Review The Commercial Cafe - Murchison

It is one of few historic building survived after big earthquake. Some high quality old pieces can be seen here. From interior design prospective, the deco style and color scheme didn’t help to lift up the valuable historic beauty better. It needs to be repainted carefully, and make more functional layout 2.

We had a quick stop here for breakfast and our experience was very good. Very quick service. Kids loved the menu. Muffins were delicious. Coffee was good as well. Staff was not the way an hospitality industry staff should be. Good for quick bites and coffee. Ample parking space around and fuel stations are there nearby.

Good place to relax and have good food I was in Murchison area for business and searched for places to have lunch. Found this place. The food and service was delightful. The tea was served in cute pottery. (Refer photos). There is plenty of seating and parking. The service was quick and courteous.

Warm and very welcoming. Coffee was really well made. Great taste. I had the fish burger, was hungry and ate it so quickly I forgot to take a picture. Oops! Was delicious. Sourdough bun was soft and everything in the burger was so fresh. Their scones (big as)and toasted sandwiches that my friends had were again good size and good quality ingredients.

I’ve gone off writing reviews etc lately in protest of social media’s general divisiveness and covid mandates. I’ll make an exception today to put in a well deserved recommendation and positive write up of the Commercial Cafe. Had the Blue Ribbon Beef Burger, with optional blue cheese and a small side of fries. Mrs B had scrambled eggs and bacon, which she said were creamy and had more bacon than she could handle. My burger was beautiful, with a juicy, tasty pattie, and fresh greens, melted cheese, relish etc - sensational! Best tasting crinkle cut fries too, with delish aioli. Fabulous service from the lovely hostess (Karla) capped off a fun and relaxing lunch break. If I lived locally, I could see myself spending far too much time here, just chilling and chatting with the locals and visitors passing through. If you’re only after a quick caffeine top up, they do a perfect brew and take much pride in their strong caffeine culture xo. Well done to the team here, and keep up the awesome work!

What a little gem! It’s perfect for young families, there is a playroom (which was the old bank vault) beautifully decorated and with a wide variety of toys and colouring in books and pens. Food is excellent, customer service excellent with great coffee.
