Review Fish N Chips Food Bar - Mount Maunganui

Found this little fish and chips shop by accident. Best fish and chips that I've had for a long time. Delicious fresh fish ,(and a good size fillets), and the chips were great too, (again, a decent serving size). Will go back there again next time I'm at the Mount.

Great Fish n Chip shop. Amazing, tasty, fresh, yum af. They get busy - very busy. So order via phone before you rock on up, otherwise you can be in for a bit of a wait.

I had the pleasure of enjoying some of the most delectable Fried Oysters I've ever tasted. The Snapper was incredibly fresh, complemented by a fantastic batter. The service provided was truly exceptional.

Good fish and chips, but busy, our wait time was about 1hr 20mins. The fish and chips were run of the mill, and there may have been better options that I didn't try, but personally it's not a place I'd visit again if I'm in a rush.

The best place for Fish and Chips. Lovely fresh snapper on the menu. Grab a feed and sit in Pilot Bay next to the waters edge. Can’t beat it.

Food was great but waiting time wasn't. We've been told 25 mins and waited for 40! Staff kept telling other customers that waiting time is 25 mins. The food is nice so worth waiting for - be honest when advising customers of waiting time!

We experienced a very long wait but it was worth it, beautiful fish n' chips.. it seemed like a very popular place.. Very nice people.. definitely come back and try something else on their menu.. chairs and tables available on site.. Parking could be an issue if town is busy..

We came after hiking and swimming in the area for dinner. There was a long wait (45 minutes to an hour) when we arrived around 1800, but that could be because it was a public holiday. We ordered a family meal for 5 of us. Since it was a long wait we ended up going up to the Mauao summit and heading back to pick up the order. The tables outside were full but we just headed to the park to enjoy the food. Food was nice. There was a decent amount of fish, chips and other fried goodies in the family meal.

Awesome fish and chips and other takeaways. Lovely people serving with a smile. Probably the best value around town pricewise too.

I gotta say the food was excellent. Well cooked and everything tasted just like it should. I guess my biggest issue was with the price of the egg burger. I consider $5 to be about right, $6 is a bit excessive but the actual $7.50 was over the top. Don't get me wrong, it was a great burger... And it's hard to get old fashioned burgers like that these days (take my word for it, I've been looking). That said, we are in post Covid times, cost of living is through the roof AND if inflation gets any worse, we'll all have to move to Australia. So, in that regard $7.50 doesn't seem that bad.
