Pretty good food, slightly pricy but so is any other small cafe in a small town. Great place for the whole family :)

My boyfriend and I went on a date night here for dinner, customer service was incredible! Prices were very reasonable and cheap! My boyfriend ordered a medium rare scotch fillet stake with fries and a salad and he enjoyed it very much! I ordered the Kahuna burger which was yum but the chicken tenders were too thick with batter and made it very hard to eat the burger I recommend instead of putting battered chicken tenders on the burger put crumbed chicken tenders on the burger that way it’ll be easier to eat and won’t be so filling that quick, the fries were cooked to perfection and I lived that when we rung breakers to book a table for the two of us they placed us next to the fire place! I would definitely come to eat here again hoping that they have made some slight changes to the Kahuna burger.

We took the grandkids. Food was great, salad was fresh, and service was exceptional. Left a small tip. Would go again very soon. Great value for money. Chef did a great job. Thanks.

Pretty epic for kids, great atmosphere. Foods pub quality but prices reflect that. If you are hungry and have kids you can't go wrong.

Disappointing customer service, food served scattered, had to ask six times for missing items e.g sides of eggs and missing deserts. Food very average, service unfriendly. Would not recommend this place. Saturday 5th May 2018 @ 5pm

DINNER WITH FRIEND AND 2 KIDS JUNE 2017 - very very very disappointed that after her arrival, and being told my staff that kids dine free with adult, because she approached the counter with the two kids, and I stayed at the table watching our purses - she was CHARGED for a kids meal. Then when I questioned the manager - she said 'its too late the orders gone to the kitchen' - pretty crappy !!! You loose 1/2 a point for that ! Kiwi Burger and Breakers Burger and a shandy. $41 dollars (I think). At least with the burgers costing more than your average place ($17 each), the patties are thick.
We found our meal very delicious, exactly what we had asked for (they came with fries too) and no problems.Would be very helpful if Breakers had the staff bring cutlery, water glasses, water bottle, tomato sauce etc to the table. I understand it is part of the charm to be able to get your own, but that leaves one with very full hands. Noticed that there are daily specials.

Ate here last night and totally regret it. Ordered the chicken strips tortilla whilst all 3 of my friends ordered the fish and chips. There is something definitely weird going on with the food. The deep fried foods (wedges, chips, and fish) all had a rather strong bitter after taste - rancid oil perhaps? And the salad was bitter as well. The chiller not cold enough? Either way the food was spoiled. I told the waitress who really wasn't equipped to deal with my complaint as she was foreign and spoke rather broken English. She went back into the kitchen with my food then came out and told me the chefs had no idea what the problem was. Hmmm yeah right... they said they would make me a new one but no thanks I just wanted a refund (didn't get one). It wasn't busy so couldn't understand why a kitchen staff member did not come out to ask what the problem was instead of sending the poor waitress back who was obviously finding it extremely difficult to communicate with me. I would only rate this 1 but because the foreign waitress was really sweet and tried her hardest to fix the problem for me I'll give the score an extra 0.5. Regardless I'm definitely not coming back

We dined here this evening with our 3 year old. It was really busy so we thought it would be good. I ordered the roast dinner which was pork and tasted really old. It was definitely below average. My husband ordered the Monster Burger which my husband also thought was below average. The worst was the Mac n cheese we ordered for our son. It was watery and dreadful and he refused to eat it. I'm all for cheap and cheerful but this is cheap and nasty. The staff are friendly enough but overworked. We wouldn't dine here again.

Went here for breakfast, good service drinks and food came fast - not much of a wait. Had eggs bene, the eggs weren't runny which was a let down and the pancakes were a bit raw in the middle, I would recommend getting the big breakfast 👊🏼

I couldn't recommend the "food" at breakers to my dog. There was what looked like a pubic hair in my sons chips which put us all off our food once we found it. The salad had rotten leaves it it. The burger was worse than one we could have bought for $2 at McDonalds but cost $13. The service was some of the worst we have ever had. When I complained about the hair and showed the girl at the counter she ask "what do you want to do about it then". I told the manager the food was gross and he rudely told me their food was not gross I must have too high expectations. All I expected really was fast food without hair and rotten lettuce. Gross food, terrible service, crappy dining. Do NOT eat there!

Went out to dinner at Breakers tonight (Friday 13/06)
Service was not great, nor did the person at the counter greet us, just an annoyed smile.
Got up to place order and ordered, garlic bread, Piha Pork Loin and a 300gm Scotch Fillet Steak and a drink came to $73 which was reasonable for what we ordered.
The best part of the night was the garlic bread. The staff weren't too friendly and wanted to carry on with whatever they were doing even though there were only approx. 5 tables in the whole restaurant. No meal checks, When meal came out Pork Loin was cold, Vegies were old and stale, you could taste the cheap cheese sauce but partner ate it because he was hungry, Steak came out with no steak knife and cooked med well verging on well done when it was asked to be cooked medium, "mash" was clearly just that cheap out of a packet s**t that tasted like tin. I mean how hard is it to make real mashed potato!!
I took my steak back saying that that's not how I wanted it cooked and that medium cooked steaks have some pink bloodiness in the centre only to get "Ill get it changed for you" no apology, complimentary drink well waiting NOTHING! The waitress then came back saying that no, I the customer was wrong and asked for it med rare but then questioned her If I asked for med rare then how come it was wayyyyyyyy over cooked, then proceeded to argue that yes the chef knew it was overcooked but medium steaks shouldn't be pink nor bloody.
Excuse me but who the hell do you think you are???
I work in a restaurant with good quality food and steaks and I know exactly how steaks should be cooked.
Waitress proceeded to just groan and walk off

When steak actually came out-this time how I asked, took nearly 10mins for a meal check and still no apology at all, Nothing. I am very unimpressed that I paid that much for the quality that I got.

Now I know why the restaurant was slow.
Atrocious service, terrible food.
No apology from management or anyone for that matter. No one even seemed interested in saying sorry or giving a refund.
We walked away unimpressed.
I will never ever go back and warn everyone off going there.
I wanted to give a zero but had to give some rating.

First time for us at Breakers, and I'm happily surprised about the food and the staff, they looked very tidy, and the meal was really nice my kids had all a nice party bag to keep them occupied and they had yummy desserts. Me and my hubby both had the steak cooked to perfection well done chef. Definitely recommend to my friends its not posh, but I found it really good for the kids and the whole family after a long day.

First time dining for me and not impressed. Ordered seafood basket on arrival one could see the grease dripping out .
The scallops were uncooked the prawns limp , only thing on the plate that was crunchy was the squid. This meal came with a limp salad .The fish was fresh but fatty .
When I showed the waiting staff I was offered four more scallops , but left before they arrived .

Had two nights in the Mount this week and decided to give Breakers a go...never again. I had the fish and chips and it was spot the fish in the batter and the slice of lemon must have been sliced the day before. .very dry. My husband had the roast of the day..2 tiny piece's of potato and the rest of the rest of the vegetables were not up to standard. I am aware these are not expensive meals but that should not detract from the meal that is served.

Went to dinner last night with my mum, and having seen the reviews on menumania. I wasn't expecting to be happy or impressed.. Especially coming from a management in hospitality, but I was.. Mum had the fish pie. Which I tried also.. And its well worth the money, delicious and creamy with lots of fish within the sauce under the creamy potato. And my meal chicken Dianne, well I loved it.. Thanks to the staff in kitchen, well done

First time dining for me as well and was not impressed. We had a family gathering on Friday night and I ordered Wiener Schnitzel which was overdone and so crisp it was like eating cardboard. Salad was a large lettuce leaf with julienne veges on the top and chips were cold. Even though we were a large crowd there was no excuse for sub standard presentation and the cost was the same as other cafes/restaurants. I sent back my meal and asked for chicken same presentation but at least the chips were hot.
Your food actually let your staff down who were pleasant and helpful and could not do enough for you.

First time dining there and it was much worse than I expected from a cheap family restaurant. Overcharged - which got sorted. Forgot garlic bread with the mussels - had to ask. 6 of the mussels were unopened, which means you shouldn't eat them! My son enjoyed his kids meal, but the 3 adults weren't impressed. Nana wasn't able to eat her chicken schnitzel because there was too much cracked pepper on it. Steak was supposed to be medium/ rare but was well done. I don't usually like to write negative reviews because they stick around longer than the customer remembers. However regret going would have had a better standard of food from a fast food chain.

We have just started going back to breakers over the last few months. We find the bar staff a great.. But after our last five meals I don't think we will go back. The roast vege's are never cooked, the fish tastes frozen and even my last breakfast was shocking, the eggs were like rubber. We haven't complained to the bar staff as they are always busy.It is a shame about the food, it is a nice place to go.

OK I guess for a Breakers Restaurant. Certainly better than from another Breakers we have been too. Good priced meals, and a reasonable choice on menu. But sometimes can be a bit mass produced tasting.

I think Breakers is more of a relaxed/casual, family type of restaurant. That's in a good way though - if you aren't too fussy about etiquette. The service is always nice, it has a great atmosphere and the the menu slightly resembles a Hawaiian-beach style surf shack cafe. Which is great for those days you aren't dressed up fancy and just want a good relaxed meal.

Dined there last night with my family. Good atmosphere with kids - there is a kids corner with coloured pencils and activity sheets which was good.

Meals were a little slow in coming tonight - and other patrons were getting a little antsy too about the slow service.

The meals were good - they are what they are - pub food really - cheap and pretty satisfying.

I had the Vegetable melt - it tasted good - although the top of the Foccacia bun was a little too charcoal burnt. The crinkle fries were good and the kids meals are very reasonable - both in price and for what you get. Will most likely dine there again.

Great food, great service and plenty of room. I especially loved the Chicken Dianne it was awesome and I cannot wait to dine there again.
