Review Hunan Restaurant - Mount Eden

On my two visits to this restaurant , i have tried sliced pork belly and spicy pork . Also the spicy sliced beef. I would say the dishes are spicy but not over spicy. They all taste really good with wok hei over the spicy pork and the sliced pork belly cut is tender and well marinated. The spicy beef chii oil is so tasty. They are one one the best hunan dish we have ever tried. The price is reasonable as well.

Full of mouth favourite. great special china Changsha Cuisines . Good level of serivce. Just a-bit salted side. Definitely need to match with rice . Recommended for people who love spicy and Chinese food

Ive been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and was recommended to this place by my mum. I can honestly say it is now probably one of my favourites places to go to. Food was excellent and service was friendly and efficient. You have to order the fried duck, really tasty.

This is infact one of our favourite restaurant. Have been here several times, usually for dinner. It was just a simple restaurant but pleasant and spacious. Service was friendly. Food was tasty. Our group like the dishes. Will definitely revisit the restaurant again.

Most authentic HuNan style dishes in Auckland. Great taste and inexpensive. Highly recommend.

This inconspicuous little number in Mt Eden specialises in the Hunan cuisine, so you'll notice a lot of braised, stewed or pot-roasted dishes on the menu. The woman serving us didn't speak a word of English but was extremely accommodating. She missed out half of our order (I'll attribute that to the language barrier) but the rest of the food we were served was flavourful and cooked beautifully. They say smiles go a long way, and although we couldn't understand eachother - she was never without one. The restaurant itself could do with a little dusting but otherwise it was an interesting lunch. 3☆
