Review Pacifica Kaimoana Restaurant - Napier

Wow, wow, wow! Chef Jeremy, Natalie and their team were outstanding - from the time our group of 4 walked into the restaurant and for the 2.5hrs we spent dining on their 6-course degustation menu. A beautiful menu, using the finest ingredients, was innovative with every mouthful a burst of flavour & texture. We decided not to see the menu beforehand as we wanted to be surprised and this was impeccably delivered. Each course was perfectly explained on arrival to our table and we waited with anticipation on what the next course would bring. We were exceptionally well looked after all evening by the wonderful staff and we enjoyed the relaxed & comfortable ambience, especially our seating at the back of the restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Visiting from Australia and chose Pacifica for its 3 hat rating. We were certainly not disappointed! Wonderful food with flavours that always complemented the dish. We did the wine pairing as well, and all wines were perfectly matched with the corresponding dish and we got to try some wines that were different to what we had encountered before. The service was friendly but professional. The restaurant is set in a quaint little cottage that adds to the ambience. Highly recommended.

Beautiful food and atmosphere, definitely up there (if not better) than any Michelin stared restaurant I’ve been to. Cannot believe how affordable the menu was when comparing to the quality of food we ate. Wine list on point also. Thank you for a great NYE dinner!

The 6 course menu and wine pairing was absolutely excellent. Natalie ensured we had excellent wine and was a brilliant host. Would highly recommend to anyone in the region. Fresh, exciting and altogether a great night.

Thanks to the Chef Jeremy for delivering excellent quality dining experience and thanks to Natalie & Rachel for the friendly service. Everything was well explained to us without being too intrusive. Merci Beaucoup ! We'll be back soon with our parents.

I recently had the pleasure of dining, once again, at Pacifica Restaurant in Napier. It’s a true gem in the world of dining and was an outstanding culinary experience. From the very first degusation course to the last, I found I was unable to pick a favourite, as each dish was incredibly delicious. Chef Jeremy’s talent and creativity shone through every bite. Partner Nat, who expertly manages the front of house, ensured the service was impeccable, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The ambiance was lovely, creating a perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience.

Always wanted to try out Pacifica and they did not disappoint. They offer a 5 course degustation but they do have another, less seafood heavy option. We did not try the wine paring today but wine selection was plentiful. Beautiful way to showcase local ingredients, including lemonfish. The setting was quite intimate and definitely does not have a pretentious vibe. Service was excellent. Yes the portions are smaller for each but this is made up for by depth of flavour. Perhaps a longer degustation option might be good. I would happily come back again to Pacifica restaurant. Remember to book ahead

Absolutely phenomenal meal! The degustation allowed us to trust the chef completely and we really enjoyed trying new things we would never otherwise order. Every dish was spectacular, and the service made the whole experience just lovely. Worth the spend for a once in a lifetime experience.

We dined here on the night of 2nd Sept. The staff delivered attentive services and we felt welcomed and looked after. Food was a great display of local produces, exceptional value for money. We look forward to dining again when we visit Napier next time.

One of my favourite tasting menus I have had. The food made me feel good, not just feel full. You must make a reservation, we did not and were lucky that someone else was unable to make it. Everything was cooked fabulously, the wait staff were wonderful and didnt hover or linger around us.

This is by far the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time. We had the seafood degustation. Each course was amazing. There were intricate layers of delightful flavours throughout each dish. We went the matching wines and the presentation was exceptional with each dish accompanied by a beautiful NZ wine. The dish and wine were explained very well by the exceptional staff. You will be forever disappointed if you go to Napier and don't eat at Pacifica!

This was the second time I tried a set menu / fancy dining with degustation menu. The staff were very accommodating even though I arrived unbooked and late and managed to get me a seat and t he whole experience. The fine dinning experience is expensive in general. This place was doing a seafood menu and was 70$ so kind of cheaper than places. Total 100$ with the drinks. The menu as below was pretty nice and I really liked the Parmesan foam. Never had it before. Overall this place was definitely 4-4.5 and the considering seafood, it was probably worth the money. Taste was definitely 5. The staff were very attentive and I enjoyed.. However a once off experience for occasions .

A very relaxing and nice place to go for delicious and delicate meal. Great service and fantastic food. Love their seafood menu and the bluenose was a bomb. Thank you, Pacifica, for giving us the best anniversary experience. Will definitely go there again.

Fabulous all around. One of the best dining experiences I've had in NZ or otherwise. I called on Friday asking for a reservation for the following night (I pulled the birthday card), which Natalie and her team were gracious enough to grant to me and my two friends despite being fully booked. The food was delicious, not too complicated but still interesting. The service was wonderful, our waitress even brought my friend a second glass of water after she said she wasn't having wine because we had biked 43km on a winery tour all day. Thanks Pacifica!

If you are in Napier and love great food, you owe it to yourself to head to Pacifica! The food, the wine and the service is first class. The seafood here is always amazing.

Very cosy small and intimate location with attentive staff. Good place to have your first degustation experience. Choice of a seafood and mixed courses. We chose one of each and honestly i felt as though the mixed course was superior in terms of taste. The degustation was perfectly paced and overall price was reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

When food is done right. It's perfect, and tonight was PERFECT. I've been to Napier a few times and I was recommended by many of my foodie friends to try Pacifica, thankfully, my bestie managed to get us a early booking for a table of four. We arrived on time to be greeted with sparkly eyes (as the wait staff were all masked) we were swept away to a cosy table in the middle of the restaurant. I could see the head chef between the weaved partitions of the simple yet unpretentious decor which hang comfortably in a sort of Vale type setting. It was humming and the vibe was perfect for a post Xmas dinner. We had two wait staff both very different in personality but equally professional and absolutely delightful. Three out of four of us decided to do the seafood degustation one the meat degustation, all with wine matches (in the most beautiful glassware). The wait staff were incredibly wonderful when Introducing each dish and each wine match, with both ease and detail without the fuss. Every dish was magnificent and the pairings (most locally) were equally as divine. This place really is special, I loved that the owner/head chef was in the kitchen carefully orchestrating his dishes seamlessly and effortlessly, something you rarely see in a restaurant. There was a sort of reverence about this place, a nostalgic comforting air about it. At $130 (wine pairing incl) this was an absolute steal for such an incredible degustation. I will definitely be back to try more wonderful dishes in the near future. KA PAI PACIFICA thank you.
