Review Rasoi Cuisine Of India - Napier

We had the banquet menu which was extremely tasty and filling. They had a large selection of wines avaliable. The service was reasonably friendly but lacking professionalism. It's was a small space so we had a big table in the middle of the restaurant. The best part was the large range of dishes available on the regular menu, and the cost. Very reasonably priced which compensated for everything lacking.

Fabulous Indian cuisine. Greeted and seated as soon as we arrived, food was amazing and didn't take long to come to the table. Was busy restaurant, but the service was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service team was extremely friendly and attentive.

I loved it here! The food is amazing we were in heaven for a bit. Closest to the real Indian dishes that we had outside of India. Pure ingredients, pure food and not to greasy and heavy on the stomach that you might experience in other indian restaurants. And the service was great as well such nice people! Great experience at this restaurant from the complimentary papadums, pickle and onions. Wide range of alcohol and I was happy to try the local beers. Exceptional range of dishes, which could cater to a wide audience. The chicken platter in the appetisers is a must, come sizzling on your table with various colours and tastes. Great ambiance overall. They do takeaway I am sure but it’s worthwhile reserving a table here. Parking right opposite the restaurant if you miss the entry to the lane. Staff is great and attentive as well, must visit if you enjoy Indian food.

Unbelievable aromas wafting throughout the street at Marine Parade the other day as I was playing a couple of rounds of mini golf next to the beach . The fusion of the spices & freshest ingredients is enough to lure in anyone that is hungry & ready for a great meal .

We like the stars light fixture 🌟, dark wooden furniture, and copper cutleries etc. This is probably a really good place for dinner 🍽 and even party 🥳 The food here is tasty too 😋 we really enjoyed the gluten free roti.

Great experience. Best Indian restaurant in Napier so far. Had x3 starters and shared a main between two people. Food was good quality. Loved the fact you didn't feel rushed. Nice wait between starters and mains. Lovely atmosphere, lovely vibe. Good service. Will be back.

We walked in on a Friday night and while they were fully booked, they managed to squeeze in ahead of another booking. We still had over an hour to eat which was awesome. Very nice staff. Didn't have to wait long for our food and it was amazing! Lots of vegetarian choices. We settled on the dhal and a vege korma. Good portion sizes although a wee bit more rice for two people would be great. Loved the on tap house beer. Left very happy.

Look, this has to be the best Indian in the country. And it’s also the best Indian I have had since London. All the usual white-people dishes are stunning. But if you’re keen, ask the kitchen to serve you whatever they recommend and you’ll be in heaven. The lamb chops can’t be missed. They are maybe one of my most favourite dishes in Aotearoa. You need to go here. Asap.

Definitely a step up from the average Indian restaurant in NZ. Just reading the menu was enjoyable, especially the chef's specials. Complex flavour combinations and quality ingredients, and even the more familiar comfort meals were a bit special. Very good wine selection and friendly customer service in a nicely decorated space. Will definitely be back here.

Yummy, yummy food. They sat us without a reservation which was much appreciated but we waited quite a while for our meals. The lamb shoulder was delicious- so tender. I preferred the flavoring of the korma though. The naan was nice, not the best I've ever had though. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

I know Indian cuisine from restaurants in the US, all of which feature the same two dozen dishes, all detuned to the American palate. The enormous selection here includes numerous items I had never encountered, all delicious. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

I got a takeaway curry from this place tonight - it was absolutely delicious. By far the best curry I've had in HB, maybe ever. Highly recommend.

The best Indian restaurant in New Zealand so far for me over the period of five years. While the main courses may sound usual the starters are unique and mouth watering. All the staffs are super friendly. The overall atmosphere is really good.

We went to Rasoi once on a 2 day trip to Napier. Would have definitely gone again if I had stayed there any longer. Cocktail list is great. Menu is a step up from typical Indian restaurant.. variety is just wow. We ordered dahi purees n they were the best. The Mango kulfi was a delicious nice ending to a very wonderful meal. Very creative plating too.

The food was all exceptional with a massive variety of options that simply isn't found elsewhere in NZ. Not one dish was a miss and when I make my eay back to Napier I'll be stopping in again.

Not just your average India restaurant. They have an extensive menu of delights and the friendly staff were able to recommend some great dishes. This is a small restaurant so I'd recommend making a booking ahead of time.

I first ate at Rasoi on it's opening night. It had great decor and an ambience to suit. I ordered a venison curry dish with two sides and unfortunately, what turned up was a lamb dish and no sides. The staff were trying their best, but there was a problem which was later identified as the new computerised ordering system. I must say that I don't normally eat lamb for the fat content, but this had to be the best lamb I'd ever had. Ever. They refused to charge me for any of my bill, so I went back a week later and tried a goat dish. This dish was beautifully prepared and extremely tender, reminding me of the tenderness of the Greek cleftico dishes I'd experienced in Cyprus many years ago. I enjoyed this meal immensely and all the hiccoughs with the ordering system had disappeared. If any of you reading this were affected by the first night glitches, I'd urge you to try Rasoi again as you'd truly be missing out on wonderful Indian gourmet experience. My compliments to the chef and all the staff for a particularly memorable evening.

I have had several takeaways from Rasoi, and they have all been fantastic! In my opinion this is by far the best Indian I have ever eaten. You mouth just explodes with flavour after every bite. I highly recommend.

A home away from home .. they have recreated true flavours of India in NZ... amazingly designed menu and calm ambiance... great food and excellent flavours..no to forget a great service.. Bharwa Seekh kabab as must try..:)) cheers.. keep up the great work �

Doors were opened as we entered and greeted with wonderful friendly service.. Only to be seated and presented with amazing quality and flavoursome dishes !! Can't wait to return back to Rasoi and make my way through the rest of the menu !! Highly recommend !!

My partner and I have been here a few times now. I usually get the same thing every time (butter chicken) and my partner gets something new. We absolutely love it here and would highly recommend rasoi to anyone who wants truly authentic Indian. Always a 5 star rating each visit. We will definitely be back.

To be fair, we did arrive at 6pm (after an unplanned stop in Napier). Also, to be fair, we understand that everyone is stressed with covid 19. However, that does not excuse the simply rude and nasty service we received . When walking through the door, explaining that we didn’t have a reservation as we hadn’t planned to stop in Napier, we were “greeted” with simply the rudest and nastiest person you can imagine, she was simply dreadful (the oldest of the two “ladies” at the counter). Clearly either had a seriously bad day or just a very unpleasant person. Whichever, it prompted us to decide to leave Napier and move on to a nicer town.there is no need for this sort of behaviour - a simple “I am sorry but we are fully booked” would have been fine. Instead we got “we are full, leave now” and she literally turned her back. Hopefully all this is on a videocam- will be good for the owners to see what their staff do! <br/>But, basically, the food may be good but it’s not worth the dreadful behaviour from the staff. Go else where.

We craved Indian and chose Rasoi, as it appeared to be one of the most popular restaurants in Napier. On the night of our visit, staff only just managed to squeeze us in without a booking (note it may have been busier than usual as a few nearby places were closed for the holiday season). I'm so glad they did, because the food was sensational! Curries were filling with tender meat and had the desired amount of spice. My favourite cheese naan was perfectly executed.

I’ve visited here a couple times now and the curries are amazing! Good value for money I think. The Indian is far superior to other Indian joints around town. The service could do with a tweek. It’s nicely presented inside. A great variety menu. Garlic naan amazing! Definitely will come back!

Nice place with good fit out, however I cannot say the same thing for the food that I had. Seafood soup was delicious. However, my main, the lamb chops weren't chops, they were racks, and tasted almost off that I left it without finishing it. The service was friendly but I left with 59 dollars of bill and headed to countdown to get a snack.

The lady staff was unprofessional and rude on the phone. Initially wasn't happy to recommend anything as she mentioned, "I don't have time". Anyway we ordered...staff promised delivery time 30 to 40 mins, I called after 1 hr, food was still not ready and the lady sounded rude and unapologetic and said, "As I told you the food is being prepared without realizing it has been more than an hr already". Finally food came after an hr and a half which was nothing great.<br/><br/>Overall nothing impressed.<br/><br/>Honest feedback on the staff - Customers make your restaurant great, learn how to treat them properly.

We visited this restaurant on our one day trip from Ohakune. We ordered Paneer Khatta pyaj and double tadka daal with laccha parantha. Great food and finish with pan-kulfi. Beautiful ambience and very courteous staff. Highly recommended.

I have to say that this was a flavoursome experience. We had a bad experience at an "upmarket" pretentious Indian restaurant not far off from Marine parade. <br/><br/>We had the puri chat which could not be faulted. Dal Makhani was flavoursome and rotis were soft. Service was great. Really nothing that I can fault.<br/><br/>The great thing going for them is that the chef is the owner ( my wife is a bit nosey ;) so in her discussions with the staff this became evident ).
