Review Harry's Hawker House & Bar - Nelson

A great place for dinner. The staff were welcoming friendly and knowledgeable. There was a superb selection of Craft beers and a delicious wine list. The menu was fascinating and deserves a repeat visit. This is a 'Sharing Plate' restaurant my wife and I shared 3 plates and a dessert, we did not leave hungry! The star of the evening was the Wagyu Beef salad the perfectly cooked slices of beef contrasting wonderfully with the spiced chickpea crisps. Minor criticism, the cauliflower was slightly overcooked for my taste!

Great place for tapas with a twist to Asian cuisine! We ordered the oysters (nice and fresh), Teriyaki salmon fins, beef tartare (this dish is refreshing) and the hot & sour eggplant!

Was coming for the prawns but the menu has changed. However, the food is still good and good price as well.

Delicious and creative, food has Asian flare with creative fermented food accents (pickled carrots in the banh mi and the pickled fennel on the venison were amazing). Yet we could also deconstruct the food to serve to our 3yo - who love everything (when does that happen??). By far one of our best meals in NZ.

My wife and I went there at 8 on a Saturday night. It was full, we had booked ahead so was shown to our table. We chose two meals each and they came out one by one in perfect timing to share and the food was amazing. Our server Olivia was awesome so left a $40 tip. All and all was such a wonderful evening thanks to all the team there. Nice job guys! Very satisfied 😊

Absolutely loved our dinner here! The service was amazing and the food was even better. Really loved the cozy vibe here too. We shared the samurai fries, chicken and dumplings. The fries were SO GOOD. We look forward to returning!

Loved everything about our dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Favourite was the Wagyu Beef but all he food was superb. Quick efficient service. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We might go back for a second time to tast some more of the delicious food, while we are still here visiting in Nelson. This time I might choose two dishes I won't share and hubby can do the same. Coffee was great too.

What a gem this place is, the staff are wonderful, the food is delicious and the whole atmosphere was brilliant. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much guys for the awesome food me and my partner got to enjoy.

What a absolutely cool place for fine dining. The staff are more then welcoming, the prices are not stupidity over priced ether. I would definitely go back again and a again. The food is next level in taste and flavour.

We were welcomed in by the staff and sat up in front of the chef & his team. Beautifully presented & amazing food. Favourites for us were the Naughty Ngiri and the Chilli Squid Karaage 😄 we will come back to try the pork bao, which looked awesome!

Yeah had a great time tonight when out for dinner and drinks with me mates. Our waitress was awesome, good chats and great service. Definitely delivered aye and will be back when in town again. *didn't get the name of the waitress unfortunately but she was English, and looking after the outdoor section of which we were sitting… and 100% deserves a pay rise!!!! Also complaints to the chefs for great food, bloody amazing!!!!

Wow.! We have discovered our new favorite local eatery. Two of our group are celiac and the chef came and spoke with us offering options and reassurance. Utterly outstanding food with real surprises. Just excellent. A must do whether you are local or visiting. We'll be back - often.

The naughty nigiri is to die for. This may be the finest restaurant in Nelson. You must go there.

Wow what an amazing food experience for four people. This was the best food and service of the month for after spending the week travelling around eating in top restaurants in Queenstown & Wānaka this night was the very best by far. Huge thanks to everyone involved in our night. Service from staff was excellent the chefs nailed everything and I will surely be back. Favourite meals were TERIYAKI SALMON FINS, KARAAGE CHILLI SQUID, SINGAPORE SASHIMI, MALAYSIAN FRIED CHICKEN, 21 DAY AGED SIRLOIN with cloudy bay clams, MALAYSIAN FRIED CHICKEN with hot & sour sauce, Hawker vege, BRULEED MARSHMALLOW with chocolate marquise, raspberry, bitter snaps. Surprises was the Salmon fins that melt in your mouth. The crispy Squid with amazing flavours. The Sashimi had a slight spice and I could have eaten this again and again. The Sirloin was cooked perfectly but the clams added so much to the dish and I could have eaten a bowl of clams on their own. Both the CITRUS CHIFFON CAKE, caramelized apple, ginger beer sorbet and the BRULEED MARSHMALLOW ended the night perfectly. The Mocktail was made perfectly for the driver and other drinks were kept full all night. Thank you all

So soooo good!! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, the chefs are wizards in the kitchen and the atmosphere is lush. The food is exquisite, we loved sharing the dishes and the beer on tap is great!! Can't wait to go back! Cheers guys

The food here is art. I loved every single thing I ate. Service was excellent, too. Great atmosphere, lively spot on a weeknight and everyone in the restaurant seemed to be happy and enjoying their experience.
