This has recently become my sanctuary , great service , food , tea and coffee made with love , it's like going home to ones family and being treated like a King /Queen , all the staff here are respectful and connecting , you will leave with a stomach that is happy and feel better about yourself having encountered caring human beings , an endangered species . With a little spare time in Auckland and my sister and I popped out to Mt Eden village, and found this gem! It quite made my day. There was even a young writer with tea and his laptop, working on his novel.

Love this place! This is a really cute cafe/bookstore. There is a huge range of delicious teas to select from, the staff are always really friendly and helpful with recommendations. Definitely one of my favourite spots.
Been coming to this cafe for almost 3 years and I have to say that I will always be coming back. They have the most friendliest and helpful staff. Not only they have a variety of teas from fruit teas to traditional teas but they also specialise in bringing out romance books.

Great atmosphere that can get rid of the noise of Mt Eden. There are many kind of tea and coffee that you can choose. The most special tea is ice matcha tea, I really recommend to try!
I'm really happy with the customer service. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and made you feel comfortable. Love how the place is set out, the music and books made it really relaxing for people to sit and talk with friends or family in the cafe. Would definitely come back to have a breather after uni and do bit of uni work there.
The first time I went to Chapter Book and Tea, I was just exploring the Mt Eden Village. I liked the idea of reading books while drinking tea, a midway between a café and a library. I was more drawn to the tea collection than their books, though. I somehow stumbled upon their African Dream black tea and loved it so much that I used to tell everyone. That was more than half a dozen years ago... Perhaps drawn by nostalgia, I recently went back for another bagful of the dreamy tea leaves. For my winter reading nook at home...
A perfect place to go on a relaxing day. My friend and I come here almost every Sunday morning because it is just the perfect place to relax. The staff are nice and there are so many teas as well as books to choose from 🍵
A cool place that serves a wide range of hot teas. The place is small but cozy. There's some small eats as well. The staff is friendly and courteous. Will go again
CB&TS is a nice relaxing zen like 'nook' located in the heart of Mt Eden. It's been around for years and sadly, I'd never bothered to pop in. But after lunch in buzzing Ponsonby, this seemed like our perfect little time out.
We ordered a peppermint tea and a hot toddy, sat down, took a breath and relaxed. CB&TS is lovely and I look forward to popping in there again, this time w. a good book.
You can buy coffee there also, along w, your normal sweet treats and there are books galore to peruse and purchase. Every neighbourhood needs a CB&TS.Andrew @anjeats
Such a lovely tea shop. The staff are really nice and they go above and beyond. I wanted to buy my favourite Pukka Three Cinnamon tea but they didn’t have it in stock. They gave me a few tea bags from behind the counter, took my number and let me know when they will have it again for sale.
Their tea selection is also great, I bought some Japanese loose leaf sencha green tea - fantastic quality and a cute little teapot.

We came out here to come get some tea, and the range was surprisingly large and very well priced. We purchased some loose leaf tea and some prepackaged. Both brilliant.
The staff were great for a chat and very helpful.
Frances was absolutely amazing. Communication was timely and helpful and they went above and beyond to help me decide options of books and shipping, including providing clear price breakdowns. The books arrived to Canada in excellent condition and well packaged. I am so appreciative of their willingness to ship outside of New Zealand and how easy they made it. I would definitely buy from this store again as they were absolutely lovely to work with.

Get a tea for 2 all to yourself. You won’t regret it. Amazing selection like none other. Not that into reading but the wall of books is nice to stare at anyway.
Had a try of their hot chat latte and matcha latte in cold the other day. Both tatsed absolutely silky and smooth. Spent a peaceful and relaxing afternoon there reading some books and daydreaming for a bit. Would love to go again some time in the weekend!! Definitely recommend this place to all ages!! :)
This is a healing place where you can find comfort with teas and reading. In a world that is filled with fizzy drinks and devices, Chapter Book & Tea Shop constantly reminds us where we are from. The small shop is full of love and happiness that is just like a small community hub where patrons enjoy their brewed teas and indulgence of reading. We need more places like this!
I've been buying from Frances for about 15 years (before online orders were a thing!) She and the staff are honestly so amazing and always go out of the way to provide the best possible experience. Highly recommend a visit or purchase for anyone who loves books and tea!
