. The fried rice had loads of seafood in it and was a very large serving. The thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it was slightly sweet, which shows the Thai influence, but that's just my personal taste. I'm an MSG girl, not a sweet chilli sauce girl (disclaimer: I'm not saying that either of these ingredients are in the fried rice!).
The beef ginger tasted fresh and zingy with lots of beef and veges. It's usually served with thick egg noodles (which it doesn't say on the website but it does say on their menu) but I opted for the no carb option so just got the beef and veges.
The calamari was slightly chewy, which I don't mind at all. The kind of odd but not displeasing note was the fact that it was served on a some shredded cabbage with mayonnaise but because the calamari was very saucy it all mixed together. I like the fact that they have a large range of these smaller side dishes.

I'd definitely be keen to try other dishes on their very large menu.

Feb 2015 - having had food from here a few more times since my review, I have to say that I find their dishes to be overly sweet to the point that I probably won't be getting food from here any more. Please note that this is my personal taste, that I have an aversion to sweetness in savoury foods in general e.g. I cannot stand sweet chilli sauce or maple/honey-cured bacon. I even find balsamic vinegar too sweet for my taste.

Always tasty and well priced food with very friendly and fast service.

Lee from Wok n' Noodle is a friendly, smiley chappie. He makes nutritious, delicious food all day to swarms of happy customers, so it's no doubt he's a smiley chappie.

Normanby road is just around the corner from my work so I dine regularly at Wokanoodle (as I thought it was called after hearing it advertised on the radio a hundred times). This ain't no cheesy grotty chinese stir-fry place like those on Dominion Road though, no, no, this is all about healthy, fast food with a smile. The prices are reasonable. You'll pay between $10-14 for a main course. The portions are huge and are value for money, although I wouldn't mind seeing a half-size offered up for less money if I'm honest - sometimes I'm not always ravenous!

There's an outdoor part which is great to dine with colleagues especially with a cheeky wee Sapporo or Asahi on a sunny day. Lunchtime is the time to be at Wok N' Noodle, unfortunately, half of Mount Eden think the same way on a nice day too. You'll find a steady flow of customers between 12-1.30pm every week day. Some times it's too busy to get parked, and some times it's too busy to get a seat! Good thing, then that they do takeaway too!

I've had a good selection of the various dishes from the menu and I've yet to find one I don't like. Sometimes my gut can be a little on the tender side so I'm always wary of getting spicy or glutenous dishes as I often feel bloated or lethargic following them; not the sort of thing you want at lunch time on a busy work day! I'm glad to say that every dish at Wok n' Noodle has left me feeling un-bloated and spritely after dining there, especially after eating their caveman curry, which contains no Gluten, no sugar and no carbs. It's still bloody tasty so I recommend it - try the Pork Belly Yellow Caveman Curry if you don't mind going a bit 'crazy' on the fattier meats :)

I love Wok n' Noodle. It's friendly staff, it's healthy, quick, tasty menu and it's slightly different twist on Asian food that's sure to have you coming back for more!
