Delicious food. They have a vegetarian options as well which is the best party of our experience. Good customer service. Busy place pre booking is highly recommended. Keep up the good work.

The Manee Thai restaurant delivered a delightful experience, starting with the flavorful Chicken Fried Rice—a perfect balance of textures and aromas. The Chicken Satay was a highlight, featuring tender skewers complemented by a delectable peanut sauce. The Chicken Red Curry stood out for its rich, spicy profile, showcasing the chef's mastery of Thai spices. The diverse combination of these dishes provided a satisfying journey through Thai flavors. Additionally, the attentive staff added a touch of hospitality, making it a recommendable spot for those seeking an authentic Thai culinary adventure.

We came here for lunch. Booked a table for 6 just the night before. Our first time here and the experience was great. Warm welcome by front of house, our table was next to a fire place so very apt for the cold outside. A very friendly waitress took and delivered our orders. These are the only two staff members we in front. We ordered 6 mains and 1 entreé. The whole snappers sweet sour was perfect, duck was good too, we ordered spicy dish, 2 chicken dishes and a seafood one. Entreé was tempura prawns also crispy large prawns.

The wait was about 50 mins but the food was great, wouldn't recommend the hotpot tomyum, 30$+ comes with 5 ok size prawns

A very nice restaurant to try it out. Looked quiet and dark from outside however lots of happy customers inside. Authentic Thai, only slightly salty but still very tasty. Portions are generous enough. Ordered Yum Chicken Salad and Red Curry with Roast Ducks. Would definitely come back again.

Always give credit, where it's due. Had a great dinner here. Food was delicious and great portion sizes too. Prices are great and it sure is a must try, if you're in the area for an authentic thai meal. Overall a great restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Whether you're a Thai cuisine enthusiast or simply looking for a delicious meal in a pleasant setting, Manee Thai delivers on all fronts. I can't wait to return and indulge in their fantastic dishes once again! 🌟 🌟 🌟

The food was tasty, the people polite.. Food came quickly but it wasn't too busy at the time. Large portions. I had a Strawberry Jasmine iced tea which I didn't realize I needed to stir as it was extremely sweet initially. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Looking forward to going back and trying something else on the menu.

Best food I have since I am in Auckland for 20 years . It was our best 28th best wedding anniversary dinner. I will recommend our family's to go here for dinner

We choose the best option to have lunch after walking around. Beautiful decoration, great space and super friendly staff. The food was delicious, specially the mussels, smoky flavour 😋 Fish and chips for the little ones. Toilets clean and tidy. Happy with our first experience here, wanting to try the fish next time. See you guys 😀

We came by for lunch on a Saturday. We did book beforehand but they didn't have it on file but fortunately, they had space and we were able to get a table. The interior is really interesting. There were a few elevated booths as well as a really interesting carved mural on the wall in the dining area. The area around the fireplace also looked quite interesting. The menu is decently sized with a range of different items similar to other Thai places. We grabbed a few things to share. The pad se ew was really delicious. It had a nice smokey flavour which was quite mooreish. The snapper in the jungle was also quite nice. The garlic pepper lamb, kae kra tiam, was also quite nice with tender lamb slices. We tried the prawn sashimi and that had an interesting flavour. The larb gai wasn't minced so it was a bit different but the flavours were quite similar. Overall it was a nice place to grab some tasty food. They were quite busy and they didn't have much staff so we ended up not ordering dessert but it's something to come back for next time.

Great food but takes long time to be served! Stir fries are perfect. Manee thai if you have limited kitchen then why don’t you start bigger plates for sharing? This way less dishes to be prepared with almost the same or more margin! You can work out math. Another aspect is you can serve more customers since one customer cycle would take less time. ( less waiting with sharing plates).

I had dinner here with my family & our friends. We enjoyed spending our time & money here. However, I would like to point out regarding my dish, the chicken satay skewers comes with only 5 small sticks & salad for $9 in which I think is a bit pricey compared to other restaurants that offers the same dish type. I reckon they should add one or two more sticks, or include some rice. Nevertheless, the sauce was really tasty and I liked it a lot. Atmosphere wise, it wasn't too bad but it wasn't too good as well since I was a little bit annoyed with the flies that hovers around my food. Other than that, the staff were friendly. Overall, I rate this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars.

Loved the ambience, food was excellent. Service was prompt. My Fresh fruit punch was yumm. Had tom yum soup and item 41 with chicken all tasty. Very happy and friendly staff. Only concern was they don't allow separate payments, they allow only 5 splits at a table. That created some confusion for big group of us at the payment.

Love this place!!! This was the third and keep coming because the food is so yum!! Definitely worth the price because of the amount you get! Very filling and filled with flavour. The green curry is delicious which is what I ordered but I’ve had the pad Thai and fried rice before and those two were great! One bad thing which drops this from a 5 to 4 would be I asked for no chill whatsoever with my meal and when I got it, the curry was so spicy I couldn’t eat it but the staff were good and my order was fixed straight away with a new curry and what I ordered! Although with this mishap would definitely recommend and keep going because the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is homely and nice!!✨

Very fragrant and delicious. The texture for the beef in the beef salad is very good too. Even included rice! Will be ordering again :) thanks Manee!

The food was really good, fair price.
The atmosphere is quiet bizarre but a good temprature, the music came straight out of the elevator but all round great.

I note that the curry puffs were to spicy as will had a big night and suffering from heart burn.

This place makes some bomb as pad Thai!! 😍 Have tried some of the other dishes and they are also good. But the pad Thai here is worth it. And it isn't too pricey either.

Fantastic place with nice ambience. Good service and quality of food ! I rate them as the best Thai restaurant I have been to in Auckland

Amazing food but EXTREMELY slow service. For 2 dishes we waited for 50 mintues and its every single time we went there even if the restaurant is not that full. I would rather now choose some other Thai restaurant than waiting here for an hour.

This restaurant felt very nice--loved the look and feel. The menu was good, had heaps of great options! The food was good too. However, the service was very slow (it looks like they get quite busy w UberEats).
Pictured: Sweet chilli battered fish.

Went here last Saturday.

The food was good. Can't complain about the food at all. Friendly service with a smile and they accomodated us nicely while we had a baby with us.

Reason for a 4 not a 5 - the mains took a long time to come out after our entree. We requested for some chilli on the side which we actually had to ask about 4 times before we got it (while most of the meals were already finished at the time). Also, the watermelon mocktail which a couple of the sober drivers got isn't a go - there's a lot of watermelon syrup in it making it very very sweet to anyone on the tables liking.

I'll still highly recommend the place. It's nice, clean, and spacious. Definitely will be back.

Good food and great service. Would recommend this place to all my friend and family and I have been here a few times just for the food.. keep it up

Great food and excellent service every single time - never been let down :) keep up the great work! Especially love the cashew nut chicken - I don’t think any other restaurant out there is as generous when it comes to portion size.

We had a lovely meal sitting next to the open fireplace. Friendly and attentive staff and delicious, perfectly cooked food. A nice place to come for families, couples or groups

Good ambience. Friendly service. But it takes time for the order but its worth the wait. Moderate pricing, try no:41 in the menu.

Keep up the good service. Cheers.

Very fresh and flavourful experience 😋 It has an amazing ambience too. I am looking forward to come back.
Must try is the lamb Penang and the tom yum soup
Mansura Haque
Each and every food was delicious. Specially the red curry (lamb). Fried rice was tasty but chicken in the rice was a bit over. friendly customer service. Would love to again.

Pity the food is not rich and delicious like Zap 2 Thai opposite them. Lovely layout inside but food pretty bland. We ordered a soup, noodles and a stir fried dish. Their style of Thai not my style hope they look to follow Zap 2's lead and recreate their recipes

We used to like it, in fact we were regular customers until we were abused by the owner last night!! Absolutely unacceptable. They served us a side plate of vegetables which included chopped stalks of broccoli and lots of them! We were told that the reason for this is because broccoli is sooo expensive at the moment - wtf! Broccoli is 2 for $3 right now. If they had simply run out of broccoli then fine just be honest and tell us, offer something else instead and move on. The price and stalks aren’t the point. The point here is how rudely the waiter and owner treated us. Over an $8 bowl of broccoli stalks. She refused to deduct the stalks from the bill, verbally abused us then barred us from the restaurant- which we frequent on a weekly basis!
Bad and very silly move. No more will we dine at this establishment. There’s lots of competition out there so you should think next time before you become so abusive and defensive about the price of broccoli stalks! I had my 3 children with me and they took an incredibly long time to serve them simple meals of fish and chips and we had to ask repeatedly for some basic paper and pencils to keep them entertained while they waited. Will never return. Really appalled by the way Skyes Mum (the owner came rushing out of the kitchen to yell at us about the price of broccoli! So unprofessional and upsetting for my children to see her bashing away at the till shaking and yelling at us. Skye and one of her friends are still arguing about it with me on social media! Unbelievable! Perhaps instead focus your attention on getting your meals out in time and not serving the vege dregs to your customers. Will never return!

Came here for Father’s Day dinner.
The interior is strongly characterised by a fusion of Roman, Indian, British and Thai vibes.

We ordered Fried Rice, Fried Egg Noodles, Whole Deep Fried Snapper, Red Duck Curry, Green Curry with Chicken, Sweet and Sour Stir-Fry, Prawn Sashimi and Stir-Fry Prawn.

Food was slow to come out and portions were unexpectedly small. Flavour-wise there was nothing special, none of the dishes really had any punch or wow-factor worth commenting on.
Personally the fried rice was a highlight, strong earthy flavours. Everything else were similar in taste.

They also forgot about our deep fried whole snapper, so we waited another 10 minutes or so for it.
The bill came to $177 and some of us left only 50% full. I think going to Zap on the opposite might be better bang for your buck.

Food: 6/10
Price: 6/10
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 7/10

Just have a lunch here. We ordered stir fired beef and veg with oyster sauce, and yellow curry plate. Lunch special price is very good, all dishes served with steam rice for free. Nice environment and friendly waiter. We have a very lovely lunch here except a constant screaming kid nearby.

Staff were friendly and service was Attentive. However food taste was not highly tasty although portions were generous.

It is in very handy location and price is reasonable so maybe try again one day.
Food Snob
I dined at Manee Thai last Friday with a group of five. The waiter promptly brought us the menus and came back after 15 minutes to get our orders. We ordered 2 Lychee Martinis, 1 Jamaican Martini, a Chardonnay and a Stella Artois to start off. For the food, we ordered 2 x Pad Med Mamuang (vegetable + tofu stir fry with cashews), fried egg noodles (tofu and egg), 3 x Red Curries (2 chicken, 1 tofu), Pad Bai Krapow (chicken basil stir fry), Kae Pad Prik Gang (lamb with lemongrass, mint and veggies).

I thought the staff had gone to Jamaica to get the Martini because it took them 30 minutes to bring us our drinks, and the restaurant barely had 12 people. The Jamaican Martini had crushed espresso beans floating on it and looked like someone had drunk half of it. We asked for it to be filled like a normal Martini and the waitress took the drink to the counter, put some ice in it, and brought it back after 10 minutes. The owner gave us the drink and said that this is how they make it in their restaurant. By then we were all getting incredibly tired and hangry and didn't want to argue so we let it be.

35 minutes later, the food arrived before our plates and cutlery did. Since the last time I was here, there has been a reduction in the portion sizes. The curries weren't bad, but they weren't special. You could get the exact same taste from a ready-made Thai curry paste from your local Asian supermarket - not ideal when you pay $18-$20 for one curry. The egg noodles were subpar, you can get better from a Chinese takeaway. The best part of the evening was the Pad Med Mamuang. Damn, was this delicious. The cashews were crunchy, the sauce had a perfect consistency, the tofu was delicious, and the vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. I couldn't fault it.

I came to Manee Thai after four years, and there isn't much of a change if I'm honest. The issue here seems to be a lack of organisation and leadership. There's inadequate communication between the staff and the customers. When the customer inflow surpasses their expectations, the staff get frazzled. A lack of preparation is a poor excuse when 1. It's a Friday night, 2. You're on Dominion Road, 3. you've been in the industry for over half a decade. It's not okay to keep customers waiting 30 minutes for their drinks and an hour for food. Had the waiter told us there was a delay in the kitchen, we would've understood, but instead, they avoided making eye contact until the food arrived. The restaurant is in a prime location, but it's disappointing to see that they're unable to get the basics right after so many years. If I haven't made it obvious already, I won't be returning.

We been there on last Friday the restaurant busy but still have seat for us. Food was good have standard Thai food taste. They made tomyum and Tom Kha soup quite good. I also like deep fried fish here too.

Service was good, friendly staff, food is average, been there few times with large groups and the staff handles us very good, forgot to take the other dishes and mains. I found the starters and drinks a little over priced for what we get. The pricing for the mains are ok. Overall good place to eat, exspecially if you go in a large group.

Service is prompt, decor is very nice. Definitely recommend the Pad Thai, can never go wrong with that. Portions are on the smaller side but taste is pretty good. Very nice that this place is halal!

The Deco is exactly as it was when it was Apadana. The staff are friendly however there is a language barrier. It's cozy and comfortable with these little "pods" in corners of the place that you can request if you're having a private party. Seats about 2 tables of 10.

The decor and cutlery is rich and decent.

If I were to suggest 1 improvement though it would definitely be the portion sizes. The appetizers leave much to be desired because there were too small and the presentation was a little disappointing. The plate was really large and the appetizers looked less. Apart from the portion sizes, the food took ages to come out.

Would I dine here again? Hmm probably. If I were only a party if 2. But I don't think it's appropriate for big crowds.
The best Thai place ever!
We are regulars here and my whole family enjoys their dishes. Their stir fry- garlic and pepper is a must try. We love the tom yum soup, curry puff and egg noodle dishes.
Just Yum!

Although the pad thai was the best that I've had, the 40 min wait for the food was definitely not worth it. I came here with a group of four at around 8pm so it definitely wasn't peak hour. We waited 40 mins until we asked the waiter if our food was ready. It was then she came out with half the dishes (chicken pad thai) My boyfriend and his friend had to wait over an hour for their food to come out. When we asked the waiter when their food was coming, she eventually said that there were alot of orders in front of us as there was a big party that kept changing their orders so our orders were delayed. Although the staff was apologetic, we felt like they should at least told us about the delay. It was a disappointing experience.

Like most other Thai restaurants, Manee has really good service. The Pad Thai here is really close to the authentic one as it has that 'just right' balance of sweet and sour flavour which is a bonus for me. It also has a tiny bit of glossy texture and a little more towards the sour side which the authentic pad thai has. The Lamb Shank and Combination Entree were also good, but it didn't top the Pad Thai for me. Even though the lamb shank had a good salty taste to it, the meat at the end was a little bit hard to chew.

For the dessert that my sister loved, it was Banana Split. Not only was the serving size big, it also didn't make us sick as we kept eating because it wasn't very very sweet - their quantity of the caramel sauce and whipped cream on top was just right. Thankfully, every dish was served hot and of large quantity and the price isn't that expensive.

Taste - 8.5/10
Size - 9/10
Price - 7/10
Service - 9/10

A bit disappointed.. we had to wait to order, for our entree and then for the main. Overall we spent more time waiting than eating. This was frustrating and made the meal less enjoyable when it finally came out. But the restaurant itself is beautiful and the food was really nice. Just be prepared to wait...

Came here with my friends tonight and the food was delicious!!! It would be one of the yummest Thai places I have been to!! Was also good value for money for how yum it was :) The staff were super lovely and awesome and the restaurant itself was really nice :) really loved eating here :)

Late work, didn't have time to get groceries and cook. Decided to go for UberEats and felt an inner urge for Thai food, ordered the Tom Yum, Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew and without a doubt 3/3 meals came perfectly cooked. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! 5/5 can highly recommend and will most definitely be ordering from here again!

We enjoy coming here on a regular basis as we enjoy the relaxed ambience and wonderfully polite staff. This is a BYO restaurant. and it is lovely to be able to relax with a nice bottle of wine. We find the food is very well prepared and presented. We've never had a bad experience coming to this restaurant and would definitely consider it for a group booking as it has plenty of space for groups.

Went with a large group, got told we needed to do set menu which was all good. But food was average compared to when we came for a normal dinner. Also the last few people to pay got told there were people who didn't pay for their share and left and also the "remaining corkages and sparkling water". Left with a sour taste.

I love Thai food and tried it in many places, according to me this place has the best Thai food in Auckland. I had never been disappointed eating here. They also have lunch specials. Service is quick, ambience is good, lovely people who runs the restaurant. I go here every Sunday. Chicken with chilli basil and chicken with cashew nuts are my fav.
Mandy C
Great classic thai restaurant. We have been here a few times for work functions (cater for over 15 people). Service was always quick and prompt even though we've had big groups of us. Food remains me of food in thailand. Authentic, spicy and delicious! BYO is a bonus YES with corkage fee only $2.

My partner and I went to Manee Thai today. I ordered prawn on a curry sauce (#49) and he ordered a whole fried fish (#40). Within 2 minutes, we both knew we would return to this restaurant.
The curry was the best I've ever had! spicy, but not impossible to eat, tasteful with a generous amount of prawns (which I was very surprised). My partner's fish was equally wonderful.
And the staff service was great! Food came very quickly
Thanks Manee's staff, you guys were wonderful. We will definitely come back asap!

Pad Thai and Beef Cashews are my favorite. Everything I tried so far is all very tasty. Quiet, spacious and relaxing place. Take away menu is cheaper.

I located in Balmoral. This restaurant actually doesn't know what they serving. Guys you should choose your kitchen Thai, Mediterranean or European???????

Prices are totally ripped off. Better just cross to road and grab some takeaways!!!!!

Hard to give order and hard to receive order! Nobody can wait for noodles 20 mins.
Christina Kloeten
I live nearby Manee Thai and go there regularly. I used to live in Thailand so I am impressed by the authentic taste of Manee’s dishes. The portion sizes are very generous, the service is good, and the interior is lovely and spacious. It looks like a really expensive place from the outside but actually the meals are very reasonably priced. I went there recently with a large group for a party and everyone was very happy with their meals. I’m very surprised by some of the negative reviews on here because I’m yet to have a bad experience there.

Love the place, people and the food!
I only do dinner takeaway, they are so quick it is brilliant, fresh tasty meals.
My fav is the Larb no.35, chicken mince, and better still that now I know the difference, Namtok, same number and ingredients but chicken pieces...this is even better for me, so fine.
Also Pad Med Mamuang no.31, I like the tofu option, oh so good...plenty of flavor, tofu, cashews, and veges it is so delicious.
Really good value for money, I hope others will share the same consistently good food and hospitality.
Love Love Love

I am looking for a Christmas party venue for my work. We went to Manee Thai. The waitress advised us about their portion size which is fairly large and 2 dishes will be sufficient for 3 people. Being a vegetarian we ordered 2 dishes with Tofu. When the food arrived we tasted the Tofu which was off. We advised the waitress. She took the one dish. 5 mins later another lady which appeared to be the manager came back to us and agreed that when she tried Tofu it seemed to be sour and she was not sure why. She advised that the Tofu is not expired, however; they are using this particular brand of tofu for the first time. She could not offer us any dish with Tofu as there is no other kind of tofu apart from what we had. However, she offered a dish without tofu. I advised her that been vegetarian Tofu is the only source of protein in the meal; she could not give us any other alternative. We did not want to create any scene so we agreed to have the dish without Tofu. She was reluctant to take the second dish back but she did take it back. When she arrived with the new dishes, we requested to give us fresh plates. She did not like this request but she did go back and brought out only 1 plate.

Once we went to pay, they charged us full price. I said to the waitress that the dishes were not up to standard, tofu was off and that the second time the missing ingredient was Tofu from the dishes. They are charging us full price, the waitress checked with another staff and offered 15% off. As we paid, the manager came back running to the counter and told us the tofu was not off and we have to pay the full price. I was trying their food for my Office Christmas Party but we will never go back there. She said that is fine. I paid the remaining 15% and told her social media is very strong. She said that she does not care, “Good night”. We then parted from the restaurant. What an unpleasant appalling experience that we had to go through.

Ambiance - 4.5/5
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 4.5/5

I got the red curry as I was craving a coconut flavor and it was delicious. My friend ordered fried egg noodles (i think, it was #4 on the lunch menu). Everything was lovely. We come here often for lunch as it has a good parking spot and great deals, lunch under 15$ :)
We will definitely go back again.

Enjoyed it. Prices matched the food you were getting. Good flavours, perfect servings and service was awesome. Will go again.

As a resident of the Dominion Road/Balmoral area I'm used to being spoilt for choice especially with Asian takeaways like Spicy House. Unlike the other establishments around, Manee Thai is my go to especially if I want to sit down and enjoy the nice vibes and authentic Thai ambience.

I went in yesterday when they were busier than most days (Mother's day). I was seated exactly where I wanted and immediately was bought a bottle of water along with the menu's. I ordered the Scotch fillet(Must try if you love steak and the mashed potatoes are amazing), while my mother got the Pad Thai(Large portions with lots of meat). She loved it!! Our order took slightly longer than usual due to the place being so crowded on this particular day, but the 15% discount on the whole meal to apologize more than made up for it.

5/5 recommend this place, would eat again.

Horrible !!!!!! Food, services are very bad,, slow and nothing good.. They let us waited for ages without even any water.. Until we asked water, and obviously the waitress, they stand up at the back do nothing. Why just not come to the cust and approaching whether we are need something. Very horrible!!!!!
Karen
The worst restaurant with worsted service I ever got. No customer service, ignored the customers even not approached us.. So horrible restaurant. Well .. Of course I wouldn't recommend to go to this place. Sorry but that's true.. And I went to Zap restaurant, very amazing quick, good service absolutely fantastic. Manee was very worst, not professional at all !!!!!!
