Review Art Deco Valley Cafe - Napier

Wow. We were totally impressed with this stunning restaurant/cafe/bar. Absolutely immaculate gardens with a farm background set in a river valley. Plenty of parking. Food was nicely presented. Good coffee & helpful friendly staff. Lots of different area's to make yourself at home. Tables under the tree's, sit indoors, on the shelteted deck, at bar stools or in leather couches. A log fire must be nice in the winter months. A small play area for children with geese and chooks nearby to add that lovely rural atmosphere. If there is such a thing as a beautiful museli breakfast then here is the place to get it!

Perfect place to stop for breakfast on the way up to Taupo. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was casual bit inviting. Great playground plus some farm animals to keep the kids entertained. They've really thought of everything.

Cute little spot to grab a bite on the way out of town. We got the breakfast pizza and the corn stack. They have dogs to pet, a farm area, some play equipment, a nice garden, and outdoor seating.

A good cafe to take a break after a long drive. They serve good breakfast and tea. A star less because of the muffin that was not as good as expected. However the service was good and people here were friendly. They offer lots of tables for people to sit outside. Lovely to spend a sunny day here.

Great location with loads of different seating places (these were outside) so even through the car park was full you didn’t feel like you were sitting on top of each other. There was a good selection of food. The boys choose the sweet muffin but found the cream cheese a bit weird. I had the sausage roll which was nice. We all had iced chocolate / mocha which were excellent (however it advertised cream on top which we had none of)

I was last here in Dec 2017 when it had only just opened and the cafe and grounds were a bit sparse. Went back a week ago and the ambience was terrific. The gardens are beautiful and the food and service are excellent. I noticed that some sensible people had reserved their seats as it is getting so popular. I personally don't like background music as I find it difficult to hear as everyone raises their voices over it. But there was plenty of outdoor seating and warm weather the day we were there.

We were taken there by a friend early on a Saturday morning. I loved the many spaces both inside and outside that we could have chosen to sit in. We sat outside in the sun and watched children using the swing and playing. A destination cafe, the garden is kept really well and the owners three small dogs bound out to greet guests. As good natured as the owners. The three breakfasts we ordered were generous (breakfast sausages were full sized sausages) and the coffees good.

Went there twice in two days when visiting the Hawkes Bay. Fabulous cafe. Hard to fault, so won't. Eggs bene delicious. The cute doggies were a real bonus. Good coffee. Lovely garden. Heaps of parking.

Stopped for a late lunch on our way from Cambridge to Napier, only to discover the kitchen was closed. The chef overheard our conversation and said he would cook us a meal. We had the big breakfast and the Caesar salad. Both were fantastic. Delivered to our table by the chef too. Beautiful surroundings, tasty food, and service that can’t be faulted. Well worth the stop.

Friendly staff, reasonable prices, tasty food, beautiful scenery and nicely appointed indoor eating area. What's not to like? Plenty of outdoor seating as well. Food selection is a little limited, but this place is well worth a stop! Has a children's play area, good off road parking, art deco (clean) toilets, and lovely big shade trees in the right places.
