Review Amber Bar - Napier

Whiskey- Whiskey- Whiskey…… Oh gosh what a delightful little place this is can’t wait to bring hubby here. although it was quiet on a Wednesday night the service was amazing, welcoming just made me happy and the range of whiskeys is beyond comprehension something like 1200 different bottles different prices just incredible and they sell some really nice bottles for off license I believe, also there is a Spirit menu so you can actually find what you are looking for ( example of one of the pages in photos!) thanks team for your hospitality. It was lovely being a woman on my own and having my nightcap with such great company.
Natalie Bauer
My husband and I had dinner there last night. The food was absolutely delicious and the service team was extremely friendly and attentive.

Just got back from Indigo with friends, food was delicious, service was great. Amazingly, we were the only people in there so atmosphere wasn't buzzing but we had a great time. Even the kids enjoyed it and they can be very fussy eaters. I highly recommend giving them a try.

OMG - the food was stunning. It is the best Indian meal (and we love Indian food) we have ever eaten. The whole experience was memorable. The service was impeccable. We will definitely be back!

Was a lovely meal and service was good. Tables nicely presented but very large. Can be hard to hear the person across the table if it is busy as it was when we went. Huge selection of whiskeys that line a good part of one wall. Big selection of food on the menu also. There are high chairs for those that need. I was very touched that there is an aed defibrillator just outside too.

Great service, spectacular food, overall a great experience. Highly recommend you visit.

Food was delicious especially the Samosa Chat starter. Nice mocktail choices. Saved some money by booking on first table
Jamie Morrell
Food was really good, one of the mains a little spicy but otherwise everything was perfect. Would recommend.
Catherine Taylor
I can't fault this place. The service was great and the food was amazing! Highly recommend.

A group of us from work went for a banquet style dinner. The staff from Indigo made it easy for me to book and choose our menu options. We were given the upstairs lounge where we had great staff and friendly service. The food was amazing from the assorted entrees through to the selection of four mains...although I wasn't quite game enough to try the hot Vindaloo, those who did said it was delicious. Definitely the best Indian I have had. Highly recommend.

Best indian food I ever had. Let's start from the beginning. My friends and I were there to celebrate my friend birthday. I would recommend booking in advance as they have booths and everyone wants privacy. Few things before I forget Indigo has the biggest whiskey collection I have even seen in my life and they have some local brew beer options too. Food was outstanding we ordered chicken 65, chicken tikka, paneer tikka and lamb chops Followed by mains paneer tikka masala, dal bukhara and with assorted bread basket. Great food and superb service. Will be back

We are originally from the UK so we know good indian food when we come across it. What more can i say but absolutely fantastic restaurent. Great food made with the finest ingredients possible, great service with over 450 different whiskey's on offer. What is there not to like? Paul the owner is passionate about his food and whiskey. We will definitely be heading back whenever we are back in Napier. Undoubtedly one of NZ's finest indian restaurents.
Shirley Dalton
Fantastic food, wine and service. Would absolutely recommend this as a place to visit while in Napier.

All I can say is amazing!! A++ I won a competition for dinner for two. Not only did I receive all meals for free but my children also received their meals for free which was very kind. We were very grateful for the excellent customer service and delicious food. We will be back. Thank you Shaun and the staff at Indigo

Family booking one entree came out as a main an had been asked about 3 times everyone eating there’s before she got hers was a soup just like water cup a soup was returned an not paid for. Nan bread was meant to be served with main meal but came out when we were half through. Took an hour an a half to be served after we had ordered. Somebody had a hair in there meal which I find disgusting. Felt like they wanted to make more money off our drinks instead. Overall I would never go back to this place very average an wouldn’t recommend it.
Reece Hamilton
Shaun is an amazing chef and the staff are very polite top service and top food.

Always enjoy eating here great staff always feed me well. Would recommend this place to eat 100%. Take the whole whanau.
Wendy Collins
Brilliant restaurant with excellent food. The thali menu could do with being made easier to navigate by being sub divided into meat and vegetable dishes ( main and sides). However that said staff very knowledgable and helpful wonderful food with fabulous company. Will def be going again ASAP
Angie Torwick
We were very lucky to be invited by our daughter Sam Webb to share her prize dinner with her and her family at Indigo. The food was 5* plus. The staff helpful happy and friendly. This is the best Indian Food i have ever eaten. It was delicious. Thank you to the General Manager /director Shaun Bates who made us all feel special. We will be back.
Larissa Wilkins
Best Indian restaurant in Hawkes bay! A variety of food to choose from, great customer service, friendly staff, great wine and alcohol selection. Highly recommended !!! :)

Yesterday we enjoyed our dinner at Indigo during our weekend trip to Napier. Very nice food. Good service. Friendly staffs. Love to go back.

Came here on a Saturday. Didn’t know that we had to reserve but the staff were kind enough to accomodate us even thought we were quiet close to their closing time. Hence just to save them the trouble we kept our orders quiet small.
For mains we had the Lamb korma ; Saag beef and Bhuna lamb. Each main course has either tandoori roti , garlic / butter naan and a side of rice.
Friendly reminder : ask for individual servings of rice rather than having it together
The lamb korma was ordered as mild. It had a very nice consistency and the flavours of cashew and saffron was quiet rich and bold. The only negative that was constantly felt was the fact that there was a tinge of sweetness which I personally did not appreciate. The meet was tender and quiet well done. All in all an excellent choice.
The saag beef was comparatively a more consolidated dish and more drier than the other two that was ordered. The essence of spinach and garlic were strong and the meat as usual was excellent. This was ordered in medium spicy and was just about right.
Bhuna lamb was much creamier than it’s counterparts and was my personal favourite out of the three. Since this is my first experience with Bhuna Lamb I would morally not be in a high ground to comment on it and hence would just say that it was quiet good and very much to my liking.
We did try the Ginger beer and the Japanese beer ( had a large title which I can’t remember) which was quiet refreshing as well.
Jazz
Really yummy food. I had the chana masala which was great but perhaps a few too many chickpeas haha. The second time I had the pea rice with sides of aloo gobi and the lentil curry, such a great way to do it if you want to try more than one! Also the garlic naan is great. Perhaps could look into more eco friendly alternatives to plastic containers? Free and prompt food delivery which is awesome!!
Cal Powell
Fantastic, helping staff and awesome food. The vegetarian options wore varied and what we order was outstanding (dhal tadka with vegetable sizzler starter).
Bharat Kochar
The menu flatters to deceive. I tried romali roti and chicken pasandey and both were below par. I also ordered a glass of the elephant hill pinot noir & I believe it was a bit stale ...
MoFoZed
Staff were nice over the phone and delivery guy as well, took an hour to get the food delivered as it was a busy time altho they did warn me so it was alright. Ordered the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala, plus a garlic naan. I specified my level of spice but the actual chicken meat was tough and tasteless, seemed like coated with just a spicy curry. The garlic naan was a cheap fluff that had minimal taste, resembled a big english muffin. The palak paneer was not bad but nothing special.

It's always hard when you're visiting somewhere new and you're trying to decide where to eat. We walked past and thought it looked nice and so I cheekily asked some outside diners what the food was like and they said they'd been two nights in a row. We managed to get a table without a booking - it was a Sunday night and they were still quite full. I ordered the lasooni prawns (battered and fried) and they were very light and tasty. For my main I had the chicken korma - very tasty though more gravy like than saucy. Good service and we were checked on several times by wait staff.

Amazing place, flavourful taste, great service.. best Indian food I've had so far in NZ!! Was astonished to see so many Indian food lovers who are non-Indian themselves!! The restaurant is fully packed almost always.. got to pre book the tables.. great going guys keep it up👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

By far, the best Indian cuisine I've had In New Zealand.. presentation, variety and service of food is pleasing.. fun atmosphere to be in.. fully booked every evening, which is seen for d first time in NZ.. A must visit place if You are an Indian food lover!! Go for it guys!!
Di
The best Indian restaurant in Napier city centre. I had malabar prawn curry with steamed rice and a side salad. The portion was quite big and taste was definitely amazing. They also served some free snacks, nice nice!!!

First visit to Napier for a long time. Heard that Indigo was the place to go to so we did! Lovely setting and you do need to book in advance to guarantee a table. We picked a Thursday night so definitely a booking was required. Extensive entrée menu. We went for the mixed meat kebab “served to your table in a Mini Tandoor with Mint Chutney”. Novel idea and did not disappoint. Succulent tender meat and a nice minted accompaniment. For mains I tried the Bhuna chicken and the off sider went with the Lamb Korma. The Bhuna was delicious and the Korma had a slight star anise flavour (I think) making it stand out from the normal fare found at other Indian establishments. Could not fault the meals at all. Again, a good Indian restaurant cooking tender morsels of food. A couple of glasses of wine and a ginger beer all came to just over $90. While the wine list is extensive the only downside is the limited options available “by the glass”. Despite the wine option we would definitely go again when in Napier.

Went for booked dinner as we were on holiday in Napier. Ordered 7 yr old Matusalem Rum - but saw the waiter (Singh) pouring in Coruba Rum in my glass. When I requested to have look at the bottle of my ordered drink - he couldn't find it and it took 3 men to find the right bottle. That confirmed what was served to me was not what I had ordered.Food - pricey, will find the same quality / quantity in Auckland at lower prices in high end Indian restaurants. Dessert were tasty, full marks for it. Absolutely not happy with the service.
Adam
Great food, London quality (excellent), traditional, clean and flavorful. We did have a little wait on mains but with our two younger kids theirs arrived promptly

What more can you say about this place. Amazing food, service and atmosphere, just brilliant! Would recommend to anybody in a flash. Goat masala was my favourite.
Brynn
Not friendly at all, show no respect for younger people. Food was average, and when asked how the food was just kept standing there awkwardly, ruining our conversation. When we told food was good politely, was asked question of "so what you don't like the food?" Why would you ask someone that question after already been given a response, just making us both feel uncomfortable. Their attitude is rude, example of this is when I couldn't hear them when spoken too, said pardon and then I received attitude back. For I being a native English speaker, and two of the staff being clearly not, If I can't understand you, there is no need to give attitude and to be rude, when I was being polite and respectful towards you. This place is appalling with providing a good service towards its consumers, leading to bad customer satisfaction.

You pay for what you get - and here at Indigo you get even more. The prices are slightly higher than you would expect at other Indian restaurants, but you get so much more. Freshly cooked is most definitely the way to go, which is why you should go to Indigo!
Epicurious Nomad
Really good Indian food. A bit pricy - but well worth it. Staffing is usually friendly and good. Like all the places around there - there seems to be a high turn over. This is definitely more upscale in atmosphere and presentation than the other Indian places in the bay. Probably reflects the English owner -who has a great selection of single malts!
Pierre
Very very good. Excellent flavor fresh tast. I loved it. Deco and ambience at par.
RachB
The best Indian we have eaten. The food was outstanding. The lamb cutlets were delicious and we could have ordered multiple servings. The alcohol was reasonably priced and good wine list. Highly recommended.
Peter Grooby
Wow. What a fantastic restaurant. Possibly the best Indian meal we have had out. The dishes were succulent, tender and well flavoured with great balance. Highly recommended. Just wish we lived in Napier so we could keep coming back.
Vaidyanathan Balasubramanian
Fabulous, fantastic and energetic. These are the best words to describe Indigo on a positive note. The rating takes a slight hit as food made in India is much more delicious. But still Indigo is hands down the best Indian restaurant in all of Hawkes bay.
Shona Mowbray
fabulous dinner, fantastic food, lovely wine and nice friendly staff. I loved it here. Best Indian food I have had in a long long time! There was nothing I could say that I didn't enjoy about it! Can't wait to go back next time I am up
Rachel
Consistently delicious and amazing !

Really nice waitresses and beautiful mushroom curry. The complimentary poppadoms to start are perfect. We asked for the butter chicken to be extra mild for my mum (she can't handle any spice!) and it was perfect.

Also I was so happy to see the huge list of vegetarian mains :)
Kathryn West
I love Indigo me and my partner have been regulars since it first opened, we love the staff, service and the food. Bit of bummer though I love the Mango Chicken it was actually my favorite thing to eat it used to be packed full of mango flavor and mild not a hint of pepper or chili which I love because I hate anything spicy. It was mild and delicious-like amazing. Now they have a new chef the recipe is different it's gone from being sweet and mild to plain flavor and whole peppercorns which I really don't appreciate biting into. Can we have the old recipe back please?

The most authentic Indian food I've had in NZ, bearing in mind I've never been to India, but lived for many years in Birmingham (UK) where curry's really have a major following (and yes, I am a 'curry head'). Hosting was lovely, friendly, helpful, anticipated our needs and food was delicious - proper meat - none of that wired processed crap you seem to get in a lot of places. We had a party of 10 and we all had great food and will definitely be returning soon (we were there last night, and, to be honest, I'd like to go again tonight ....)
Taylor Reese
I have become quite the regular at Indigo.

The menu is fabulous and the service fantastic ! If you are wanting a beautiful authentic meal I strongly suggest Indigo..such quality ingredients - beautiful lean cuts of meat and great spices.
The team are always so friendly and efficient they are always my first choice !

I have been lucky enough to visit this restaurant many times. Wonderful authentic cuisine. The beverage menu is excellent and unique, with not only locally produced wine, also locally produced beer, this is great to see. The professional waiters only adds to the experience.
Jane Sewell
Fabulous! The food is scrumptious and the wait staff are superb. Everything that we ordered was beyond delicious. The naan bread, too, is unbelievable. The staff are so switched on and genuinely seem to enjoy ensuring that the patrons are well looked after. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Very worthy of all the great reviews that this place receives.
Kelly
We have been to Indigo Restaurant a couple of times and both with large groups of over 20 people, and both times the food has been excellent and the service exceptional! This is a really great place to dine, they have lovely authentic dishes to suit everyone, and so generous! We will keep coming back definitely!
Paul
I am often in Napier for business and Indigo is a must for dinner - I am working my way through the menu and although quiet mid week when I am there the service and atmosphere is good. I would definetly recommend if you like and authentic curry.
Gerry Keating
Visited Napier weekend of 20th/22nd September. Arrived on Friday evening and fancied a curry. Motel manager suggested Indigo so ordered a takeaway and it was awesome. Very tasty and cooked to a perfect medium. Will definitely go back again and hopefully dine in.
Jamie Sutton
I've visited Indigo on a couple of occasions. Food is great however service is slow. Ordered a takeaway and told it would be ready in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later I got my order. If they were busy I'd prefer to be told an hour wait on the phone instead of 20 minutes which was obviously not going to happen. As they say, one bad experience is enough, and that was enough to put me off Indigo.
Maddy Dillon
I love Indigo!!!!!!!!
It is so good! From the minute you walk in the door, where your coat is taken for you and you are greeted with smiles, this is so important and indigo nails it! I struggle to find customer service as good as this, the staff are all so so lovely and happy to help with any request you have!
The flavours are clean, the ingredients are fresh, the naan is served hot as it should be! (tell me you have been to so many Indian places and your naan arrives at your table near cold!)
They serve over 50 whiskeys here!! and have all the advice to pick one that suits. The food here tastes like it has just been cooked, obviously as it should! But other restaurants it's like its been sitting in the warmer... The environment is warm and clean and takeaway deliveries are free!
I try to visit Indigo every couple of weeks, highly recommend and other Indian restaurants in Napier don't even compare!
Mike Spence
We have been going to Indigo since it opened, and the food is consistently great! Recently though, we have twice had our dining experience marred by slow service, taking more than an hour for food to appear. This is embarrassing when you've got a table of guests who are there on your recommendation. Tonight it was 75 minutes from being seated before any food made it to the table. We were only asked for drinks once and the water jugs were not refilled. When the mains were brought out, they were without rice which took another 5 minutes to arrive. It would have been nice to order some of the yummy desserts but by this point it was beyond a joke! Sorry Indigo, we won't be dining in again, even though your food is exceptional and the venue and staff are welcoming.
Anna Merchant
Indigo was great, I went there with my sister and had a really good time. It had brilliant service. I loved it. It was a good atmosphere and the food was delicious I had butter chicken and a sundae and both were so yum! Overall great place to go for a nice meal.
Debbie Weinert
Indigo rates 5 stars with our family. The whole dining experience was fantastic from the moment we walked through the doors. We were escorted to our tables and given enough time to decide and order our food, which was delicious. It was my granddaughters birthday and Indigo wished her a happy birthday by free sundaes. Would highly recommend a dining experience at Indigo.
Tim Monck-Mason
Fantastic. What a find.
Decor clean modern sparse expensive...no stupid fake paintings and statues and red wallpaper here.
Service brilliant. Quick, attentive yet low profile and not pushy. Excellent staff that must be highly trained.
Started with immediate water, bowl of poppadoms, plate of free condiments of onion, mango chutney, lime pickle. Heaven.
Beer was local and on tap though lots of others available.
Starter perfectly cooked and tasty.
Rice best had for ages being light and fluffy.
Fish curry tender, tasty, fresh.
Naan fresh and tasty and light.

This place is seriously good. I travel and eat out a lot so have some comparisons.
Becky B
We had dinner at Indigo once after being recommended going there by a friend. Now this is my first option when going out for a Indian meal in Napier. Ten out of ten ! Service was one of the best I have come across in Napier so far.
Lourens Grobbelaar
I visited Napier on business and ordered take away. Was pleasantly surprised by the prompt delivery and service. Visited the restaurant later that same week and enjoyed the warm atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and authentic Indian chefs.
The goat dish I had was delicious - complimented by the good selection of great New Zealand wines.
Will definitely visit next time I'm in Napier.
Andy
In short - awesome

The food was exquisite. It's very hard finding Indian food which is not 'doctored' to fit the Kiwi pallet. Indigo delivered a wide ranging menu which I for one had difficulty choosing from. My fresh fish curry reminded me of the one I'd enjoyed several years ago in Bangalore. Given my dilemma with the menu, I'll be back!
Jim U
This was my first visit to Indigo since it opened, I had heard lots of good things about it and though I would give it a visit. I went with my wife who is normally not a great fan of Indian food. We started with the Tandoori Platter, the waiter had warned us that it was a lot of food and he was not wrong. We have never had anything like this at an Indian Restaurant before, all the meat was perfectly cooked and obviously fresh. I had the Goat Madras for my main and my wife had Butter Chicken, both where absolutely great even though we could not finish them all, the staff where kind enough to package the food that was left so we could take home. Overall the service was excellent and the food was outstanding, we shall definitely be back very soon
S Foley
Beautiful food and very well priced.

Easily the Best Indian Food around

Friendly Staff who are very professional and knowledgeable.

I recommend the mango Chick and Onion Bhaji

The free delivery option is dangerous as I have no option but to keep ordering from Indigo!
Tutti
Dont go to Indigo. You will be addicted and you will not be able to resist going back. The best Indian food I have ever eaten. All meats are cooked to tender perfection. The Nhari, Butter chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Lamb Madras have the perfect balance of spices. The creme de la creme on the menu is the Peshwari Naan...a must with any curry. There is no better combination. I must admit, I am finding it hard not to go to this fabulous restaurant at least once a week.
John Bland
Quite simply the best Indian Restaurant in Hawkes Bay!!!
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is fantastic. (Any Lamb dish will impress)

I went there for the second time last night with my wife. As before we were warmly greeted at the door and shown a large booth where we could take our time ordering from a good selection.

The dishes arrived in no time, with a smile and they were outstanding! Unfortunately we were in a little bit of a rush, but otherwise would have stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere. 10/10 Great to see this caliber of restaurant opening in Napier....can't wait to go back!

John and Nicky in Bayview

I was in Napier on business for a couple of days last week and had seen reviews about Indigo so thought I would give it a try. I took a business friend who would not normally by a fan of Indian food.
My first impression was that the restaurant was very unlike any Indian Restaurant I had been to before, the decor is very contemporary and the place is spacious. We sat at a booth which was ideal as we could discuss business in relative privacy and interference from other diners. The wine list was unbelievable for an Indian restaurant with a large selection of good quality local wines. The menu had the things you would expect from an Indian as well as some dishes I had never seen. The Roti Baboti starter was fabulous, probably the most delicious Indian food I had ever tasted, I opted for the Chicken Madras as a main, again this was excellent, very flavorsome and made with fresh coconut.
The service was attentive and friendly
I would recommend Indigo to all food lovers
Janine Last
We had lunch at Indigo this week, and it was the best Indian experience I've had for a very long time. The chicken tikka entree was cooked to perfection, tender and delicious, and my main of Dhanshak beef was tasty and tender with just the right amount of spice. The naan bread was crispy outside and soft inside, due to the charcoal tandoor. The duty manager was attentive, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
Monty A
I had heard lots about Indigo and thought it was about time I gave it a try. Rather than eat in I decided to get a takeaway to try it out. I went to the restaurant to order and have to say the place has been fantastically refurbished from when it was the Kazba. I ordered a Tandori Chicken and a Rogan Josh plus Naans. The service was very promt and polite and while waiting I enjoyed a glass of Kingfisher (on tap). The food took a litttle longer then a normal Indian Takeaway (15-20 mins), I was told it would take this long as it is cooked from fresh each time.
Well it was certainly worth the wait, the food was superb, I eat Indian probably once a month and I have never had tastes like it. The next time I fancy Indian food there is no doubt this is where I will go
Andy
Not my usual sort of Indian restaurant - however after traipsing about for 7 years to find a decent Indian meal in NZ - I've finally found a place which serves food of the quality available almost everywhere in the UK (sic!).

The food at Indigo was excellent. The much raved about chefs know their stuff. I have a staple order on any 1st visit to an Indian - if they can't get that right, I don't bother going back. My onion bhaji and chicken madras certainly hit the spot.

The only 'down side' - apart from the poncy head water - is that I live in Auckland - so Napier is a bit too far to drop in for a curry. I'll have to test their delivery policy!

In short - a great evening, wonderful food - and it won't break the bank.
Ian M
I was down in Napier on business from Auckland and was very impressed with my Lamb Nhari. The presentation was fantastic, the flavours were excellent and a there was a pleasant ambiance. All made for a great evening. Not to mention the great selection of whisky. Couldn't be better! Highly recommended. I will definitely be back.
Bester Pansegrouw
This is one of the best Indian Restaurants outside of India. I travel the world regularly for business and have also frequented India many times - in most cases I have come away from Indian Restaurants severely disappointed - I like spicy hot and usually get burning, tasteless hot - but not at Indigo. Entering the restaurant a bit sceptical I tried a combination of starters and entrées (sharing with my dinner companion) and both the mild and hot offerings were fantastic! This is charcoal cooking as found in India vs. gas found in most Indian restaurants outside India and the difference is certainly found in a very worthwhile culinary experience. Restaurant atmosphere and decor fits perfectly with Napier and prices are very reasonable – especially when considering the gastronomy! The whiskey collection is one of the biggest I have ever seen in a restaurant in New Zealand and they also serve Kingfisher on Tap. Whether you like it mild or hot you will struggle to find better Indian Cuisine anywhere else in the world!
Mike Brown
Wow, what a fantastic experience and not the usual curry house I am used to! Great atmosphere and especially like the fact(I presume) they had created their own winelist without the price being over the top.
The food was fantastic. The Samosas are made on site I was told and they were so fresh and tasty. And a great twist on the onion bhajis too. Then, the main of Lamb Jhalfrezee was something I would recommend to anyone. So tender, so good. And the plates were warm!
The presentation of the food was also very creative which left a great impression. We were visiting from Christchurch and the meal was so good we went back for lunch the next day!
Rob Tuckey
Excellent service and lovely decor. We had a great meal and the owners really ensured we were satisfied with everything. The lamb shanks are the best there is.
Indigos provides excellent Indian cuisine. I have eaten at several Indian restaurants throughout NZ and Indigos cannot be beaten
Di Craig
We had the three course lunch menu and thoroughly enjoyed every course, the flavours were to die for! The wine list was good, also great to see the light beer was cheaper than full strength beer. The service was fantastic as were the surroundings. We will definitely be back.
Paul Orton
Visited here on a lunch deal voucher, first thing that struck was how haphazard the service was but entertaining at the same time (but it was first week)
starters of onion bhaji and Murgh Malai Tikka ,where as good as you will get totally delicious.
Main courses of butter chicken and lamb madras also hit the mark although the lamb was very salty but spiced perfectly, giving a nice spiced heat without the chilli burn that many Curry's give.
Sweets again where lovely.
Also put in the price of the wine is competitive a place I would recommend to anyone

visited again .have to say still as good . staff still a little chaotic even though it was a quiet sunday dinner time
food again excellent. best curry in hawkes bay by far
my only little moan was i had my curry indian hot . very good heat but just needed the chilli cooking a through a little more as there was a sligh powdery/rawness as an underlying flavour
still would recommend to anyone .keep up the good work folks
Julie Cutbill
Enjoyed a 3 course lunch. Great service . Been very disappointed with so called Indian food served in Napier/Hastings but Indigo has given me hope that I can go out and enjoy Indian food cooked for me rather than spend hours in the kitchen preparing my own . Will definitely return to sample other dishes.
Grape Escape Ltd
Outstanding food. Weve been waiting for so long for a decent Ruby Murray in Napier. I dine here at least once a week. The flavours are not lost in the sauce like many butter chicken establishments. Bravo Indigo
Brooke N
Very tasty Indian Restaurant! Butter Chicken was the best I have tasted in a long time, and service was fantastic! Great setting with seats out the front, and comfy seating inside. Go Indigo!
Jim Ussher
very good food, excellent staff. , the whole experience made the evening a very relaxing and enjoyable occasion. The wine list was extensive as was the menu. From our being seated at the table to our paying the account at the end I could not find fault with this restaurant
The Nicks
Food was beautiful. As soon as we had the starter we knew we were in for a treat. The portions were exactly right. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and obliging. We had a 3 course lunch. We ordered the lamb madras and butter chicken. The meat in both dishes was tender and juicy and the sauces were flavoursome! Most certainly will be back. Recommend this to anyone who appreciates quality Indian cuisine.
Helen Le Quesne

Big fan of Indian Food. Great place and fantastic service.
I had the spicy Lamb chops to start followed by the Chicken Tika Masala, the food was fantastic and the use of a charcaol tandoor really makes a difference
Will be visiting again very soon

Good service, nice surroundings/atmosphere, food pretty good though a bit salty, only real criticism is servings very big, which is fine in itself but a suggestion that we shouldn't order so much would have been appreciated! We wasted a lot of food, as all very filling! Dessert was delicious!
