Review Whau Cafe - Mount Eden

Nancy Lan Watkinson
This was a beautiful cafe to catchup with friends or spend time with family. Recently renovated and rebranded. Only cabinet food was available, and there was an extensive list of beverages to select from. I tried the gluten free Orange Almond Cake and it was very tasty. The interior was very spacious, and high chairs were available for my friend's baby. There were plenty of parking by the cafe on a Monday morning, you just need to drive up towards the entrance to see the parking.

A good cafe at Mount Eden. Coffee are good, cakes are delicious. Staff are nice and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seats.

Truly lovely (and unexpected) place to grab some good Allpress coffee at the top of Mount Eden. They offer oat and soy milk, and even have a few vegan lunch items. After having been renovated last year, this is a must-stop for a relaxing coffee/bite.

Good spot for a snack or coffee. Great views. This place is about half way up if your walking to the top of the hill.

I lost my wallet on Saturday, 8-4-23, had no idea where it was until one of the girls here Keira, at the cafe found me on FB thru my driving licence, luckily my FB post has my mug shot on it, so today I popped in and picked it up. I really appreciated the service and the honesty, refreshes my faith in people. Thanks for that. I had a really nice coffee and something to eat while it was raining, looking out at the view then left. FYI, there are keys and umbrella's here as well in case you might have lost something nearby.

An clam and peaceful place tucked opposite to the Public Toilets. View is amazing and the food and coffee is awesome. The ice cream is great. Staff is very polite and respectful. Good place to come after a walk up to the summit. Indoor and outdoor seating available at the venue.

After a nice walk around Mt Eden, it’s nice to stop for a donut and a flat white on the weekends. This spot is just perfect and you still feel like your on the walk in some sense. Food was on point service was quick. Sterling Arnet Kakapo Business Sales

A Great break! After a short climb up to the peak of Mt. Eden, we were glad to have found this wonderful cafe and ice cream. I was really impressed by hospitality of the MD and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. As they are quite new, the facilities are well kept and hopefully it maintains that way. This is also an ideal place to find out about the Aussie origin and culture.

Loved the space and interior. Great black and cold brew coffee.Table service was great. Not many cabinet food options, menu looked refreshing but they missed and took some wrong orders. I would come back for the view, coffee and ice cream. Parking space available.

My new fave cafe with amazing modern Maori Kai. The building is the old Kiosk built in 1925 and the cafe has added to the charm. Enjoy coffee or lunch with a fab view of the city and don’t forget to walk to the top of Maungawhau Mt Eden. The little info centre in the cafe is a treasure.

Very nice cafe with bush setting surrounding…best barista here made cinnamon on flat white coffee as requested… enjoying the late lunch and discovering the local volcano museum on site as well but only open certain days of the week 😇🐈

I loved everything about this café! The food was absolutely delicious, with great vegan and regular options which is always a difficult combo to find. The parāoa parai was out of this world and the scenery was so special. Perfect café for the maunga 🤍✨

Cute little cafe and Ice cream shop very close to Mt Eden summit, just above the car parking area. We love the real fruit ice creams a Whau, though it is bit expensive ( $8.00 for one scoop) one star less!
