Review Crab Farm Winery - Napier

I hired The treehouse for a baby shower lunchtime function and it was the perfect place for it. From communication via email to book and arrange the day, everything was made very easy. You can take your own cake (for a $30 cake fee) and take your decorations (minus confetti)

I stopped in here with my girlfriends at the end of our weekend trip for a wine tasting, and I'm so glad we ended here! We sat at the tasting bar and Daphne guided us through a very relaxed tasting, letting us try whatever we wanted. She was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and the wines were all unique and delicious. They were also reasonably priced, so I definitely bought a bottle to take home. Overall, stopping at the Crab Farm Winery was a pleasant experience, I look forward to going back!

When Joel and I got engaged we knew we wanted a "no fuss" wedding. After a very short discussion on venues, we knew The Crab Farm was the place we wanted to do it. The venue is warm, inviting, cozy, romantic and has great food and wines- all things perfect for a mid winter wedding. Gemma was absolutely amazing. She gave us some great tips along the way and nothing was a problem to her. She was so welcoming and really understood the type of wedding we had in mind. Communication was seamless, if I had a question, she had the answer, even in those moments of last minute change and panic. We met with Gemma on the 1st of April 2023. This was before we were officially engaged, and got married at our "engagement party" on the 29th of July. We had the best time and it was truly made a stress free by Gemma and the team at the Crab Farm. The only disappointment by our 7 year old son was that there was 1. No crabs and 2. Wasn't a farm. Great spot that I’ve been visiting for at least 20 plus years I reckon. Love the rustic charm, the mixture of unusual varietals that you get in the wine and real value for money. This place is always busy, especially in the weekends so best to book in advance if you are wanting to dine, otherwise just pop in and taste the great wine in a cool iconic vineyard.

Had an 80th Sunday 16 of us could not fault the staff they went beyond to make this surprise birthday happen. Then the food platters arrived and it was beyond beautiful and well presented. Very delicious. Fire was going as it was raining and the whole atmosphere was delightful thank you Crab Farm we will be back

We made the perfect choice to visit Crab Farm. Such a relaxed and quirky vibe. Incredible friendly and knowledgeable service for our tasting and beautiful wines. Sadly we didn't arrive early to try the menu but are bring some wine back down to Christchurch.

Great outdoor dining space and lovely live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Went a couple times over Christmas! Really enjoyed the seafood platter, the steak, fish and even the chicken schnitzel. The lemon/passionfruit cheesecake was excellent, light and delicious not too sweet. Very delicious, great portions, very full and satisfied. Some of the other dishes could use some improvement though. The pork belly was well presented, a huge serving but not as juicy as I hoped, a little bit on the dry side. The creme brulee looked amazing but while burnt on top, it was icy cold. :( It was both a busy night, so I would recommend to book ahead and go early, because they do run out of some menu items.

My husband and I had our wedding on 11th November and crab farm hosted our reception. Our guests said the food was wonderful and the venue was beautiful - totally our style! Very easy to deal with in the months leading up to our big day. Great communication and very accommodating. I wish I could relive our wedding day over and over. Thank you crab farm. Your staff on the night of our wedding reception were fabulous. So patient, kind, and very willing to help. Cannot recommend crab farm enough. ❤️

Pretty good food at a decent price compared to other places. Nice outdoor seating so it's a good temperature in the summer. They also have indoor seating for if it is cold. Nice atmosphere and pretty professional staff but sometimes the service takes a while. Would definitely recommend to others and it's pretty family friendly too. (Would suggest booking to get a good spot.)

We went for lunch, on the way into staying in Napier for a few days. The food was fantastic. It has a rustic look, but is comfy and the food is a varied with amazing tastes, from local, fresh produce. Even the salads as part of the meals were sublime. Crumbed risotto balls may sound heavy, but paired with the salad, was amazing. We only had a glass each of the wines with dinner, which were not great, so we did not stay for the wine tasting. We were fortunate that it was quiet when we were there, so had the pick of seats.

Excellent food at Crabtree Winery. Seafood platter $73. Good value and scrummy. Also can purchase wine. Pinot gris very good and reasonable at $19. Recommended for a family event or casual dining. 😁👍

Amazing service with everyone being so friendly. Gorgeous wine and the vegan version of the vegetable curry so well worth it. The place itself is so rustic and bohemian which is just stunning to see. Highly recommended!

We love this restaurant so much we returned for a second Friday in a row & bought our guests from out of town this time. Such a great atmosphere with a huge central fire, candle light, guitarist playing our favourite tunes. On top of all that staff are friendly & efficient, wine and food are excellent...what more could you want! Good idea to make a reservation as this restaurant clearly gets very busy.

Rustic vibe, nice food. We all loved the asparagus.

Beautiful winery. Large playground out the way, very cool art shack and lovely wine selection. Tastings value for money and free if you buy wine. We certainly did. Great place and the food (although we didn’t try) looked amazing we will be back when back in the Napier.
