Review Churlys - Mount Eden

Come on Auckland! You guys need to come and support this great business! The beers are off the chart and the food is fantastic! I love a hazy IPA, each one was unique and delicious! There are over 30 different beers to choose from! The food was really good. I highly recommend the crispy butchers bites, the deep fried gherkins, the Korean cauliflower and the ChurBurger! That ChurBurger was……chur!! Bloody delicious!!! Not a big fan of shoestring fries (I like the proper chunky fries) but overall, fantastic beer and food…I highly recommend!

Big fan of Churly's. If you love Behemoth then you will love it here. Plenty of beer options, and different sort of beers to suit anyone's taste. Is quite hazy leaning, but so is Behemoth. The steaks are amazing and well worth the money. Even the "cheaper" T-bone steak was great.

Great place. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks and the staff. Very professional outfit. They do all things well. They're are extremely professional and look after their patrons. We had our work xmas night here, eveyone had something good to say. Great finger food all night, huge range of drinks to choose from. The only improvement would be to allow the smokers areas to have alc. That is a bit annoying and realistically needs to be looked at. Over all, I would highly recommend this place.

Really like this place for the beer, food and excellent service. It doesn't have much ambience and is on the pricey side but I'd definitely go back. Burger was amazing.

This place is amazing, the selection of beers and drinks, yummy food, service and atmosphere all are great. A cool place to catch up with friends, it's trendy and cool. More people need to support these amazing businesses. The crispy butcher bites were my fav. Soooo delish

I was looking for a relaxed place with a good choice of beers to try, and a good selection of food. Found Churley's on line, and it was close. With 25 beers on tap, I had the 'Murica APA and the New Zealander IIPA. Preferred the IIPA.. Settled for the tapas menu rather than the big meals and was very happy.. With 23 more taps to try, I'll need to come up from Matangi again.. They're rated 10th best brewery in NZ on the UNTAPPD app. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff. Thanks guys..

We lodged at an Airbnb located just across the street and frequented this place a few times for dinner and drinks. Their Juicy NEIPA is simply irresistible!

Probably my favourite NZ brewer and now they have an Auckland outpost where there are around 20 beers on tap and some rather tasty food options. I opted for the tasting paddle to sample a few of the brews on offer. My favourite was the Behemoth Stay-cation Hazy IPA, which was so juicy. The taps change regularly and Behemoth frequently creates new beers, so each visit is a taste adventure. This was our first visit after the full kitchen opened and I was eager to test the menu. Partnership with A Lady Butcher means this is a great place for meat-lovers. I chose the roast beef sandwich, which was so good. My husband had order envy. His burger was good, but apparently needed seasoning. We didn’t realise the meals came with fries so ordered tater tots as well. They the best with creamy potato filling and a slight bite. We’ll be back to continue working our way through the 20 taps and trying the new options.

Super knowledgeable team that are happy to walk you through and provide a great time tasting beers for anyone new trying craftier beers. Food is also absolutely amazing both in presentation and taste! Events are busy and fun.

Loved it: friendly staff, great beer selections (of course) and the taster panels that you can pick out yourself are great value. The place was really tidy when we visited on a Saturday night. Overall very happy with the visit.

$65 for a delicious set menu for 2 on Good Friday?! Unbeatable value! Giant range of delicious beer and great staff. Keep up the great work, team! 🍻

This place is a delight! Service is fabulous, love the decorations and the beer is amazing. Parking is the only issue which isn’t in their control. Kids food is awesome just a shame they were out of pasta for the spaghetti.

Been a big fan of Behemoth for a while now so was excited to try out the new pub. 24 of their own beers on tap, and even more available as cans. Some real heavy hitters and delicious hop heavy IPAs. There is only 1 beer under 5%, so maybe not a great place to be the designated driver. The menu looked great, heavily influenced by The Lady Butcher, and all the food we had was fantastic. We will be back!

Alright, here we go. Just left Churly’s happy and satisfied. If you look at my reviews from other places, you’ll probably notice a pattern... only 5 star ones and the occasional 4 star (which still is absolutely worth a visit). In other words, I only extremely rarely slag a place off and only post a review if I like it. Which brings me back to the topic. 5 stars for Churly’s after my first visit. The menu fits on two small pages, but this is actually really positive. I’d rather have only a few choices, but really good ones. And I promise, just reading the menu will make your mouth water. What you see in the photo is some unusual but very tasty “Katsu style” Wagyu beef with potato wedges in the background. If you like Wagyu, I highly recommend you try it. We gave a few different beers a go and none of them disappointed. My favourite of the evening was the “Lid Ripper” of which I took a 2 litre bottle away for office beer-o’clock tomorrow (a Friday). Conclusion... super nice staff, nice location, indoor and covered outdoor seating, great product. A sure recipe for “I’ll visit again”. Update #1 (after 22/04/21 visit): I‘ll keep this one brief... great atmosphere again, more delicious beers and we were amazed by the food (sorry, forgot to take pictures). Tacos, pork with fermented blueberries, the croquettes, gnocchis and the empanadas. Sooo good! 😋 Thanks Team Churly’s!

LOVE coming to Churly's. The staff are so kind and welcoming, the beer is incredible and the food is out of this world. The staff gave us a gift of some rosemary almonds which was such a kind gesture. I hope these guys are around for a while because we love coming here and plan to make it our regular. Great spot for the whole family.
