Review Lola Cafe - Mount Wellington

I ordered eggs bene and a friend ordered the pancake stack. Wow, we were not disappointed, the food was delish, service was spot on. Looked like a popular spot as it was busy but the staff were friendly, accommodating and the food arrived without too much of a wait. I would recommend trying this spot for breakfast.

The blueberry pancakes were great, massive portion at a reasonable price. The stack was bigger than they looked. Would order again Nice little neighbourhood cafe, big tables and good atmosphere. Great for a weekend brunch

Came here for the pancakes and safe to say we'll be back. The staff member that served us was fantastic and super helpful. It really added to the whole experience, along with the tasty food and drinks.

Their catering service is amazing! The process was easy, all sandwiches and baking were cut in half to share. Sandwiches were even wrapped individually! Great option for our work training days. Highly recommend!

It's our first time visiting Lola cafe and it was a great experience. The place was packed on a Sunday morning but the waitress quickly found us a table. The food is great and the portions are quite big which justifies the prices. The atmosphere is wonderful although there were little kids running around and screaming. Ww will definitely be back.

Really lovely cafe. Came here for breakfast today and got the eggs benedict with bacon and a mocha. The eggs benedict was beautifully presented on top of a potato cake and large muffin topped with thick bacon and two perfectly cooked eggs. The hollaindaise sauce was ok but not my favourite. You just cant beat good old knorr sauce 😋. The staff are very lovely and provide great customer service and the cafe itself is very clean and well presented. Its also kid friendly with lots of art from the young customers proudly hung on the walls 😊. Id definitely recommend trying this place for breakfast especially if you are looking for a place to take the kiddies with you.

Really enjoyed my visit here today. Lovely staff, faultless service, and my iced latte hit all the right notes. As Arnold Schwarzenegger famously once said in The Terminator…..I’ll be back Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

First time at Lola Cafe, waited a while for the food as there was an issue with the printer but staff more than made up for it with their great service. Once our meals came out we could see why there is such hype. Team were all smiling even though they stayed open for us and we left happy with full tummies ☺️

Loved all of it 5 adults a 2 year old and 3 week old ... we all enjoyed a long brunch with great hot and cold coffee. The Pandan Coconut Milk Latte was delicious. We ordered 2 Creamy Mushroom 🍄 Meals , 2 Eggs 🥚 Benedict one with Cured Salmon, the other Bacon (both so so good), and Fish Tacos 🌮 ( Nana ordered those and absolutely 💯 loved them) and a child's Eggs (scrambled) and bacon. Each meal was generous in size, delicious, and reasonably priced. Service was quick, polite, and friendly.

Super cute interior but menu items are on the expensive side given what they are ($20+ for garlic breadsticks with saucy mushrooms on top...) the fried chicken was over done and service was slow given that it was almost empty during a usual lunchtime. I’d actually visited during opening week and was told there would be an almost hour wait when the eatery was only half full... and only got to truly sit down and eat a few months ago. The food tasted savoury and was not bad due to large amounts of cheese and bacon but you gotta notice just how simple all these dishes are... I was expecting more given the price point and my experiences with other cafes at similar prices... I’d personally opt to DIY it next time.

Finally visited after having seen their famous skillet since they opened last year! Although it was too early (9am) for the skillet, we happily settled for the [ Creamy Mushrooms ] and [ Banoffee Pancakes ] paired with [ Nitro Cold Brew ] !

What generous portions!!! There's nothing better than visiting a cafe that is not only aesthetic but serves wholesome meals that is bang for your buck!

¶ Creamy Mushrooms were absolutely delicious! Toasted baguette smothered in melted garlic butter , towered beneath thick chunky creamy mushrooms soaked with flavour! Love the touch of spinach, and definitely pairs well with a side of bacon!
¶ Banoffee Pancakes were huge too! Thick yet fluffy, 2 stacks layered with grilled banana and served with hokey pokey butter, peanut butter caramel ice cream, and whipped cream! So delicious with all the textures but not overly sweet too!!

They picked up really quickly after 9:30am, there was a queue for their cabinet goods and coffee at one point. Extremely friendly and efficient staff and beautiful interiors!
We came here on a Thursday at around lunch time. The place was less than half full. The service was great, waiters were friendly and asked us how everything was as well as always topping up our water. I got a oat milk flat white, it was amazing. However, it can be quite loud when it’s busy but the ambiance is still very nice. The food was amazing and very worth it for the price. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Came speficially for the buttermilk chicken. It was fantastic! Have tried the pastrami sandwich and vege pide from the cabinet on previous occasions and they were good too. The coffee's just right. Love the friendly owner and staff. Well done team.

Cafe is nice and tidy, menu has a American influence to it. I went with my sister. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and my sister ordered the Hawaiian chicken burger. We're not sure if it is because we haven't eaten out for so long since the lockdown but everything was very oily. I understand that we pretty much ordered all fried food but it was a bit much. There were high batter to low meat ratio to the fried chicken.

Try the vegan platter for $18. Good value and amazing food. Cashew nut hummus to die for. Staff friendly and thoughtful

.
📍 Lola Cafe
☕ Latte + Long Black
🍴 Cheese Scone
-----------------------------
Meet Lola, sister cafe of FlourMill cafe. Boasting a sitting space of around 100 people, it's probably safe to say that Lola is the bigger (though younger) of the two. There's a fun and enegetic character to Lola with retro aesthetics of neon lights and signs, together with colour palette of pastel pink, red and yellow offset by pale mint; all falling into place perfectly.
Coffee is Kokako just like its sister, and the cabinet range is.. well, let's just say magical.

Great to have a cafe in this area with such great service, lots of room to relax & a menu with unique options as well as cabinet food.
I ordered the corn fritters with bacon. The labneh was quite spicy & fritter balls worked well. Only small negative was that the greens were super salty.
Coffee was well made

The cafe is located by the McDonalds on the corner of Ellerslie-Panmure and Mount Wellington Highways. There is quite a bit of parking which is nice. The cafe is fairly large with quite a lot of tables. It did take a while for someone to greet us when we were waiting for a table.
Once seated we got menus. The items were a combination of standard cafe items like eggs Bene and more interesting ones like the Philly Cheese Steak. I had the Philly Cheese Steak but was also quite close to getting the cheese dog. We also had the corn fritters to share. I also had the chili hot chocolate.
The hot chocolate wasn't very spicy but did have fronds on top of it which made drinking it a bit of a hassle since you get a few fronds as you drink. The corn fritters were quite nice since you could actually taste the corn. Good flavour and it had a nice sauce. The cheese Steak was also quite nice but would have like a stronger cheese taste.
It was a nice cafe for food They also had cabinet food by the coffee machine too.

Ordered the fried chicken, creamy mushrooms (kindly substituted the baguette for hash browns + added salmon, of course.) and an afghan skillet cookie to boot.

Chicken was just a tad dry but generous portions of sauce and gravy. Mushrooms were

Presentation: 4/5
Portions: 4.5/5
Taste: 4/5
Service 3.5/5 (little bit slow to get refills of water etc)

We were disappointed by our visit to Lola. Things started off badly when the server brought our coffees and asked which of us had ordered the trim one. When we said they were both supposed to be trim, he said "Oh OK", put them down on the table and walked away. I guess that was our problem, then.

As for the food, my friend had the chicken and pineapple burger and it was so greasy she was unable to eat more than a few bites. As she held it in her hand, I could literally see the grease dripping out of it. I had the Philly cheese steak, and it was fine if not exciting. Overall the experience wasn't enough to make us want to return.

I came all the way from Glenfield to try the vegan Afghan Skillet cookie. It was delicious, moist, crispy. The presentation was so pretty that the family on the table next to us asked us what this item was. There is nowhere on Auckland I can get something like this and the next time I get a craving, I will definitely be back!

Ordered the vegan breakfast. Was delicious and fresh. Falafal can be heavy but this was actually just right, crispy and light. The vegan feta also had a nice tang to it.

The price is not worth it, too expensive

Amazing corn fritters and great coffee! Super friendly staff too, can’t wait to come back

After over an hour of waiting, our ordered food never came and we were avoided by the servers.
When we went to pay for our coffee and biscuit, the waitress tried to charge us for food that we never received.
The interior looks pretty but I won’t be returning.

Tried out Lola café this week after seeing it on instagram. Think it just opened up this month? Nice location, easy and accessible parking.

The food had a long wait for a weekday with not many people around the time we went. Though the wait was worth it as my meal and my mates meal was so good! She ordered eggs bene and I got the banofee pancakes. My pancakes were nice and fluffy, thick and tasted amazing with all the side toppings given. My mate enjoyed her eggs bene and especially the bounty smoothie she ordered which she demolished before the food arrived!

The menu didn’t have too many things that I was interested in, but I would deffs go again for their pancakes!

A new cafe in Mount Wellington, how exciting!
Part of the new building next to the Panmure McDonalds, parking is a breeze.

We went on the opening weekend so there was a bit of wait for the food. But the staff told us well in advance so we were happy with waiting.

The Lola's Fried chicken with criss cross fries, slaw and gravy was scrumptious and so was the Philly Cheesesteak.

The black filter and Nitro Cold brew was Kokako. Delicious also!
