The most delicious Thai food. I just had the new fried wonton and they were delicious. Followed by a chicken Ka Proaw Basil.

My mum knows the owner, so every time we come in she is very smiley and happy to see us. The food is divine, the waitresses are nice and polite. Oreo cheescake is my favourite dessert.

Only place to go for a Thai green or Thai red curry. Definitely a little bit on the pricey side but what’s an extra coupla bucks for a guaranteed tasty feed. I’ve eaten in a few times and whilst it doesn’t have the atmosphere of a Thai chef, it’s still very pleasant. Mostly have takeaways, if they introduced a loyalty card, I dare say I’d order from here a lot more.

Good value for lunch mains, most (if not all) below $15. The serving looked small but it was very filling and the crispy pork on the stir fried/curry dishes were fantastic! The food didn't take long to arrive and friendly staff.

On our arrival (not busy at all) we were greeted in a luke warm fashion, and felt that they wouldn't have cared if we walked out. We wished we had - The food (over-priced) was very average, but my Thai chicken salad was appalling. The pile of salad veges (partially coleslaw and green salad), was non-descript, and the chicken was dry and tasteless. At the bottom, was a very pink watery sweet chili sauce, with no hint of lime or ginger, and there was no coriander. We will not be returning.

The best Thai restaurant I've been been to personally. The food is a wee bit on the expensive side but it's well worth as there is enough quality in the food.

We visited for a meal based on the good reviews and were not disappointed - Prompt service, beautiful food in generous portions and reasonably priced.

First timers, even though we live round the corner.
Very impressed. Great service and ambience.
Food even better. Have eaten regularly at the other Hawke's Bay Thai restaurants, but this definitely the best.
I'd recommend trying one of the Chef's specialties.

We live locally and love this Thai Restaurant. We have dined in once and would happily do it again. Most of the time we get it take away and the food has always been great! The Tom Yum with king prawns is to die for! But do agree with one of the other comments that it is a bit pricy.

I have visited the Thai Lotus on numerous occasions and always had great service and food. Best Thai I have had outside of Thailand - the Tom Yum I cannot rate highly enough!!! -although the Baileys ice cream pie is rather special so leave room if you can.
Plates are beautiful and obviously authentic, and service has always been friendly and attentive.

I have dined at the Thai Lotus on several occasions and found the food and service of excellent standard.
We love the Baileys ice cream and pie. !!!!!

Initially, the service was attentive, but after delivering our entrees and then mains, we didn't see the waitress again until we got up to pay the bill. The food was very good, but a bit on the pricey side. There were at least 5 waitresses on (it was a Saturday night), but they were constantly standing behind the bar, either talking to each other or having drinks themselves and not paying the appropriate amount of attention to their diners. Ours and another table didn't get our plates cleared away at all and the bill was not brought over. A bit of a shame the service was so poor as this really lets down an otherwise very good Thai restaurant.

On arrival I sat down at a table, took my jacket off, was reading a menu and waited 15min for someone to come over to see if I was ok if I would like a drink or take my order, But no they were behind the counter talking laughing and leaning on the bar, I had to go up to the counter to place my own order and drink, thought this was rather rude service, and then waited 30 min, only two other people were inside eating, Lady came out with my order in takeaway containers, I told her I was planing on eating it here, she turned around gave me a dirty look and walked back to the kitchen with my order, 10 min latter she arrives with it on a plate, The plate was chipped verry bad verry noticeable, after I had finished eating I did feel like another drink and a desert, again nobody came to check on me, so I up and left very unhappy But the food is very nice can not fult the food, jut the service of the place, If I go back it would be in a takeaway container as Id rather not eat off there plates again NEVER again

I live close by in Napier and, in my opinion, this restaurant more than gives the very good Thai Chef a run for its money. The food quality and value-for money cannot be faulted.

I live in Taradale so have eaten here often. I think they have changed owners recently, ie early 2008, however the food is still honest, fresh and very authentic. Not as good as the Thai restaurant along the Parade, see other Thai restaurants in Napier for my other review. Well worth a visit, can be a bit slow if busy but the food is well worth waiting around 25 mins for your meals to arrive.
