I love it! A friendly waitress. The food was very delicious 🤤 a mix of flavour, bittersweet. Beautiful environment. I definitely recommend this place!

Very good Thai food. Staff are friendly and efficient, set in a cosy atmosphere. Best Thai in Mount Maunganui.

Delicious food, top service, value for money. Highly recommended!

Best Thai I've had in Tauranga! We had curry puffs, chicken skewers, yellow curry, pad Thai, Chilli Basil Chicken and prawns, and deep fried banana and everything was delicious.
Leanne Flanders
Food is always great here, I have visited numerous times with different friends and everyone always loves their meal. It can get quite noisey as is pretty small, but that doesn't stop me coming back.... just delicious!

Every time we get food from Thai2Go we are amazed at how good the food is! I’ve been to Thailand several times and the food at Thai2Go is easily the most authentic I have had in New Zealand. The chefs clearly know what they are doing and every other Thai restaurant is bland and tasteless in comparison. The servings are always generous and the food is so good we always buy enough to be reheated for the next night too. Thai2Go is by no means local for us but it is worth the travel or the delivery charge every time. The Satay Stir Fry is incredible!!!!

Mothers Day dinner with the family Food came quickly to the table. So fresh and delicious! Mine was the Seafood Combination..perfect balance of Thai flavours

My partner and i get uber eats from these guys way too much even though their more expensive than most. Chef consistently on point 🫡.
Sheryn
Food was good. Surprised the roadt duck was battered, but it tasted good.

Fantastic food, great tasting and enjoyable atmosphere

We had been recommended to try this restaurant and were not disappointed. Service, food and atmosphere just the best experience. We will of course go again.

My wife's 50th Birthday the restaurant is used by her company and is well respected, there were 5 of us all with verying tastes, I have particularly sensitive digestion so had a mild cashew stirfry, scrummy, all were well satisfied and would go again at the drop of a hat. A well recommended meal.

Good service, we arrive super late but all the staff were polite and very attentive. Food 10/10
Ann Thomas
Really tasty Thai food! Service was super quick. Will definitely go back.

Amazing thai food that's reasonably priced and delicious! We had the curry puffs, Veggie pad thai and veggie sweet and sour! Would reccomend for vegetarians as there are so many options!

I own this restaurant with my Thai partner. The information is so out of date !! Please dont use Zomato. Go to our website or Google or Trip Advisor..

Came here for lunch while on a road trip with a few of my friends. I ordered their beef Panang Curry which was $18.50. This was slightly on the pricier side but we stayed anyway. The wait staff service was good. The food all came almost at the same time and was very well cooked and the curry portion was decent. The taste was good also. However they did not give a lot of rice and on top of that, extra rice was $2.50 per bowl which I feel IS quite pricey. I mean, if they are going to charge $18.50 for a lunch curry, they should have provided one free rice refill or charge extra rice at around $1 to $1.50 which honestly I would have gotten. Overall the lunch was good, I was not disappointed.

Taste - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Price - 3/5
Alas
The wait staff are great. Its just a pity that they are let down by the number of cooks. To cater for a high demand takeaway orders and full dinning restaurant is tough if you only have what seem like 2 cooks. Should double it what ever the number is. We waited for an 1hour 15min. The price is reasonable and great atmosphere. Around $50 - $60 for two people. Service is good.

I visited this restaurant on a friend’s advice and I’m so glad I did! It is perhaps the best Thai food I have ever tasted! The service is friendly and accommodating, the prices are reasonable and it allows BYO (wines).
So, if you are in the Mount, it is worth a visit!

Found this little place by chance while driving past and stopped in for dinner. Decor is lovely and the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Unfortunately the food let these guys down. It was cooked well and tasted nice with the use of fresh ingredients but was not authentic at all. There was no taste of fish sauce, coriander or palm sugar which I was expecting. Sorry guys

Went there three days ago. Had a bad headache (from concussion). Was sat next to the window. Due to the sun and glare the waitress pulled the blinds down when I explained. Twice we were approached by a guy working there to lift the blinds up. Once again I explained about my headache but was told 'the restaurant is too dark with the blinds down' He was rude and arrogant and lacked any customer service. The food seemed to be mass produced, was tasteless and the chicken I had was minimal and tough. This place was recommended - well we wont be going back and will not be advising anyone to eat there. The waitresses were friendly and efficient though. The restaurant had a feel of 'hurry up and eat up' The guy fluffing around didn't help the atmosphere.

Ordered takeaways from this Thai place on a Sunday. Was super quick and the lady was very lovely. The food was pretty good, could of been a bit more flavorsome, price was average and food portions were pretty decent .
Ahmad Al
Food was a bit tasteless, needed more flavours to the dish. Other pad Thais I had tried were a lot more authentic. Service was good. Portion size is decent too.

Went to your restaurant on Thursday with my partner for a birthday dinner. Was greeted very friendly as we came in the door, service was fantastic, and the food was even better. We both found our limit with spiciness, being the Thai hot. I have already recommended this restaurant to a few people, and will definitely be back again. The waiter was very polite with excellent customer service skills A++ from me

This place is the cleanest takeaway you have ever seen in NZ.

The staff are super friendly and the food is cooked so quick that by the time I had paid it was ready.

The food was of an excellent quality. They included lots of fresh vegetables.

It was a little on the pricey side but we will definitely go back.

I agree with the reviews below that state the owner is fantastic - a true gentleman, as is with his entire staff. We came here whilst on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our meals. My Massaman Curry was the best I have ever had, here in NZ or overseas. Absolutely fantastic, really good pricing and would absolutely recommend.

The man that owns this restaurant is a gentleman, he is the perfect person for hospitality. I will always return here out of loyalty no matter if the food is good or bad (it's delicious...!). If you want Thai food in Mount Maunganui this is the place for you. Oh and it's BYO!

Booked as it was Easter and we were party of six - unlike another place I tried to book at, Thai 2 Go replied immediately and indicated they looked forward to meeting us! Fantastic response! Food was great and service excellent even when one of our party had a reluctant cork in his bottle of wine! Will definitely return. One thing for another time - 2 of us were Gold Card holders but we weren't informed we could have got a discount and were unaware of this. Otherwise great experience.

Great food, and excellent service.

We went for a byo and sat in the outdoor area out the back. It was a little chilly out there so the owner kept asking if we needed heaters etc which was really nice. We were also given an ice bucket for our champagne without asking for one.

The food was amazing and we stayed until closing but they didn't mind at all. Definitely go back again.
Pat
The previous reviews are correct. Excellent meal and great service.great welcoming atmosphere, considering we didn't have a booking. Very obliging
Jorge Anaya
Good service and good Thai food. A bit crowed but good atmosphere.
Neil N
Great meals. Very good service, excellent waiter sorted a "hot" pad thai not on the menu for me. Very busy holiday evening but still great personal service. The restaurant name worried me that it might be a takeaway in disguise? But no! It's a very very good, well-patronized thai restaurant, and very enjoyable on the outskirts of Mount Maunganui. Lovely, shame I am from Auckland so it can't be my local! Recommended.

Had a beautiful meal on Xmas Eve, the food was easily the best Thai food we have had in Tauranga and the service was excellent . Also it would have to be one of the cleanest restaurants we have been to, absolutely spotless. Great decor, nice change from the usual Thai colour schemes. Will definitely spread the word about this great eatery. Thank you.

Booked by phone for Friday 20 December, the restaurant was full so were offered a table in the courtyard, we accepted. Less than 5 minutes later, the owner rang back saying the chairs were higher bar stools so if we had someone young or old in the party, they would need to take care. I suggested our bar stools with backs and he said we were more than welcome to take one for the 86 Year old. On arrival at 6 pm the group was then given the option of eating in the main part of the restaurant at lower tables. The is excellent customer service. To add to it, the food was superb. Thank you.

DELICIOUS!!!
We love Thai!!!! And Thai 2 Go is Outstanding!!!
Being from Auckland and frequent visitors to 'The Mount', we were very Excited to find a lovely Thai Restaurant 'away' from the main street and shopping areas!
Decor was modern and a little 'edgy' - So Refreshing!!!
Food was hot, fresh, fast and delicious!!! We loved the Tom Yum Prawns!!!
Service was Awesome!!! Thanks for making us feel So Welcome!!! We will be back for sure!!!
Wish there were 'rides' on your Tuk Tuk tho - maybe as a unique 'Taxi' service for diners??? Ciao for now :)

Wow, fantastic flavours and service! We will definitely be back!

All three dishes we ordered were delicious, and served really quickly, which was great as we were hungry and were dining with a toddler.

I would highly recommend Thai 2 Go.

Thanks.
Elley
Thanks for a wonderful meal and for making us feel so welcome with our toddler. As always the food was delicious and the warm, friendly staff were very attentive. We normally take out but will definitely will be back to dine in again.

This restaurant is a must-go if you love good Thai food, great service and a warm ambiance. The Red Curry duck is the best I've ever tasted. This place is buzzing but the head waiter, Jaggi has everything under control. Phil, the owner is friendly and welcoming. We usually eat early and often before going to the movies. The service and food delivery is efficient and reliably gets us through in time. The Take Away is just as good and on the night we were there appeared to be very popular.
Mayleen Tukaokao
My absolute favourite Thai restaurant. Jaggi my absolute most favourite waiter. You should be very very proud of him. I love Thai food and the only Thai I have had that is better is that made by my very good Thai friend. She gets a better rating because her dinners are free lol. I have had the dine in experience for lunch and dinner bringing a different friend each time. I took my brother and his wife and they had never had Thai before. Now they are in love with it. I have had takeaways too and everytime its been PERFECT. NOW you have joined Dial a meal I can have it any time I like. Saves me a walk as well. 10 out of 10 from me.

Recently dined out at Thai 2 Go. Very busy Saturday night and new chef so there was a long wait for the food but staff were fabulous and kept us informed - food was exquisite- well worth the wait!
Dave
They closed their shop for almost a month to re-do their maths and re-opened with an increase in pricing of their meals and less quality. Not a smart decision. Chicken and cashew stir fry just not it used to be. What have they done to their chicken???
Shar Ellis
Brilliant !! Great selection, budget friendly, attentive service.
Only but, if you order an entee and soup you need to tell them not to bring them at the same time, and the soup only comes in exta mild.

Wow, what a fantastic restaurant! What attracted me to it while driving past was their catch phrase - Same, same but different! We loved the interior design and though not a large restaurant it is large enough to be interesting but still has that small intimate feel. The food is to die for and not expensive. (ask for the bananas in coconut milk, it was delicious) The staff are very friendly and so attentive. Jaggi (waiter extraordinaire) you are a star! You manage to work that restaurant on your own while making every diner feel special and welcome, together with a fun sense of humour. You turned our dinner out into an experience to remember and we can't wait to return. We are telling all our friends about the best restaurant in town. It's probably best to book, I don't think there was a table empty the Saturday we were there

This is the second time we have been back to Thai 2 go and have been blown away every time. The food is the best Thai I have had, the service is impeccable, atmosphere is perfect and price is spot on. The wait staff are so attentive from the moment we sit down. We have a 3 year old and a 10 month old, and both times they have been amazing with the kids. I can't recommend this place enough ;)

We dined at this restaurant on my dad's 74th birthday in Feb 13, a weekday. We found the atmosphere very pleasant & the food pleasant. We were blown away by the birthday dessert offer that my dad rec'd. He rec'd the dessert with a special 'Happy Birthday' greeting written in chocolate sauce. That was special as other places offer you a slice of cake with a candle. Jag who was serving alone was very diligent. I found his table manners, to be almost equivalent to a 'Master Chef's' restaurant in Akl. Which isn't bad. We would go back here & would gladly recommend to anyone to give this place a go! Enjoy!

Ordered Takeaway and was told it would take 15mins.
Showed up 15mins later to collect my 2 chicken cashew stir fry's and fried rice.
The taste for both dishes were spot on and really tasty, they weren't like those bland dishes you sometimes get.
Me and my partner enjoyed our meals 100%!
Thanks so much for an amazing meal, we will definitely be returning.

Great meal with our 3 kids! Be warned - you will need to book. We arrived about 7 on Friday night and it was chocka, small space for diners. We got a table outside at the back but almost inside which was great.

The food was delicious - almost like being back in Thailand. Had the Tom Kah Goong to start, fragrant with 6 prawns each - could have been a bit hotter but we hadn't specified heat. We had asked for some fried rice for kids at same time as our soups and then starters for them to come with our mains, and they happily obliged and got it all right! Kids enjoyed fried rice and then spring rolls and chicken satay, and we had duck curry and larb gai. There was plenty for the two of us without feeling sick. (actually I may have gorged a little on the Larb...)

Managed to squeeze in a dessert - the deepfried bananas were laying on a thai beach-tastic, and the affrigato was my indulgent end to the meal.
Lovely people dining out the back (who impromptu sang me 'Happy Birthday'), and friendly efficient waiter - Jack who gave me a birthday drink!

We'll be back. Soon I hope! Almost the best Thai food I have eaten in NZ (beaten by a whisker by Tippanrost Thai in Auckland) and hands down the best I've had in the Bay!

This place has become a great addition to the area. Great Thai food with very attentive service. Well done, we look forward to our return visits.
Cheryl
Very slow service. One waiter working so hard to service entire restaurant on his own. Takeaway clients being served with their food to take out 10 minutes after ordering, while our wait was an hour.
Portions small - still hungry after 2 courses.
Front of House manager quite abrupt - could not understand why we had any cause for complaint, no apologies or offer of even a coffee on the house. Owners stood there smiling - nice....
Holly
Had takeaway for Valentines Day only to get home and find what we ordered off the menu was far from what we received. The Prawn Pad Thai was 3 prawns with what tasted like two minute noodles. And the Thai green curry was full of vegies that weren't stated on the menu with very little taste. The entree which was a combination very disappointing. Will never eat here again and will not be recommending it to anyone.
Nicola Shaw
Was an excellent place to eat - great service and we all really enjoyed the yummy food. Pat was quick to get back to us when we placed our booking via menu mania. We really enjoyed our night at Thai 2 Go and we will definitely be back again soon!

Everything is perfect!
Will be other people like me, who like it as well.
Pad Thai and Tom yum soup is lovely ~ Make hot for Korean.
Regularly visited that place! I will never forget this place.

Kindness, taste, nice people.
I will miss this food when I leave Tauranga.

Beautiful food, good atmosphere and great service. Not in the main shopping/restaurant part of Mount Maunganui, but definitely worth going off the beaten track to check it out. Went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was about 3/4 full so probably a good idea to book!
Ben Stevens
Best Thai ever, love the coconut pawns and the yellow fish curry was a perfect mix of spice and heat. All washed down with a nice cold Thai Singa Beer, even got a ride in the Tuk Tuk. Had to go back and grab a cheeky take away the food was that good.
Amanda Stevens
Soooooo good! We have been there the last two nights in a row and the food is delicious. We tried lots of the dishes and our big favs were coconut prawns, chicken larb gai (really fresh and heaps of flavour) and the curries. Drinks were a pretty good price too. Thanks Jaggi, great service! We will be back on our next holiday.

Don't be fooled by the exterior this is not another basic Thai restaurant/takeaway. This place is awesome, extremely tasteful decor, a nice ambience and very friendly attentive staff. The food is fabulous and arrived at our table piping hot (I hate the lukewarm food you get in most restaurants) I can honestly say (and I speak for my other half) it was the best Thai food we have eaten in ages and we cannot wait to go back for more, it was very reasonably priced too. They now also have a licence with a good range of drinks on offer. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
Jah
Very amazing food! Highly recommended and the prices are very affordable. Staff are awesome and the food is as authentic as you can get it! I take clients here all the time and they love it! If your ever in the mount, stop in and you won't be disappointed.

We love Thai 2 Go so much that we have been eating there on a weekly basis (in fact twice this week!). The food is amazing - the best Thai food we have eaten, and the service is of an international standard. It's so lovely to have such good food at such a reasonable price - and they are BYO - what more could we want.
Elizabeth Gawler
Very accessible Thai Restaurant (and Takeaways), BYO, situated in the Central Parade Shops. A comfortable restaurant, made moreso by the divided off/screened dining areas making for easy conversation. Pleasant relaxing decor, welcoming and attentive wait staff, an interesting menu, and our meals delivered to 7 of us in a timely manner. Everyone very happy with their meals. The coconut prawns are just perfect. We were seated quite close to the kitchen access area but were totally unaware of kitchen activity. Looking forward to going back and enjoying the outdoor seating area.
